Great company to do business with competitive pricing. Angel is very professional and easy to reach. We have used this company 3x in the last 2 years. Can't say enough good things. Highly recommend!!

This company sucks. I worked with Angel L. to get an estimate for a partial roof replacement and chimney flashing repair. We signed the contract and then he went rogue for weeks. No communication for a while. He never picks up his phone and only communicates through text messages when he feels like it. The receptionist at the office is completely useless. They provide no information and never help you. We scheduled a day for them to make the repairs and they canceled on me several times, including the morning of the repairs. I gave him a piece of my mind and he never responded and never showed up to the third rescheduled day. There are plenty of roofers that service Bergen county. Do not work with these guys. It’s not worth the hassle.

They worked hard in completing my roof and putting in gutters. They were professional, hard workers, and cleaned up well. Kudos to Henry's crew and John Adkins for organizing the great job! Also did a good clean up!

Terrible service. One of their ladders fell on my deck and destroyed it, they offered to fix it and did a lousy job. Garbage was left all over my house and left so much debris in the attic. My deck and around the house was stained with a black element. I had to pay someone to fix my deck, clean my attic and power wash my house. I DO NOT recommend this company at all.

My grandmother has used Hackensack Roofing for years. My sister and I bought my grandmother's house and continue to use Hackensack Roofing. The work they have done on the house was great. The sales person, Mike, was upfront and truthful on when the work can be completed. Mike is now retired and surely missed. The new person, Angel, is so unreliable. Angel says one thing and does not come through. We are still waiting on a job from Hackensack Roofing to begin (this has been since September). When we call Angel, he does not return our calls. I called the main number today to report shingles that fell from the roof due to the wind storm on Christmas Eve. At least the person on the phone was upfront and informed me that they were busy and that I would get a call in the New Year. I like the work of this company, but Angel, who works for them is not honest. This makes the company look bad. I would appreciate another sales rep doing business with me. I hope this company does not loose business. I would have given a five star review, but I gave it a three based on what is happening now. I did not want to be unfair and give it an one star review based on an employee's performance.

Honest and trustworthy company. My neighbor recommended them for leak in my roof that was penetrating into my attic. They took two days to come out. They arrived promptly and were able to immediately assessed the problem and provided solutions. Their pricing was fair and I feel confident that they did a through job.

I have a flat roof on my house and I’ve been using Hackensack Roofing for years to regularly maintain it. They are very responsive. I've used several roofing companies over the past 23 years and they are the absolute best. They do an excellent job and I highly recommend their company.

Great roofing company. They have been maintaining my slate roof for years. Priced well and they don't try to sell you things you don't need.

A guy showed up about a complain from home inspection and I have leaky gutters but he said my roof was leaking than I said not roof it’s about gutters he didn’t bring a ladder just look at the house and reported my roof is no good.I don’t have a single drop of water when inspection was going on it was raining hard.I don’t know why he reported roof no good.He ever don’t say good bye or his impressions.He was so unprofessional and liar.

I have looked at these reviews and am wondering if this is the same company that I have done business with for more then 30+ years and one that I will continue to do business with in the future..
I have used Hackensack Roofing (Rich Jr) to take care of my roofing needs for my 4 investments properties in Jersey City since 1987 and my roofing needs in personal house in Hasbrouck Heights since 1979...
I have found them to be very responsible, very reliable and very professional...I have never had any problem with them and I will NOT use any roofing contractor other than Hackensack Roofing for any of my roofing needs in the future and recommend you do the same...

I just got off the phone with then to kak an appointment. Completely unprofessional the lady who answered the phone was completely ride first thing she asked for was my address after I gave her. My number she says we will get to you when we can within 2 to 3 days and hangs up lol don't waste your time .With these loosers

Their secretary or whoever the girl is at the desk is the rudest person ever. Asked for the owner and she hung up on me. I wouldn't waste your time calling this company if you can't even ask someone a simple question without getting hung up on by a girl with a horrible attitude. If you don't want to be at work, quit girl.

EXTREMELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! They came out to fix a leak on my roof the 2 years ago and the leak continued for 1 year after it was patched and fixed several times. Finally they told me I need to replace half my roof and trusting what I thought were professionals, I followed their lead and did exactly that. They were paid for their service in full and exactly 5 months later I have shingles blowing off my roof. They are extremely unprofessional and rob hard working people of their money. I would never use this company again. Liars!!!!

I had my roof done by them and I have no problem in the past years. Anything can happen. You can insure they are putting quality material and they employees are very responsible.

A Hackensack roofing contractor has been cited for exposing workers to falls and other hazards in southern Bergen County, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced Thursday as it proposed fines of more than $112,000.

Hackensack Roofing Co. was cited after inspections in East Rutherford and Wallington, the agency said in a news release.

OSHA said it inspected a site in East Rutherford on Oct. 18 after inspectors observed employees working on a roof on Carlton Avenue without fall protection. The Wallington inspection was opened in November in response to a complaint alleging fall hazards at the site, the release said.

The company was issued three citations — one of which was considered serious — for lack of fall and eye protection, and for workers throwing shingles from a roof without a container to catch them, according to the release.

OSHA proposed $112,487 in penalties as a result of the citations.

Hackensack Roofing declined to comment when reached by phone Thursday afternoon.

Anyone with experience using "Hackensack Roofing Company"?
I need some help as I paid them a big down payment, they tried fixing but did more damage than repair!

I'll have to be honest and say our roof is tile so it is a more challenging but when I met Stephen Garino for an estimate he quoted me for many thousands of dollars and was full of confidence that they will fix it in no time.

They have been about 7 times in my house over a span of 3 months!! and still couldn't fix the leaks, actually the leaks are even worst than before they start working on it (more leaks than before they touched the roof!).

Trying to reach them to come back to fix it again is worthless as the most you can get to is a secretary or a voice messaging system. Emails are answered after 3 weeks if at all!

Anyone with the same experience as mine?

At this point I only want my hefty down payment back so I can bring a more qualified company.
Suggestions?

They did a full roofing job in 2004. By 2014 our roof started leaking. Called them 5 times and left messages that we needed them to come by and check the roof. No one returned the calls. Finally used another roofer - one I trust - to replace the side of the roof that was leaking. They found that Hackensack had done a shoddy job in the first place - only ran one chalk line so by the time they reached the top of the roof the shingles weren't overlapping properly and after a little weathering easily could have started leaking. Also, their crews are slobs. When they do a roof they just push the old shingles and nails off the side of the roof onto your bushes. We were picking up old shingles and nails for years.

I have a flat roof and I one company look at my roof and they told me that I didn't need a new roof. They said the roof itself was fine, but the main issue was that the water was pooling because it didn't have enough places to drain to. I had made the call to Hackensack Roofing already and they came by to give me an estimate and after surveying my roof, they said my roof NEEDED TO BE REPLACED at a cost of $12,000! They were totally going to take me and I wouldn't have known any different! I had my roof issue solved for $2,000! You can't trust anyone!

Horrible customer service. Only good thing is that they answer the phone. Everytime I was either told someone would call me back or even go out and give me a proposal. Never got a call or a proposal and I am talking commercial roofs. They must have enough business that they dont need any more.

Rude and unprofessional. Following Hurricane Sandy, with a 4 x 6 " hole in my roof, he came by and upon seeing another roofer offering an estimate, he called me on my cell at work and told me he would not write an estimate. I explained that I was getting 3 estimates and planned to use one and he hung up on me.
