The product seems to be of good quality, although I don't have the project finished yet. My impression of customer service is what prompted me to rate them at 3 stars. My experience may have been the exception, but I was given a written quote yet, when I returned to make the purchase I was told that the quote was inaccurate and I was charged more than I expected. My quote listed exactly what I had requested but was not worth the paper it was written on. I tried to negotiate a compromise or reduction in shipping costs, but was offered nothing. Delivery was supposed to be within two weeks. After three weeks I called to see what the delay was and they had "forgotten" me. When we set a new delivery date the delivery went perfect, their delivery guy really knows how to provide customer service. However, the product comes with no instructions or parts list, so you learn as you build. I discovered that all of the rafters were one inch too long causing the walls to be completely out of plumb. When I called the factory and talked to Brett he implied that this had never happened before and everything should fit. I borrowed a chop-saw, trimmed all of the rafters and the walls are now plumb. Then when I went to install the rear wall braces they were both eight inches too short. I called Brett again and again he implied that this had never happened before. He was kind enough to allow me to drive 20 miles to his outlet and exchange the short braces for longer ones that I will cut to fit. When I picked up the braces and showed pictures of how things did not fit I was again told this had never happened before and basically sent on my way. I worked in sales for over forty years and have made mistakes myself. However wherever I worked we took care of the customer and if they had to drive 20 miles to make an exchange for a problem that we created, we would offer to negotiate a refund of some agreeable amount as an expression of our gratitude for their business. That did not happen with anyone at Tin Men Supply. Again, the product seems to be of good quality, just be ready to solve any issues yourself.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
