Most of the deck was great.There are a couple areas that a new piece of would should have been used instead of sanded down. The costumer service was amazing.

Our experience with Tommy, Andy and his crew has been nothing but great from start to finish. It’s apparent that their attention to detail sets them apart. I can’t recommend them enough. What has impressed me most is their desire to make sure you are happy with your finished deck. They LISTEN and then they follow through. Seriously, these guys and their team deserve your business. We hired FWD Construction to build a full wrap-around deck with multiple sets of stairs, and they did a great job. Brenton and Tommy were all about quality and customer experience. It was a pretty complex project, and it turned out great. The ALX metal cable railing they installed looks incredible—and really ties the whole thing together. The crew was easy to work with, showed up when they said they would, and paid attention to the little details. You can tell they actually care about doing quality work, which is hard to find. If you’re looking for a deck builder in Alaska, especially around Anchorage, definitely check these guys out.

They addressed my questions about settling prevention and durability of the materials. They did their work quickly and well. My new deck is great and looks great. If you can, go for the deckorite, as it really mimics wood and feels nice. Good crew.

Our deck was totally destroyed by a major windstorm in January. Also wrecked was our hot tub that we had for about 15 years.
We called several companies to ask for bids.
FWD was one of the bidders. Tommy came over walked us through the project. We were also having some problems with our insurance company. With Thommy’s help
all questions and any confusion was cleared up.
The project started earlier than expected and wrapped sooner than anticipated.
The work was excellent and the deck looks incredible. We are very happy.
Now we’re waiting on the new hot tub.

We love our big, beautiful deck. The FWD construction guys helped us design it and tear down our old dangerous small deck. They then put in footers in the late fall and had the deck built in 3 days at the end of February. Oh my goodness, we love it so. They are an awesome company. Under promised and way over delivered. We are very happy with our deck replacement by FWD Construction. The entire team from start to finish was great. Design plans and cost proposals were easy to understand and easily adjusted for minor design changes. The demo team was fast and cleaned everything. Coordination with all of the utility companies and pier installers was extremely smooth. The build crew was great, delivering a fantastic product that will last years.

Quoted 4 companies, FWD was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. They were competitively priced and provided the customer experience that anyone would want.

These guys are the best! This is our second project with them, and both experiences have been problem free with spectacular results.

We originally reached out to FWD construction because of some beautiful decks we saw on Facebook. We chose to work with them on our deck demolition and build because of their promptness in communication. They listened to our goals and provided professional opinions as needed. Their project management flowed well so the project could keep moving forward smoothly. In 2 weeks my old deck disappeared and a new more functional and beautiful deck can be enjoyed during the last remnants of fall. They final walk through went smoothly with the few loose ends taken care of quickly. They do cost a bit more than other companies but the price for the considerate employees, quick work, and comprehensive clean up was worth it to our family. Now we have a deck that offers us space for entertaining and stairs to our backyard.

Tommy listened to every detail and designed my dream deck. This was a big project, complete with a 3rd story deck and stairs leading all the way to the ground level and another ground level deck. From demolition of an existing patio to completion of the new deck, the entire crew was incredibly dependable, hard working with positive attitudes every day. We love our new deck! It’s almost like having another room on the house. It’s beautiful!

FWD replaced our 30-year-old small back yard deck this spring. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and flexible throughout the entire process – from our initial contact through the complete build. They remained responsive even though the late thaw delayed the start of construction.

To say the deck is well-built is a huge understatement. If the house falls down in an earthquake, the deck will still be there.

FWD suggested several initial design changes that we hadn’t considered and that we love. They also made several suggestions during the build process that we hadn’t considered and that we love, They even put up temporary barriers to keep moose out of the gardens while the fence was down.

The on-site build crew was reliable, polite and friendly. We were completely comfortable with them having access to the house while we were away.

We just love our new deck!!! FWD was so efficient and well organized. I cannot express how happy we are that we used FWD for our deck. We have worked with a lot of contractors and rarely have an overwhelming experience. FWD was amazing. They were patient, timely, and friendly as we asked for revisions to our plan. As soon as we signed our contract we heard from our project manager who came out and talked through the process with us. He was a joy to work with throughout the project. He was always accessible by text if we had questions and was proactive in updates. The team onsite was super friendly and just a fun group to have around. They always cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. The deck itself turned out great, any questions we had they actioned very quickly. The team made sure we were 100% happy before we received our final bill. I actually wish we had more projects for FWD or they did work other than just decks because I would hire them in an instant for any project. You cannot go wrong with this company.

