We couldn't be happier with the service. There was a bit of a wait, personally on our end to schedule the weatherization around her renters but well worth it. They recommended the best places for weatherization in our basement and attic that would save us money in the long run. Not only was the work fantastic, it ended up lowering our oil bill and install heat pumps. They submitted the paperwork with Efficiency VT for a rebate giving us a few thousand back. These guys are great, definitely recommend.

Very easy to work with. Gave me options and didn’t try to upsell me, so costs were reasonable. From start to finish the team was very professional, efficient, on schedule, and cleaned up well.

I also had an issue where I had already paid another auditor that is partnered with another company and Farnum worked with me to use their partner. Apparently this is how it works. I would have thought the auditors and insulation companies were completely independent. The auditor partner for Farnum was much better than the first too. She was more thorough, transparent, and gave me a great report showing our air leaks.

I would absolutely recommend them and will use them again if we remove our wall panels.

Farnum replaced and upgraded insulation in our 1800s home a year ago and did a great job. We chose them because of the level of detail and time Jeff put into the estimate and job planning. Since then, they have responded to every one of my calls or emails almost immediately, and have helped with issues around ANOTHER contractor’s work (not Farnum). Extremely reliable.

They are punctual, professional and their workmanship is stellar. They adapt their schedule around yours to the best of their ability. Their finish job is the best in the business! Farnum Insulators did a great job from start to finish with our weatherization projects. We couldn't do everything at once, so the team helped us think through a priority list and a path forward. The second half of the project was just completed, and we couldn't be happier with the whole team. The Farnum crew had to work in concert with a roofing crew in order to gain access for insulating a space above the garage. It all went great. We'd recommend them to anyone looking for weatherization help.

Farm was terrific. They did a big job sealing and insulating our old basement. It was a tricky and difficult job with lots of hard-to-reach places in a pretty unpleasant space, and the results are great.

John was great to work with through Farnum. He helped me set up a plan of attack for my great-grandfather's home. And Jimmy and Robert both came out to install the insulation in my basement. They were a really great team. Highly recommend.

We’re accustomed to hearing colorful language, some cursing at rough bits (totally understandable), and frankly, an ‘oh well…’ attitude towards things hard to do, requiring extra work and imagination. Never happened with this team.

We were upstairs laughing at the fun the guys had working together, working through problems and coming up with hard and imaginative solutions. What a great experience!

We have built two homes and besides the foundation and roof we have done it all ourselves.
Being perfectionist it makes it had to hire someone that fills our expectations.
We decided to get a quote from Farnham to insulate under a Sunporch that only has 3 1/2 foot clearance.
Jeff was on time and very knowledgeable. The crew ,James and Jason did a superior job with the prep, the spray foam insulation and cleaned up better than I would have. We are extremely pleased that we had Farnham do our Insulation job. We highly recommend their professional service.

Met with Chad Farnum and Jeff Dunbar about re-insulating our log cabin. We decided to go with them as they were the most professional and communicative company we found. Our project involved not only Farnum Insulators but also a carpenter (Dan Boyd) and the roofer (Brattleboro Sheetmetal). They all kept in-touch with each other so the project was completed with a hitch.

I needed to get my basement insulation removed, the rim joists spray foamed, and get new attic insulation. I got several quotes from different insulation companies, but decided to go with Farnum because they were really knowledgable (beyond just insulation), they used quality insulation and their prices were fair.

The quality of their work was amazing and they were really careful to keep the work area clean. Jeff and/or Chad showed up every day to go over everything in the morning and to answer any questions. They really took the time to make sure the job was done correctly. You could tell they took pride in doing the job right without cutting corners.

They were really respectful of my house and took extra care to keep everything clean. They laid down drop cloths, contained the work area with plastic sheeting, and when they were done, they cleaned up after themselves. I'm pretty sure they left the place cleaner than it was.

Other contractors who come to the house have complimented their work. They constructed a foam box over my attic fan. One inspector said he had never seen anyone actually take the time to really seal up all the edges and make it fully air tight, he said it was true craftsmanship.

If I could, I would give them 10 stars!

Farnum was a pleasure to work with. In a year that was extremely busy for everyone in the industry, while also dealing with a global pandemic, they were professional, timely, and fairly priced. They transformed our crawl space from a dingy wet hole in the ground, to a warm dry clean space. Afterwards, there was an immediate difference in the floor temperature of our house, along with a very noticeable savings in heating costs. The blower door test they preformed confirmed that the overall air tightness of the house improved by 20%. We are very VERY happy with the work they preformed and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Chad came to help us out with insulating our bathroom, a kitchen wall, and crawl space. His was professional and knowledgeable and gave us advice on how to insulate the crawl space that would be most efficient. His team was excellent to work with. They were friendly, efficient and timely. I never thought I could get so excited over insulation but the work they did was amazing. Farnum Insulators insulated or attic and rim joists last summer, and it has made a world of difference this winter in keeping the house warm, with less energy. We also don't have any more cold spots and drafts. No more extra blankets needed any more! The basement is not heated, and is staying cool but not cold this winter.
During the hot summer last year, we noticed also, that the house didn't get hot like it did before the insulation.
They are highly recommend!

