First Finishers from Yelm did a bathroom remodel for aging in place for us. They had to move two walls, new plumbing etc. The owner, Kai, was extremely well organized and responsive. All of his crew and subs did high quality work, were on time and true gentlemen. I highly recommend them for any construction.

Water damage from a busted frozen pipe destroyed my kitchen while on vacation. It was a mess and I hade to deal with my insurance company. I am so glad I went with First Finishers to help me through the process and rebuild my kitchen. These guys did an excellent job! My house was built in 1948 so yah there was a couple hiccups understandably when working on an old house but Kai and his crew, and subcontractors took care of everything. They are professional, detail oriented, put out quality workmanship and very organized. As a retired tradesman myself I highly recommend First Finishers!

We used First Finishers to build our custom home. We have built 2 other times out of state and our contractors were nightmares. We had the complete opposite experience with Tim. We felt heard, on time schedule that was realistic, honest, and quality workmanship. We could not recommend this company enough and Tim.

We had First Finishers as our contractor for a kitchen, flooring & hall bath remodel in April/May. Upon start of the project we were given the anticipated timeline for each phase(demo, rough in, plumbing, electrical, paint,flooring, cabinet install tile etc.) They kept true to the timeline and each step of the way was done on time. Any concerns or changes I brought to Kai were immediately addressed.
His employees showed up on time & ready to work. And most importantly the finish quality is very good as well.

We had First Finishers do a major kitchen and bath remodel for us 5 years ago. They came highly recommended and we have in turn recommended them to our friends and family. About a year ago I noticed some problems with the tile in my bathroom and contacted John at the Showroom and he said to keep an eye on it. The problems persisted and we ultimately discovered that there was a manufacturer defect in the glass tile product. Kai and John were able to work together with the product manufacturer to remove the defective product and replace the entire bathtub tile at no cost to us. In this day and age it is hard enough to find quality workmanship, but it is priceless to find a company who stands behind both their product and their craft. We will definitely use First Finishers for future project and appreciate the integrity of the company.

Kai and his whole team were great! We had some water damage in our kitchen and it was quite the long process to get insurance to payout. They gave us everything we needed to give to our insurance, and as soon as we were able to move forward they fit us in their schedule since they knew we’ve been waiting so long to get the damages repaired. The team was very attentive to the details, great with the last minute changes, and helpful with all my millions of questions. We are so happy with how everything turned out. We would definitely recommend First Finishers if you need some work done!

These folks renovated almost my entire condo, and I'm glad I chose them. They were professional, polite, and always able and willing to answer questions.

Kai and First Finishers team remodeled and updated entire house and we are thrilled with the outcome. Everyone on the team is professional, friendly, knowledgeable and takes great pride in their work, and our home shows it! All the subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, roofers, etc) they work with are equally detailed and careful about their work.

Kai prepares a detailed quote and schedule, and they moved mountains to remain on schedule when our older home through a few wrenches in the project. Other contractors rolled their eyes at some of the custom work I wanted, but Kai just grinned and said this will be fun to figure out....and his team did. I do project management work, so I really enjoyed being on the receiving end of a well developed and executed plan.

Kai worked the project around us living in one room while the entire house was being remodeled which saved large expense of finding alternate living space with our pets for 3 months. They are neat and clean which is a blessing when you are living on the jobsite.

They are affiliated with The Showroom in Yelm where we selected our cabinets, hardware, flooring, quartz counter tops, and backsplash time. So we just picked out our choices and they were there and installed on Kai's schedule. No effort on our part.

We contracted First Finishers for a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel. Our home is unique and non-standard and was very challenging. First Finishers took the job and we are extremally happy with the results. Kai and crew were professional, communicative, and above all else addressed all questions and concerns timely. We had a great experience working with Kai and the First Finishers team for a bathroom remodel and dry wall repair. Kai was incredibly responsive and we appreciated his patience when having to deal with our home owners insurance contact person. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Kai was professional, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and responsive and informative every step of the way in the repair of a leaking toilet upstairs that leaked through the downstairs ceiling.

Four different sets of sub contractors worked on our house, and without a single exception, they were on time, did terrific work in the time frames they provided, left our home immaculately clean, and like Kai, were friendly, professional, and explained exactly what they were doing.

