Don is fantastic. The team is professional and friendly. The gutters have been up for 6 months and are working great, despite heavy rain and recent snow. Thanks guys!!

First Don Soechting 20 years ago after my basement flooded due to overflow from gutter on my 4 year old home. His team applied gutter covering that worked perfectly until we had a new roof installed. The roofing people assured us they would have no problem keeping the guttering properly aligned etc. Unfortunately, that was not true. The first good rain showed leaking along every corner where the topping was not fixed properly and a downspout leaking terribly. I had contacted Don prior to the roofing work to begin to ask about the topping safety in roof replacement. Don had quoted a fee for removal of the topping, cleaning it and reattaching upon completion of the new roof. I felt the cost of that was more than I could afford and decided to trust the company putting on my new roof to protect the current gutter topping... a decision I regretted. So I contacted Don and explained what had happened. He came out to assess within 24 hours and told me it was not uncommon for this to happen and that often the entire gutter covering had to be replaced. Don's son came out the next day to look more closely and check out the second floor roof. Because of misalignment and some of the topping had been not only misaligned but nailed in place while placing the new roofing. Within 2-3 days his crew came out to remove the old topping and replace with new. All of which cost more because of my wrong decision earlier.
I can tell the viewer that Don Soechtinig Gutterworks may not be the least expensive business in Charlottesille, but his company's value is evident in the skill, the quality and the honesty of he and his employees to perform their services. PS We had a heavy rain the day after the job was completed. No worries... a dry basement!

I was referred to Gutterworks by the company that put my new roof on my home after their normally contracted company was less than reliable. After calling to make the appointment for someone to come out and give me an estimate, I was surprised when the owner, Don, showed up the very next day. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and wonderful to my five year old son; he even gifted him a small geode he had with him in the truck, which he added to his rock collection and made his day.
I never felt like Don was out to get my money. It really just felt like he knew his trade and would perform quality work. I am pleased with the overall look and quality of the product that was delivered. The crew was also very punctual, professional, and efficient. Don’t listen to the negative reviews; you will not go wrong with Gutterworks.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.

Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
