I called Hamby Construction yesterday and had the pleasure of speaking with Mrs. Hamby. She was courteous and bubbly at 8:30 in the morning . I was surprised to get a live body these days. She was so helpful and called me back promptly! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hamby Construction and Roofing to anyone just based on my experience over the phone! There are not many businesses that do what they say and this one does. Thank you Mrs. Hamby :)

This company goes above and beyond . From the initial phone call about coming to give a estimate to actually coming to our home and replacing are roof ! Mr and Mrs Hamby are some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with to get our roof redone and honestly we're god sent . I even loved the roofers their self , they have an incredible crew . If I were ever asked of a company that does honest work and hard work and are extremely nice ( everyone of them) I'd go for Hamby construction & roofing ❤️
Small town people are the best their not like corporate out to make another dollar the around because they take care of the people they do business with !

Last week, a friend of mine was desperate seeking for help, but since she doesn't spoke English she ask me to help, we call Hamby Construction and Ms. Hamby explain everything perfect to us, and look after to help us. We call the right people and they came and did everything quickly. Thank you for your help Ms. Hamby.

We called to have an estimate completed for a roof over. We were scheduled for the following Thursday. They came out and less than 48 hours later we were provided a quote. We look forward to hearing back from them.

Edit for 2/23/23…..called Hamby Construction and Roofing today to move forward with our roofing estimate. Mrs Hamby quickly and cordially accommodated our spontaneous need to drop by to pay our deposit and sign our estimate paperwork (since we happened to find ourselves nearby to them). This company has truly been a great experience to work with from the start (and most likely to the finish, I’m sure). Our 2.5 year old daughter also enjoyed meeting Mrs Hamby. We felt as though we were treated like family. If 10 stars were an option, we’d easily select it! You honestly couldn’t ask for a company to communicate better than Hamby does.

Edit 5/1/24…. We have been having difficulty with obtaining a land surveyor and we decided it would be worth a shot to give Hamby a call to see if they could refer any one. It was as though Mrs Hamby was expecting our call because she was ready and willing to provide us with information! Although I believe I lost signal (my apologies, Mrs Hamby), she was just as courteous and helpful as always!

The Hamby family has been a true Godsend. I called Mrs Jane Hamby and left a message with my concerns of a roof job costing over $50K that went horribly wrong with another contractor. She called me back quickly and within 24 hours, Mr Hamby had his best crew out here. They fixed the immediate threat of more water pouring into my mother’s home and ruining heirloom antiques and artwork. These are the most professional, kind and compassionate folks I have ever met and I consider them like family now. I will be calling them first for any future jobs! Thank You Mr and Mrs Hamby!

UPDATE September 2023:

The previous roofing company has not responded, nor have they even tried to resolve any of the roof problems over the last year, so I hired the Hamby family to fix the roof… properly. The whole second story had to be taken off and replaced due to the metal being too short. They found a huge section of rotten wood that was never replaced, as well as the no peel and stick tar paper on the other side of the roof. I have to say that the whole experience was so completely different from the previous company! The process was so much easier and anything that had to be fixed, changed or improved was explained in detail. The work was completed within a business week and Thank God! We had a hurricane on our doorstep the very next week and the Hamby crew were very professional and efficient to get it done! If I had all of this to do again, I would definitely call on the Hamby crew to do the work! I want to thank Mr and Mrs Hamby for all of her help dealing with resolving the situation… You guys are the best!

I have seen many roofs done by this company. They have been in business for over 40 years. I chose them for my roof replacement because I know them to be no nonsense, fast, fair and reliable. I cannot rate them highly enough.

Mrs. and Mr. hamby are amazing people my roof had just been completed and I love it they are very respectful people and I appreciate them getting my roof done before hurricane season Mr.hamby and his crew did an amazing job :-)

Horace Hamby is a true professional and always great to work with and completes an excellent work product. He has completed numerous roofs for us and we keep coming back. His wife Jane is always so helpful and friendly. My husband and I would highly recommend them for any project you may have.
Update: I contacted the Hamby’s because my insurance company wanted more documentation from a roof replacement and we had just moved and couldn’t find it. They quickly located what I needed and sent it to me. They are great people and true caring professionals. Wish every business I dealt with was run by people their caliber.

Hamby Construction transformed two small difficult to use bathrooms into one large space with a walk in shower and separate toilet closet. We are very happy with the new use of space. Both Jane and Horace were very professional and excellent communicators.
Would highly recommend.

Horace & Jane Hamby and their team went above and beyond to make sure our roofing project went smoothly from start to finish. It decided to start pouring for about a week for the first time in months right after they got started ripping up parts of the old roof (yay Florida), but Horace made sure we were taken care of even if it meant fixing tarps in the middle of the night.

Every detail was taken care of from the contract, permitting, construction, and more and everything went well. It was really nice to be able to trust them to handle the details and I wasn't disappointed. They do have a wait list, but they were upfront about that and I couldn't be happier with our new roof.

Since 2012, I have had Hamby roofing install new metal roofs on five different rental properties in the area . I have experienced only excellent workmanship and professionalism.

We have been most satisfied with the work Hamby Roofing has done for us. They put a new metal roof on top of an asphalt shingle roof and left space for air flow between the roofs. Thus we kept the insulation of the first roof and had good air flow between on this commercial building. Another roofer wanted to do the job with no space between the roofs. We have used Hamby for repairs also and recommend them to any one needing roof work.