Every person I dealt with from First Finishers was clearly committed to doing whatever was needed to provide outstanding work and customer service. I can and will recommend this company without reservation.

Called them to inquire about renovating a small bathroom and kitchen counters and floor and, apparently, they called back and said they couldn't be bothered with such a small job (paraphrased, of course). That's rather insulting as I would figure that's a pretty decent job, but I guess not. Oh, well. At least the receptionist was courteous and called back, so I give them credit for that.

Not all heroes show up in capes and riding white horses. Some of them wear baseball hats and drive work vans. I was in dire need of saving from my late '80s monstrosity of the kitchen. It was bad. The previous owner fancied himself a handyman, so it was so much worse than being just a dated kitchen. I must have seen about five different contractors for estimates, and ultimately went with First Finishers based on their reviews and my gut feeling (which totally could have been the previous nights dinner, but that's neither here nor there). I told Kai what I wanted to do and how much I wanted to spend. Thankfully, he did not laugh in my face and came back with an estimate that was very close to my budget. He worked very closely with The Showroom (who I went to for my cabinets, floors and countertops) and kept me informed every step of the way. The whole process took about a month and the crew stayed either ahead or on schedule with every aspect of the renovation. I know kitchen remodels are supposed to be a nightmare, but with this crew, the whole experience was downright pleasant! Everyone was so cool to work with, even the subcontractors. I'm not lying when I say I actually enjoyed having them in my house and was a little sad when the project was complete. My new kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. It's literally like I am in a brand new house and I am in love with what they did. I almost hesitate to write a glowing review because I want them to be available for any upcoming projects that I might have! Who am I though, to deny anyone else a First Finisher experience? If you are looking for someone to handle your home renovations, look no further. Kai and his crew are amazing and will absolutely give you your dream house. 100% recommend.

Kai and his crew has done amazing work for our floorings. They worked day and night and even weekends to finish the job on time for us. Would recommend them to anyone!

We cannot say enough GREAT things about our experience with Kai and his team at First Finishers. They display integrity, excellent communication and unbeatable quality work. We will be using them for all future projects. We hired him and his team for an unexpected shower rebuild in a newer home and from the first conversation he followed through with everything that was discussed. If you don’t think you can trust a general contractor you can trust this one!

They did kitchen tile backsplash for us and the work was so detail-oriented and quality that we used them to redesign and remodel a custom-made shower that had 30-year-old tile job and was growing mushrooms. We will no longer use any other contractor/company. Got the recommendation from a really detail-oriented hardwood floor guy who said he was happy with work they did for his home so figured they were worth checking out.

Our whole experience was phenomenal, starting from their itemized and transparent quote with realistic expectations for timeline and when they would be able to begin the project. We received in advance a detailed schedule of activities with exact dates or range of dates for each item. Most importantly we were shocked to find out they were actually able to hold to that schedule! And this, despite finding unanticipated problems with our bathroom including rot in the frame and inner aspect of exterior wall, which requiring rebuilding/framing and roofing/siding replacement (surprise for them and us!) Somehow they were able to get supplies and get people out to repair all of that within hours/days and STILL keep to the schedule they had provided. With the kitchen tile there was one single issue with some additional tile needing to be ordered which caused a slight delay but they were so kind and professional about it and the delay was pretty minimal - no big deal at all. With this current project they were so ethical and reasonable about minimizing additional cost as much as they reasonably could for the unexpected work, which was also a welcome surprise.

Really quality work from this company with employees and sub-contractors you can really count on. A breath of fresh air after some of the prior experiences we had.

Okay, so will dat myself.., BUT, OMG what an awesome guy Kai is. He was very responsive to concern, not only described in great detail process but helped walk us through what I felt was a major home repair.

His team of subcontractors are very professional, on time, responsive and most of all respectful and skilled. Shout out to John at the showroom... very thorough, kind and easy to work with.

We look forward to continued work with First Finishers LLC as we move forward with home improvements.

Kai Fyrst and his team did a remodel of our kitchen and installed all new appliances. Also replaced doors, cabinets, crown molding, trim, lighting, etc. Extensive remodel handled with great precision. We were so impressed with the professionalism of all the employers and sub contractors, we decided to hire them again to remodel the garage and create a craft room for my wife! I can’t say enough about this wonderful organic and their people. I will have some more work for them once they finish the garage!

