My husband and I made a very wise choice to have Guardian put on our new roof. Their workmanship is superior and their materials are the best! I certainly would recommend them to everybody. They did our whole roof rip off and put the new roof on in five hours and they did a superior job. They cleaned everything up. I wouldn’t have even know that they had been here. They are very respectful they will work with you, and most of all you cannot go wrong with the Guardian company!!

We got our siding done a couple months ago and just recently decided to also go ahead with black Cericade on our roof as well! There is no doubt this has really elevated the look of our house and I am so happy with the results, but also with the quality of work! Marcus came to do a free quote. He was great very patient and answered our many questions. We told him we were unsure on which direction to go with our improvements and he explained numerous options and provided us rough estimates. All while not being pushy to get the sale which was a breath of fresh air.

I scheduled Guardian to come out and evaluate the roof on my new house. Cody Stuht was the consultant who came out and he was prompt and professional.

He took the time to explain the condition of my roof to me along with what he saw in my attic. He verified a few things with another Guardian associate over the phone and then presented me with some options for review. No hard sell, nothing weird - just courteous, professional, and he took the time to make sure I understood my options and the condition of my roof.

Edit to update: After posting this review - Guardian did come back and work through our concerns with us. We can’t say the communication was perfect and they really just blamed a crappy hire from 2 years ago who apparently was the cause of most of their problems. (Why they didn’t take the initiative to follow up with those families in the first place - I don’t know). Regardless - the company came back and our roof IS fixed - and they did it for free. I won’t give them a perfect rating. Communication still wasn’t great and they sub-contract the work so sometimes the timing of when Guardian says people are coming and when the sub-contracted team shows up is not the same. But we’re grateful they worked with us and that our roof no longer leaks.

One specific mention - Patty with Guardian followed up after the work was done (and was the one who called when I posted the review!) She was very helpful and it was great that she called after a big rainstorm to make sure we didn’t have further issues. So kudos to you, Patty! Thank you!

Do not recommend using Guardian! Our husband and I chose them as they offered financing and we couldn’t afford to pay outright. We wish we would have done more searching! We had an active leak in our roof, signed a contract in August and they weren’t done until November. Teams would show up unannounced so we would have no idea when people would be at our house. They left an absolute mess in our yard - said they would come back in the spring to clean up - we had to remind them multiple times before they came. They also charged us for a full third layer removal even though only a third or less of our roof had a third layer.

Now our leak came back, we had them come out and look. They blamed the siding which was not in our original contract and wanted to charge us another $12k to replace/fix. We had an inspector come out and look - there are MULTIPLE spots that were not completed properly or were shoddy patches in our roof - causing water to continue leaking into our home when it rains. No one came back to properly check and make sure these things were done correctly! We are LIVID with Guardian and STILL paying off the $36k they charged us.

10 out of 10 DO NOT recommend!

What a journey with Guardian it has been. After meeting with 8 companies and widdling it down to Guardian, I feel taken advantage of.

We were mis-quoted at the beginning by the sales repand things were offered that weren't "reasonable", according to other Guardian employees. We were also told, prior to signing the agreement and terms of the work, that Guardian would touch up inside of the skylights if anything wasn't flush. They ran back on this after installing the skylights, saying the sales rep didn't know what he was talking about. Sure, fine. Mistakes happen, I guess.

August 2024 hits. Our roof, gutters, skylights, downspouts and dormer siding work begins. The time to complete continued getting pushed back. Days. Weeks. Months. It's nearly April and we still have no resolution to our punch list items. We had a series of different project managers, but none seemed to communicate back with me. Voicemails, text messages, etc... were sent to the project managers. Typically, multiple days would go by with no correspondence back. Not even a "give me a few days while I look into this".

I then shifted to communicating with scheduling in the office since the project managers weren't communciating. Communication seems poor among Guardian staff as well as with their clients, from my experience. Countless calls, texts and an email thread longer than the Delcaration of Independence yet here we are, over half a year later and still trying to get work on the books to fully finish the issues left in our roofing project. The office and project managers were/are not on the same page. I feel like I get ghosted by the project managers repeatedly, leaving calls, texts and voicemails unanswered for weeks on end until additional communication is attempted by myself.

The roofing crew had damage to various parts of our house, including old skylight flashing being dropped into our house when they replaced skylights. Broken decking, tight shingles, bent gutters, and broken cameras/things on our property have all been incurred. Guardian did eventually make some of these damages right, but only after a lot of deliberation back and forth.

I don't doubt that Guardian CAN do a quality job. I think that's evident by many of the reviews. I believe that a majority of our project was done with quality work. The multiple stars off is due to the lack of communication with us, that seems starkly different than others' experiences and the, seemingly, lack of effort to fully finish the job. I understand we have WI winters, so I have been patient over the snowy months, waiting patiently for any correspondence, but when do clients that are still awaiting finalization get their projects finished before new ones are taken on?

Note: I'm willing to update the review, but nearly 7 months of this is exhausting.

Great experience working with Cody. He has more than enough knowledge and experience in a number of areas and was very professional and kind throughout our interactions. It felt far less like a sales pitch and more like a couple of nerds discussing why technology is cool and what it can do lol. Would absolutely recommend asking for him if you want to dig deeper than the “average” person and get to know all the juicy details for your project. There are so many people that do a half-baked job and fail to meet our standards, but I’m pleased to say Cody is one of the exceptions. We will be keeping Guardian in mind for future home projects for sure!

Marcus was very helpful and listened to our needs. Could have sold us anything but was honest. He helped brainstorm and came up with a game plan for us. When he didnt know the answer he made a quick call. I will always appreciate a salesman/woman who will admit when they dont know and seeks the answer before telling me what I want to hear. Guardian and Marcus were never pushy and made us feel comfortable every step of the way. If you are looking for exterior work I strongly consider at least listening to what Marcus has to say!