Absolutely the best deck builders, period. We are extremely happy with our amazing deck and the value we received. But even more, the construction process with the FWD crew was as fun as it was professional and expedient. FWD Construction deserves my highest recommendation.

I'm posting this belatedly, but I will say that several months on, we're every bit as happy with our deck as the day it was finished (when I originally wrote this review).

I cannot speak highly enough of Brenton, Tommy, and the entire team at FWD. We just replaced the 1500 sqft deck that wraps around three sides of our house, and we’re so glad we chose to go with these guys! Theirs wasn’t the lowest bid we got, but they were communicative and helpful from the outset, and they found several ways to save us money and still give us exactly the deck we wanted. When the expected supply chain issues inevitably struck, Brenton kept us updated and made sure the impact on our project was minimal. Their crew was neat, efficient, cheerful even in the endless rain, and nice to our kids, from the first day of demo to the final touches. The couple of minor issues that came up, as they always do in a project of this size, were dealt with immediately, and we truly feel like we got incredibly lucky finding FWD. What more can I say? Stop messing around on the internet and hire these guys already!

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with FWD Construction as they remodeled and expanded our deck. They took great care in laying out the deck, making sure everything fit together seamlessly. We’d had two other bids. FWD was in the middle, but we’re very happy we decided to go with them. FWD Construction was great to work with! From the dreaming and planning phase with Tommy to the actual demo and construction with the Mas Locos team - they made it easy for us every step of the way. They were patient and creative to ensure the best possible project for our needs, within our budget. Our house is a work in progress, but we posted some before and after pics. We love our deck and are already planning our next project with them.

We used FWD and Brenton to demo two old decks and build a new perimeter deck around the front 1/3 of our house, which added roughly 550 sq.ft. of outdoor living space. During the whole project, we could not be more appreciative of the quality, professionalism, and attention to detail of Brenton, Tommy, and their whole crew at FWD Construction.

Customer Service:
FWD did an excellent job throughout the whole process, even though we booked the deck build in the middle of winter. They stayed in contact and sent several plans with different options until we settled on the final layout. They also were able to work with us and handle a sliding door install at the same time of the deck build, which was a huge bonus to us. With frequent check-ins, touch-ups, and progress reports, we felt completely at ease with FWD throughout the whole project.

Economical and Efficient:
Prior to finalizing with FWD, we sought out other bids from a few other groups. Even with the craziness of Covid and lumber prices, FWD managed to come in very economically without any sacrifice to quality. They also guaranteed to schedule us early in the season. We were prepared for them to start building in May as other companies were booked through July, but they go us started mid-April! Now we get our new deck life and #BigDeckEnergy for the whole summer!!

Quality:

Simply stated, FWD went about and beyond with the options and selection of materials. Quality products are the foundation of a quality build. On top of that, the rough and finish work is excellent. Clean lines and sturdy construction make for a reliable and beautiful deck.

If you are in the market for a new or remodeled deck, I could not give a stronger recommendation. FWD is a great company and I look forward to using them on any other projects we decide to build in the future.

When I started seeking a company to build my dream deck I was without any direction. A friend recommended FWD but I felt compelled to do my due diligence and get several quotes from well reviewed local companies. I am so glad I did! It made my decision quite simple. No doubt I was going with FWD. They made no secret of what the cost would be, the amount of time the project would take, and showed up the day I was scheduled for. They were entirely patient with my OCD tendencies and never made me feel like the picky customer I am. Besides building a perfect deck; they were so tidy! At the end of each day they left the job site spotless! I have already scheduled them for several other projects. I would gladly push a project out a few weeks rather than hire someone else. They were kind and professional and... super nice to my dog. Because I believe customer service is only second to quality... not gonna lie, the thank you gift of sweet treats was a thoughtful bonus. I love my deck now!! Brenton added a beautiful bench to my existing deck, making it more functional and it looks GREAT! We can invite friends over, and we have PLENTY of seating for everyone. We were able to get Trex decking that matched perfectly. Brenton did such a great job designing the bench and he really caught the vision of what I wanted. I wanted something really nice and he created something really amazing. Next I will have FWD Construction update my master bathroom!

I contacted FWD Construction concerning an update to my master bath to include tile, cabinets, flooring, lights and paint. Some items I had in storage and several items I needed help with selection.
Then I got really smart and left Anchorage for a two week vacation. I returned to find my mater bath project completed and was amazed with the results. I was extremely satisfied with the workmanship and choice of materials used.