Where to begin.......First Finishers has exceeded my expectations in every aspect and I will absolutely recommend them to anyone building or remodeling. I still can’t believe what an awesome experience we have had with them. All I have ever heard about general contractors are horror stories so I was nervous but FF quickly set our minds at ease and delivered on every promise. After a smolder in my attic last may that resulted in having to remove all the ceilings, insulation, wiring, etc in my house, I was put in contact with Tim of First Finishers. He came out, assessed the situation and assembled his team. Tim was very patient with my pestering and asking a plethora of questions. What small things that needed corrected after each stage were efficiently handled. I will definitely use First Finishers again, but I'm hoping it will be under less distressing circumstances.

I left a message on a project I wanted to get completed with an electrician. I got a call back within 30 min By Mary Frances , sorry probably spelled that wrong, and she was upfront and honest that it would be more cost efficient to go direct with the electrician and save some money, about 20%. So overall good first impression.

Driving behind one of their vans and it shot a huge rock at my car and cracked my windshield. Called the number on the back of the van and straight to some strange mailbox... Bummer don’t even have my new plates yet. Just bought car and driving on temporary tag. Was hoping to see if the company would help with cost and good faith.

First Finishers LLC of Yelm are AWESOME! We had our 20 year old oak floors refinished and we love them, even better than when we had them installed. The two workers were considerate of my husband's health needs, put up with our 3 barking chihuahuas and kept us informed of their progress. Kai, one of the bosses, was very fair in pricing and kept us informed of the process. Thank you gentleman for your professionalism, your workmanship and your kindness. The only problem now is we don't want to leave our home, you made it so beautiful. We would highly recommend this company to any one.

First Finishers just completed a five week job at my house that included a complete master bathroom remodel, significant kitchen upgrade work, and new floors throughout the home (on both floors and stairs). Also, lots of fussy tile work, some electrical odd and ends...a hodge podge of different things. This meant plumbers, painters, cabinet guys, electricians, etc...all kinds of people coming out to my house.

First off, this place looks gorgeous. They did a really good, quality job on all the work. They know what they're doing. Their guys are polite, professional, would stay late to get things done and did their best to leave my house as tidy as possible before leaving for the night. I initially felt a little odd having so many strange people in my house for so many weeks without being here all day to keep an eye on things, but quickly got over that - everyone was so pleasant and professional to work with.

We got other bids, and couldn't beat First Finishers for the price compared to the other two we spoke with. Given the extent and multiple types of work to be done, we were very pleasantly surprised to come in a few hundred dollars shy of the bid.

There were some hiccups - frustrating, but given all the little odds and ends that needed to be done that is to be expected. I give two big thumbs up to Kai and his crew for rectifying each and every little thing that came up, usually within the same day or the very next day. Can't ask for much more than that.

I saw another review on here about not painting trim nicely - I will say that my trim was very well touched up and those painting guys were as methodical as anyone could want. They were very intent on making sure every line and coating was perfect, and spent a ton of time to make that happen.

I would hire them again without a second thought.

We have hired First Finishers for 3 different jobs ai our condo.
The first job was to install approximately 500 sq ft of marble tiles i our laundry room, entry way and kitchen. The work was performed with great care by true craftsmen. The result was a beautiful floor and we are very happy with their work.
The second job was to install a backsplash in our galley kitchen. The installation was performed quickly and with great care. Again, the result was a beautiful backsplash and we are very happy with their work.
The third job was a new shower cabinet in the guest bath. The new shower enclosure was fabricated by Onyx and the new shower was by Grohe. Again,the installation was performed quickly and with great care. The new shower system is marvelous to use and the new shower enclosure is beautiful.
We heartily recommend First Finishers to anyone seeking capable and hard working remodeling services. We will certainly hire them again for future jobs.

I hired First Finishers via Lowe's to complete a kitchen and bathroom remodel in Feb of 2017. They ended up taking care of some major rot damage for us as well that was found throughout the process. There are pros and cons with every contracting team and this is what I can let you know:

Pros: Kai is excellent at communicating with you throughout the project and does his best to keep on a timely schedule. They were definitely fair priced in my opinion after receiving several bids. I was very happy with his tilers and electricians. Really everyone I came across with was enjoyable to work with. They would be willing to come by on weekends or stay late to stay on schedule. Overall I was very happy with how my kitchen and master bathroom turned out. Due to all the rot we found we also sought legal action against the previous owner of our home and Kai was more than willing to do whatever we needed to help us for that.