The entire crew at Farnum Insulators was professional and knowledgeable, and they kept us up-to-date on what to expect with our project. Our basement is warmer than it's ever been in the winter. Now, in January - two months after getting the insulation done - we've used less heating oil than the same period last year, even though this winter is MUCH colder (based on degree days - not memory!), and our living space is noticeably cozier.

Chad was very helpful in helping me diagnose my problem and the solution. They worked efficiently and got the job done in just a bit longer than initially estimated. The only issue I had was that they left their sign in my driveway long after they had finished the work, and I had to deal with it.

We've done two projects with Farnum. Both times we had experience. Last time I had a small spray job performed on very short notice and I am very happy.

Since having the insulation installed (some foam and some cellulose) the issues we had faced with high heating costs and rapid loss of heat have been eliminated

Farnum redid my attic insulation, determined that the wall insulation I'd asked them to quote wasn't necessary and added a continuous vapor barrier in my fieldstone and dirt basement. The were very pleasant and efficient and had excellent followup for last minute questions at the end of the job.

The guys did a great job insulating our attic and basement. In the attic, they had to remove the old insulation, which can be a tough job because of how small the attic is, but they got it all. They were clean and efficient throughout. We can already feel a difference in much better the house is holding the heat in, with the new insulation. Thank you.

Outstanding work
You get what you pay for. Farnum Insulators are not the cheapest firm around, but the quality of work is outstanding. House had no insulation and they were able to get R-59 in the attic. Wrapped the basement. When I first bought the house, the attic was hot, hot, hot. After insulating, the entire house is cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter. True professionals

The process of insulating one's home can have many moving parts. It begins with evaluation, estimates and scheduling. Financing and rebates are often important to many homeowners. Of course, there's the job itself, requiring the crew to work for many days inside and outside your home. Through it all, Farnum Insulators provided excellent support and service in all parts of the process. The crews were careful, neat and polite. It was clear to us that Farnum was dedicated to treating their customers well.

Farnum Insulators wherever attentive and professional in their service and fair in their prices. They were helpful in advising me about Efficiency Vermont incentives and were very pleasant to deal with. The 4 star rating (as opposed to 5) is because they had to return 3 times to amend the lining in our basement. It was clear that our basement was challenging and Farnum Insulators were very willing to continue their efforts to get the job done right.

Farnum insulated my attic and crawl space in 2015. We immediately felt the difference - our house was so much more comfortable! Some of the work was adjacent to my baby’s nursery, which required the crew to pass through and stage their equipment there. The job took 3 or 4 days, but each day I came home and they had cleaned up so well I could barely tell they had been there! I highly recommend Farnum Insulators!

Best decision ever to insulate Fitzgerald Travel this past Spring. Farnum was fast, efficient and after they were finished, you wouldn't even know they were there. My office so far this December at Fitzgerald Travel has been so warm and comfortable. We cant wait to have them come back and start some other parts of our very drafty 187 home.

From the first visit to the finished projects (Indow windows and spray foam insulation) we received timely, professional, and friendly service from everyone involved (the owners and workers). They left everything spotless! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and we'd definitely use them again.

I own a 130 yr old home. Farnum sprayed insulating foam on the brick walls of my basement. It virtually eliminated dampness that had been seeping into the basement. They also insulated the walls of a newly constructed kitchen with foam and cellulose. Along the way I was offered choices regarding methods and costs... so no surprises.
And I can't say enough about the crew that did the job. They were courteous, efficient and good natured thru a sometimes difficult process.
But they cleaned up beautifully and went out of their way to be neat.

The little cabin on my property holds its woodstove heat so much better since insulated. Chad took all the time I needed to answer questions as well as being responsive via email. The workers were friendly and efficient.

Very pleased with their service and the quality of the work. When the temperature dropped into single digits we had been experiencing a frozen pipe in an upstairs bathroom due to poor attic insulation. After we had the attic insulated the frozen pipe problem became a thing of the past. The foam insulation in the basement has also helped to maintain a comfortable temperature on the first floor. Wish we had done this many years ago. Definitely recommend this to any homeowner looking to conserve energy and reduce heating costs.

I have had Farnum Insulators do a few jobs for me over the years, and I will not consider using another company. Farnum is efficient, well versed in the newest technologies and they are clean. The later being overlooked by some, I find it a hallmark of a companies business ethic. Farnum also provides many services beyond just installing insulation, one of the most significant is their thermal imaging camera. With which one can quickly diagnose where on a structures walls there are insulation deficiencies. Look elsewhere at your own peril, Farnum is the only game in town!

We just had Indows installed by Farnum around the front door in our 210-yr old house. Amazed that they are completely inconspicuous and allow the charm of our antique glass to shine through the added layer of insulation, even around a curved window above the door!! Now I just have to stop bumping my head against them....... they are that clear!!!
