I asked for three companies to offer terms to replace our roof on our home and shed. Both had been damaged by wind and hale. This was the only company that looked at the roof first hand AND offered a line by line quote, with optional upgrades.

Their price was not the cheapest, but it was competitive. The company answered all my questions and were up front about every issue. Very easy to deal with and responsive. They also carry insurance for Liability and Workers Compensation with A+ carriers

Their workers were phenomenal working through the excessive heat of June 23rd and 24rth. (90+ degrees on the ground, much hotter on a roof ). The clean up was excellent and they really earned their pay!

I was very impressed by their professional approach and responsiveness. Special recognition to Ben Piliere who was working and communicating with me every step of the way. He really was great to deal with.

Absolutely outstanding service! They did an incredible job with drywall and paint in a room that had been damaged by a leak. The work was fast, professional, and the room looks brand new. I really appreciated that they gave me two estimates—one with paint and one without—so I could decide what worked best for me. Everything was completed in just two days! On top of that, the owner went above and beyond by helping out with a plumbing issue at no charge when he happened to be driving by. Can’t recommend them enough!

I needed some Hardy plank siding repaired, right behind the conduit pipe where power comes to the house, so it was a little tricky. Todd Hartley came out to see what needed to be done and gave me a detailed written estimate a couple days later. It was right in the middle of the range I was expecting.

Communication was great, they let me know when they were coming and showed up on time.
A crew of three did all the work, it looks great, and they left a clean job site. They even ran a magnet wand over the work area to pick up any dropped nails.

We had a water stain developing on the ceiling in my wife's closet, so we searched for companies that did roof repair. Hartley Homebuilding & Exteriors came highly recommended, so we called to get an estimate. The amount quoted was very reasonable to replace the roof ridge vent. They were able to complete the work quickly, and no one needed to be home. The crew hauled everything away, and if not for the very obvious new ridge vents (they went much further across the roof than the originals) you wouldn't know they had been there. This was all during a period where there was a lot of rain, snow, and absolutely frigid temps. But they managed to thread the needle and get the work done between two rainy days. Now we don't have to worry about more water damage from a leaky ridge vent.

We had an incredible experience working with Todd and the rest of the team at Hartley Homebuilding and Exteriors. From our first inquiry all the way through project completion, Todd was readily available To address any of our questions and concerns. The workers were top-notch And extremely diligent with their attention to details. As is typical with other similar projects, the scope of the work to be done, kept growing (“hey can you guys do this…”) And the team was extremely flexible and kept rolling with it. I cannot Recommend them highly enough! Todd was helpful with the initial design concepts as well. Our home came out even better than we had initially expected!

Hands down, best service we've ever had at the house!

No need to relay our past nightmares with other companies; just know we've seen how bad it can be. Hartley is the EXACT opposite of our past experiences with others!

1) Communication - outstanding. The office staff goes out of their way to touch base and make sure everything proceeds smoothly. Kindness, flexibility, and promptness are clearly important to Hartley.

2) Price - very fair, competitive, NOT out to gouge you. They're a small company who isn't looking to overcharge you (while nearly everyone else in the area will try to do exactly that).

3) Workmanship - terrific. Excellent foremen, speedy (and careful) workers, and the owners even come out multiple times each day to inspect progress. Their philosophy seems to be "build the home solidly, carefully, and correctly as it *should* have been built -- not how the developers slapped it up."

Beyond everything else we loved (working with the owners and the staff, the work that was completed, and the final product), our favorite part was this:

NO SUBCONTRACTORS. Their guys are their guys -- they're not outsourcing jobs to other crews who may not finish work with the same attention to detail. Their guys are trained by THEM to make sure the work quality remains high.

Hartley has provided has provided many upgrades (Windows and Roof) and various maintenance for my home (Trim, Paint, Siding). Todd and staff are trusted advisors to any issues that are found, offering options and various solutions, and providing guidance for each. I know our house is better than ever each time they complete their work. In a world that has moved to "quantity", it is refreshing to find a company that still stands for "quality".

This company does everything right, from sales to contracts to labor to cleanup. Todd (owner) first came out to do the assessment. He was very thorough - taking pictures, explaining the damage, what the process would be, showing samples of the product to be used…he even cleared out the laundry vent that I suspected was full of lint (and explained that was a builder grade vent that could/should be replaced with a higher quality vent). Some of the other contractors didn’t even get on the roof (or use a drone). Moreover, all other contractors used pressure sales tactics in an attempt to gain my business. Todd was patient and professional. Todd and his staff also did a great job with the back and forth with the contract, making sure that all items were documented and addressed. He was readily available for all questions. Price was also within insurance coverage (due to hail damage). Todd’s staff was also great with scheduling and delivery of products. The schedule was about 3 weeks out, although we did have a week delay due to weather. The install team was prompt and worked really hard all day, dawn to dusk. They did a great job, and have an outstanding work ethic. The team’s foreman was also thorough and on top of things. Of course, time will tell if there are leaks, but it looks very solid and the workmanship is guaranteed. Lastly, the cleanup was very thorough, even using large magnets to collect fallen nails. Todd then followed up himself to inspect the work and look for any final cleanup items. Bottom line: if all companies operated like this, life would be much easier!!!

These days it’s refreshing to find a local home contracting company that is both trustworthy and very highly qualified .
Thankfully, you won’t get a visit from some commission- based, high pressure sales rep. You’ll get a person who actually tells you the truth about what does ( and doesn't) need to be done.
In our case , Todd Hartley was completely transparent about the condition of our relatively new, hail damaged roof… repair, not replacement was his advice. In spite of our roof only being 1.5 years old and deemed eligible for replacement by our Insurance Company, Todd disagreed and provided evidence of its’ solid condition. The roof was fine, needing only a handful of fixes.
What he did discover , however, was a set of badly failing large picture windows , high above the front door. Their removal and replacement with custom ordered windows was completed perfectly within just 2 weeks of discovery.
Hartley’s work crew could not have been better on this fairly complicated project. Unlike most other companies, Hartley has their own crew that works together , not some random group of laborers plucked off the streets.
If you value peace of mind and certainty when it comes to home contracting, you won’t find a better choice than Hartley.