Cons: I did read another review about them needing improvement on finish work and I would have to agree. Everything was really good in my opinion except for touch ups on paint and interior trim work. I found trim to have dents or scratches and touch up paint that just looked pretty bad. Basically when the lights are on you can see every little spot because instead of covering the one nail hole there would be patches of whatever wax/filler was used. Of course this stuff was shinier than the actual trim so it's pretty noticeable. HOWEVER, when Kai became aware of these concerns (months later) he was more than willing to send someone out for more touch up, but by that point I was doing it myself because I accepted I just wouldn't be happy with the result otherwise. The crew also didn't clean up that great where cabinets were installed. Dust isn't an issue, but when drawers and doors are installed on the cabinets I would think it be nice if the chunks of wood could have been vacuumed up before they became hard to reach. Also some miscommunications occurred with his employees about what we wanted, but those were taken care of as well.

Despite the cons I still give them a 5 star rating because if they made mistakes they were more than willing to rectify them which I find very respectable. I only list the cons so that future clients know to stay on top of those things. Kai is more than willing to make sure the customer is satisfied. Thank you First Finishers!

I hired First Finishers to dry out my house after I had a leak. They removed all of the old damaged flooring and trim and brought equipment in to dry everything out. The crew was very professional, clean and efficient.
I was overwhelmed in the beginning, but after the first day dealing with them I was able to relax. They did an amazing job on the floor installation as well as the trim.

Our experience with First Finishers and an associate, Roofing Pros has been the best imaginable. Sure there are the unexpected challenges along the way, but these are to be expected in a remodel and all were met and resolved to our satisfaction.

The 4 projects have been: 1) Roofing and resolving original design problems, 2) Replace the front sidewalk and porch steps and kitchen counters and back splash, 3) Remove and replace back deck with fancy concrete patios and covered deck and 4) Remove and replace shower and upstairs flooring.

Each project has produced results that are eye catching. We, with First Finishers help, have made our home a much more enjoyable place to live.

First Finishers refinished my hardwood floors, after years of abuse and neglect. They did an excellent job. Highly recommend them for any future work.

First Finishers installed kitchen appliances for me which required the pre existing kitchen cabinetry to be removed then altered and then refitted. A tough job. It came out perfectly. The very expensive ovens were meticulously handled with white glove precision leaving the kitchen looking like a piece of art work from a 5 star kitchen show. At the same time I had an electrical nightmare in our cabin which had sockets burning out and catching fire. That was sorted out for me too.
The entire experience with FF was professional, forthright and top notch. Definitely recommended..!!

We had three rooms converted into a great room and two bathrooms redone. We just told them our ideas, and they went to work - all this was done long distance. They emailed, called and texted with questions and suggestions throughout the process. Everything turned out as we pictured it or better!

First Finishers to me has been 5 stars out of 5 stars. I have had experiences with other contractors and in my estimation First Finishers is first rate. Kai has always addressed my questions and concerns and is always very approachable. The guys working with him are prompt, courteous and professional. I have NEVER felt like I was an imposition or that he didn't have time for me or my husband-and when you are spending your money, that is VERY important. We first had all of the flooring replaced with hardwood throughout our home, then we had our bathroom remodelled, after that, a walk in closet.In addition, we had a new security gate placed at our entrance, and now we are having our house re-sided and painted. His bids were competitive and fair, I would recommend his company to anyone who needs to have remodelling done. We have not used anyone else since we have discovered him and will continue to use his services in the future-we are fortunate to have him working on our home.

First Finishers installed new fir wood floors, sanded the old floor so it looked brand new and coordinated the installation of granite counter tops that look beautiful. They also installed closets and coordinated painting. Everything was done to perfection and in a timely, courteous and conscientious manner which limited the inconvenience and displacement of the renovation in our living space.
Their attention to detail, communication and execution are excellent – we will definitely use them again and highly recommend this impeccable customer focused company to any homeowner.

I used that company for home building services. I need to build an additional room to my house and we do some space at the backyard for that purpose.