Four years ago I was referred to Hamby Construction. I have worked with The Hamby’s planning, estimating and permitting multiple projects over the recent years. They are a professional and honorable business that you can rely on. Hamby Construction is the “go-to” contractor for roofing and remodels. Jane Hamby’s attention to detail with permitting and walking clients through the process is seconded to none. We recently had a large re-roofing project completed by Hamby Construction at our ranch which was comprised of four buildings. The Hamby’s went out of their way to work us into their schedule. Once they were onsite, they didn’t leave until the job was completed. Furthermore, they worked some weekends to stay on schedule. On one building we had an oversized run; they custom ordered the panels so we wouldn't have seams in the middle of the roof. I’ve referred Hamby Construction to my neighbors. They’ve used them and have been happy with the process and finished project. I can’t say enough about how grateful and happy we’ve been with their work. Hamby Construction is the company to call when you are needing a new roof, or even repairs. No job is too big or too small for Hamby Construction. Mrs. Hamby is overly caring and very professional when it comes to her job as the secretary/ owner. She will do whatever it takes to make sure her customers are satisfied. Hamby roofing has replaced the roof on three different homes for me. I take care of several homes in my neighborhood, and Horace is my roofer. Because I am responsible for what gets done on these homes, I always personally inspect anyone's work that gets done on these properties. So on the last job, Hamby's crew was putting on a large garage roof for me and I was inspecting it for the third time during the first day of work. I check their work periodically. The county inspector shows up to see the work at that stage. I happened to be on the roof at that time. The inspector says to me that I have the best roofer in the county working on my garage. I said, Thanks. It's my third job with them and I knew they were good. They are.

I used Hamby co to put a metal rough on my lake property in Florida. The project was put on hold (no fault of Hamby). The Hamby team waited patiently for 8 months while I worked to clear the county's stop order. Then they finished the job, and did an excellent job. Full recommendations for Hamby. Contract with them in confidence. Follow up and timely nice was spot on.

PS: I have since asked them to complete the rest of the project.

We needed a new roof on my elderly mom's home. We live 3 hours away from my mom, so we knew it would be a challenge to find someone willing to work around our schedule. The Hamby's were great! They came right out, gave us a very fair estimate, and they were right on schedule...that says a lot considering most construction always seems to be delayed. The roof looks fantastic, and they were all so nice to my mom. Thank you so much for making my mom's home safe again and for being so kind and flexible!

When we were searching for a trustworthy roofing company we got really lucky when we found Hamby Construction and Roofing. Mr. Hamby personally came out to our home and was very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. He made it very easy for us to choose his company to do the job. His crew was very respectful and did a great job cleaning up all the old shingles and especially, the nails.

Just want to mention something important. Hurricane Matthew took my roofover. Within a week or 10 days , my insurance had paid and Horace & Jane Hamby (Horace and his crew) had a brand new roof on protecting my 45 year old home . Now let me talk about what Hurricane Irma did to that new roof ..... It did nothing !! ..... That Hamby roof was 100 % water proof. It held like a champion. I had some powerful winds over here . The awning over the front door literally folded back over that new roof and no damage was done . The winds also help lay down my power pole. My neighbors Dave and John set the new pole and Joe hooked everything up along with a Texas crew from Pike Electric . Dave repaired the awning and my sprung front door, yesterday !! Sure is comforting having such awesome people coming to my rescue !!

I 've had Mr. Hamby re-roof two houses and he has one more to go. Mr Hamby is very knowledgeable and is reasonably price. Hurricane Damage

We had damage from not one but, two hurricanes. Mathew and Irma. We had damage at our primary home and our work places on Tybee Island. We had wind damage from Mathew and flood damage from Irma. Our home in Florida had wind damage from both. This became a huge burden realizing I couldn’t be in two or three places at once. I called a friend and neighbor in Florida for references on Roofing Contractors. After several bids came in I selected my friends first reference Hamby Construction and Roofing. I called them and talked with Jane. We shared childhood stories of back in the day growing up on Lake Broward. We accepted Hamby’s invitation to help with our roofs in Florida. They have done a great job from the beginning with tarps on the roof and boarding up broken windows. Everything was done in a professional way of which I haven’t experienced since I moved from Florida. How blessed is that? All this was accomplished by Hamby from long distance. They have done a great job on the roofs and currently working on a plan to complete the interior, exterior of the home and curb appeal. Unfortunately we are not back in our primary home on Tybee Island. How I wish Hamby were here to help. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of help. We can’t wait to visit Florida soon.

called to get estimates and was asked if I would
like quotes for metal also, I said yes please! was told I would be put on the schedule for later that week early part of next. I had not heard back in a month so I called. was told they are booked til next year. I asked why I was not told that intially and was yelled at and told I was, then i was hung up on. I called back a couple of times to get an answer as to why I was being treated so badly, no answer and then my number was blocked. I understand being busy and also understand making a mistake. a simple, im sorry we are so busy and couldnt get to you would have been enough. instead they acted liked idiots. so happy I did not do business with them. cant imagine if I had a problem with the finished job.

Hamby Construction & Roofing added a new front porch, enclosed sun room and roof to our existing home and we could not be happier. The quality, professionalism and attention to detail are exceptional and their employees and staff were knowledgeable, courteous and patient in answering any questions I had.