We’ve been more than pleased with the Hartley organization from the first time we met several years ago to discuss a new roof through to a recent, unrelated repair. Their representatives have been personable and knowledgeable, and the work has been performed neatly, professionally, and on schedule. We wouldn’t hesitate to call them again.

My 6-year-old house had two roof leaks. There was no weather damage, but rather poor workmanship. When researching roofing companies to replace the roof, Hartley Homebuilding and Exteriors stood out. Their field staff are trained by the shingle manufacturer, all the field staff are Hartley employees and have been with Hartley for years. Todd and the office and field staff are outstanding!

Best experience I've ever had with a contractor! Todd and his team are super professional and extremely detail oriented. I loved that I never had to worry about the job! The team of folks Todd has working for him are professionals who work swiftly to get things done within budget and the timeframe. I was so impressed with their attention to details as they meticulously numbered my shutters when taking them down and putting them back up. I loved that I didn't have to be the project manager because there were so many sets of eyes on my project that I knew they would do it correctly. Working with Hartley is a dream. Ben came out after another roofer couldn't find the source of our leak. He quickly diagnosed the problem as unsealed nails in our ridge vent, sealed them up and checked out a couple of other issues for us. We ended up having them replace our ridge vent with a superior shingle over style. The work was done efficiently, neatly, and for a fair price. We haven't had any problems since.

We had a fairly small job - replacing 3 slider windows - but the Hartley team did a great job. We were not treated like a small job! We are very pleased with the new windows and will be contacting them again when the others are in need of replacement.

We recently worked with Hartley on some roofing repairs. While doing the work on our home, they found some loose fascia that we weren't aware of and proactively fixed it, and also fixed a loose shutter. The Owner came out, inspected the roof by walking the entire roof (no binoculars from the ground), explained the work needed, noted the upgrades I’ve made over the last 20 years, provided a detailed estimate for only the repairs needed NOW, and advised a new roof could be deferred 2-3 years. What a relief! His crew did excellent work and included enhancements at no extra cost. I’ll call Hartley for the new roof at the right time!! Excellent service.

We used Hartley Home Exteriors as part of a multi-faceted remediation project due to mold in our home. We selected Hartley after interviewing and receiving quotes from 6 or 7 siding contractors and are very happy with our selection. Their prices were fair, they were always very professional and, most of all, conducted themselves with the highest level of integrity imaginable. Several times they identified issues outside of their scope and corrected them with no additional charge. I couldn't recommend their services or their company highly enough.

Shortly after contacting Hartley Home Exteriors for an estimate on replacing our roof, the owner, Todd, came out to our residence. He took countless number of pictures and sat down with us to discuss his findings. Our roof was over 20 years old and needed much attention. We let him know our primary goal was to ensure the roof would pass a home inspection as we are planning to market the house within the next few years. My wife and I were comforted in knowing that Hartley has installed many new roofs in our development as many of the homes are now over 25 years old. The feedback we received from our neighbors was very favorable.
We were presented with a written estimate within the week. We agreed to move forward and from that point forward the process went seamlessly. Todd was also instrumental in interacting with our insurance company as we were able to file a claim with our carrier for hail damage.
We found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. The office manager, Kylee, kept us informed throughout the process. The project manager, Jessie, met with us the day of the installation. He explained the logistics of the work to be done. He requested we reach out to him at any point if we had questions or concerns. The “roofing crew” were hard-working and stayed until sunset to complete the job. They were also extremely careful to clean all debris. The office controller, Lisa, was also a pleasure to work with in finalizing the billing invoice.

Don't do many of these but feel compelled when service is exceptional. Hartley Home Exteriors just replaced our roof and gutters and installed gutter guards. They were efficient and thorough and cleaned everything up. They took special consideration also for a special addition on the house that can be easily damaged and no issues whatsoever. ~2500 sq footprint for everything took only 2 1/2 days total. Additionally they're certified installers with the companies whose shingles they install. And they are the only ones in the area of the 6 I got estimates from that take the time to properly install around the chimney. They were also very competitive price wise so you don't have to settle for lower quality install. The owner, Todd, is very communicative and responsive, regularly checks on the job site thoroughly. And his Teams are very considerate, hard working, efficient, well trained, thorough, and communicative. Can provide pictures of final product if interested. Funny also, by the time our project was finished, at least 3 Hartley signs went up in my little neighborhood for others having immediate work done also. They put advertising signs up a couple of days ahead of work starting.)

Two years ago Hartely replaced our 19+ year old roof with Certainteed architectural shingles. The job was done right, in one day, and looks fantastic. Although I knew the roof done by certified installers had a 50 year warranty, I was shocked when I received the fully transferable warranty in mail from Certainteed with an expiration date of 2070!

When it was time to replace our drafty, leaking, barely functional windows, I got quotes from several companies. Then it occurred to me that I should call Hartley. I'm glad I did. The extremely high quality ProVia windows installed were about 60% the cost of our other quotes. Again, the widows went in expertly within one day. Best of all, I know that if I have any issues with them whatsoever, Todd and company will take care it.

Repaired serious leak in dormer and also found two new large leaks (from mis-located low nails) in a roof just installed by Long Roofing. When complete, they also water tested their repairs. Both areas have been through heavy downpours with wind with no leaks. Nice job.