As one ages and cannot continue to do needed improvements to ones' adult lifetime home, it was comforting to deal with an honest and trustworthy individual like John Jones from Guardian. He was thorough, thought worthy, and straight forward with answers to my questions. He was both 'in service' and 'of service' to both my wife and me as we contracted for aluminium facia, rain gutter replacement., and other minor repairs.
He was informative and availed options in a very professional manner. His intent was not to (up sell), but, to provide information so we could make an informed decision. Thank you, and we are looking forward to the project completion.

We had a hail storm in our area that caused significant damage to many properties. When I called in Guardian to help, I was very pleased with the professionalism and personable representative from the company. The insurance inspection was quickly expedited and the project was soon to be organized. Throughout the process from initial contracts, scheduling and work completion, I was very pleased with the effort and efficiency of the staff both here and at their office. Their online portal was state of the art for payments, etc. Top notch all around. Most of all the workers worked very hard and efficiently and paid attention to the safety of our property and quality of the work. Thanks Guardian!

My adventure with Guardian began in December, when I returned from a month abroad to learn my homeowners insurance policy was in danger of being cancelled due to the age and condition of the roof. I met with 9 companies over the course of a week; Marcus from Guardian was the first rep I met with and his friendly, personable nature coupled with the thoroughness of his inspection earned my business. He got up in the attic and onto the roof to take photos and explain the needed work. Guardian's bid was the second highest out of the 9 but I felt tremendous confidence moving forward with them based on my conversations with Marcus.

Kaila from the business office was instrumental in coordinating and was a pleasure to work with. Install day got pushed by 48 hrs due to a weather delay (not unreasonable during a WI winter) and she made sure the new date worked with my schedule. Josh Moore was the Project Manager and also a great communicator. The crew put on a row of shingles that was crooked, and he made sure they came back to fix it that Saturday.

There was a preexisting leak at the back of my home where water got down and rotted out part of the soffit and framing around a window. I asked for a quote for that work but something got lost in translation and it turned into a whole situation wherein I was quoted a price for the work I requested that, apparently, was intended to be what it would cost if I agreed to side my entire home. I am grateful to report that, once I expressed my frustration with the communication breakdown, Joe from Guardian reached out and we were able to negotiate a contract that addressed the area in question. This work was completed relatively quickly and to the letter of the contract under Josh's supervision. The workers were very respectful of my home when they needed to access the interior and cleaned up thoroughly.

I removed one star from my rating to reflect the issues that arose but I feel confident recommending Guardian based on my overall experience.

Cody has meet my expectations to the fullest. He assured me that I was not making the same mistake I made when I purchase my first solar installation. He is truly a asset to your company and I trust he will go far in his career

While getting my quote done, Anthony was very knowledgeable and cared about ensuring I had all the information I needed to make the best decision for me. He was personable and communicated well! The whole experience went very smoothly.

Cody did a great job filling us in about Solar Energy. I learned a lot and will definitely consider solar in the years to come. I need to upgrade a few other things in the home to make it more energy efficient before we can add the solar panels.

Marcus came out for an 11:00 appointment and was on time and very professional and personable. He gave me cost saving suggestions when he didn't have to. To be honest I was already set to go with another company and just wanted a 2nd quote, but because of the customer service I received I went with Guardian and signed the contract that same day. Marcus left my home 2 1/2 hours later and I felt like he was a part of the family because of the great conversation we shared during his visit. Thank you and I look forward to seeing the completion of my house.

Made an appointment to get a quote. After the initial appointment, I was told they had to make a second appointment to get the quote. They cancelled one day before the second appointment to tell me they don't install pre-purchased windows. Waste of everyone's time. Wish you would've just said that the first time I had called, BEFORE all these appointments were made.

A lot of fun to work with. Josiah was thorough and explained everything in detail for me. I understood the process of what is to be expected. Great interacting with him.

My wife and I recently bought a home and had the distinct pleasure of working with guardian representative named Sean Ludwig. The man appeared to be well versed in his craft and did everything to make the the process as smooth as possible. Before we new it we were on our way to raising the equity of our first home and couldn't be more satisfied with the care Sean gave us.

Got connected with these guys through Angi for a roof repair project. Cody was our rep and needless to say, we were given every detail possible about the cost associated with the works needed to be done at our home. Given the information, we decided to wait for a better option financially. Never felt pushed or rushed into decision.
Matter of facts, decided to go solar and could not ask for more details about the project than what Cody had given us. Everything is transparent from cost breakdown to electricity usage analysis. Again, not a single push or rush, and no sales tactic. Just what best for our current situation while building on our home equity. Worth checking out solar if you maybe thinking about it.
Side note: was approached by someone going door to door about solar and was given an estimate of $10000 over what Guardian is proposing. Always do your research, of course. Will eventually consider cericade for our roof in the coming years, as well.

Working with John Jones was a great experience. He helped me understand my siding project better than any of the other companies I had out to give me a quote. He's the only one who took the time to inspect the roof and explain how the siding, roof, and ventilation work together.

Guardian was great to work with. Joe and Josh were present to answer all of our questions during the installation of our new roof and gutters. We had a particularly difficult issue with water flow around our chimney that they corrected with a great deal of thought and personal attention. They arrived in the time frame they stated in the contract and their crew were friendly, respectful and professional. We recommend them.

Fantastic job by Josh and the siding contractor crew from the Chicago area who I would rate 11 on a scale of one to ten. But Guardian did a wonderful job on a complex cedar shake siding project. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome and how I was treated.
