Jessie and Chris did a great job cleaning and servicing our fireplace. They arrived on-time and were very thorough doing the work and left everything spotless. The cost of their work was very reasonable and less than the other bids I received.

My husband and I are so happy with the work and cleaning of our chimney that Chris provided. He will be our only chimney guy from now on.
Not being dramatic but you can see by the pics he saved our house and ourselves.

Jesse was great! Gave a lot of great advice on how to help our chimneys perform better and even got on the roof in the rain to check for screens since we get bats. Went above and beyond, had clear communication and was great with our old dogs. Definitely recommend!

Jesse came by to assess the state of my ancient, leaking chimney, free of charge. He took a pass on the job because of my metal roof, but recommended a chimney shop who will. His assessment was frank, friendly and honest, and I would have been happy for him to take the repair job. For this generously provided, free service, I’d recommend him to anyone. That kind of stuff goes a very long way in this world, especially when other chimney shops charge steep, non-job applicable fees for “24 point video inspections” and so on, like a boiler room operation.

Jesse and another team member came by to sweep and inspect our chimney. Their work was efficient and thorough, and there was no mess left afterwards. This is our first time heating a house with a wood burning stove, and Jesse offered us great advice on all things wood burning stoves, even including how to tend to the fire in different temperatures and what type of wood to burn. First rate chimney, Jesse did an amazing job on my 2 gas chimneys. Jesse came back to repair my brick chimney that needed repairs. He even went above and beyond and sprayed the moss on the roof and cleaned my gutters. It was alot of work but he was good on his word. I highly recommend them and they will be my go to. We had a great experience with First Rate Chimney. I reached out via phone to schedule an estimate for masonry repairs as well as for any other repairs needed after an inspection. I called before Thanksgiving and was scheduled within a week. Jesse was great, communicative and gave me an estimate on the spot. He also made us feel better about the state of our chimney and what repairs would be necessary (compared to a previous estimate). We didn't end up accepting the bid but would recommend just based on our experience with the scheduling and estimate.

Jesse came and looked at our gas fireplace which we found out has problems. He got the pilot light working and told us what was going on and gave a recommendation for who to follow up with. Highly recommend. He seems honest and treated us well.

I had a great experience with this company. Jesse gave me much needed info on my fireplace and chimney that I didn't know. I felt his recommendations were honest and beneficial to the health and maintenance of my vacation rental in Welches. His ability to communicate on my particular needs prior to the day of service was excellent, so that he was prepared on arrival. Since he is a general contractor he was also helpful in giving me info and some leads to other specialists on things I pointed out that I need addressed. I will be using this company in the future.

I hired First Rate to clean my wood stove piping that exits up a 30' chimney. Jesse went above and beyond. He underpromised and overdelivered. He climbed up and really examined the chimney, lining, flashing, and cap, and gave me photos so I could see exactly what we were talking about. The cleaning itself was neat and thorough, no mess at all in the house. Excellent communicator, quick and efficient worker. Will definitely recommend to friends.

First Rate came through right on time when i needed help cleaning a super clogged up big old chimney. He noticed some repairs it needed and was able to do them easily. Then he noticed our dirty gutters and was able to clean them up all in the same visit. Nice work and friendly guy. Would recommend for service in the Portland area and surrounding.
