Wow! A neighbor who just replaced his roof recommended Holloway Roofing and I called to arrange a free inspection. We had a water stain on the ceiling of the ground floor in a 2 story home. I was certain we had a plumbing problem until we got 4 inches of rain and now a dripping leak downstairs - and hadn't used the bathroom in days.
I canceled the plumber.
William Anderson, Outside Sales Rep, arrived on time. Politely listened to my perplexing situation and then asked to go up into the attic. In less than two minutes he found not one, but two leaks. He made a point to clean up the small mess (insulation) that he made when he came back down.
He showed me photos where the boots over the plumbing vents had degraded so much that sunlight was pouring in.
Then he went up on the roof, put two new 'boots' over the existing degraded boots, and caulked them to make a good but temporary fix. He explained that a more permanent repair would involve removing a few shingles, putting the boot on, replacing with new shingles. When I asked if Holloway would send a bill for this temporary fix he said, "No charge for this, my boss said if we can help, we should just do it."
The next day we got another downpour, an inch in 30 minutes. Not a drop on the ground floor. Peace of mind.
I am still deciding whether to replace the roof or just do the repair for now but I will be calling Holloway when I do.
