Dolphin insulation is unscrupulous. When they were blowing in the insulation for my 1180 home, I asked about putting the TYVEK back on. They said Mass Save wouldn't allow it. They lied. I am a senior from California. I didn't know any better until recently. Now I have to pay to remove the siding and put it on. There is no rating low enough

Dolfin completed the installation of cellulose insulation in our attic in October and did a wonderful job! The quality of their work was excellent as was their cleanup efforts. The project leader was professional and competent as were his team members. We experienced minor disruption during the week long project and it was a pleasure working with them.

They stopped by to give an estimate for a difficult attic insulation job and seemed friendly, with a can do attitude. Then, MassSave told me Dolphin stopped working with MassSave, so I couldn't get my rebates if I used them. Dolphin didn't bother to tell me about this change and never responded when I emailed them to express disappointment. I wouldn't use them now even if I didn't want the rebate.

We did our insulation to our newly bought house through MassSave and the contracting company appointed was Dolphin insulation. Insulation work was up to the mark, Dolphin did a very nice job on it. But during the process some of the siding of the house broke into pieces, since we just bought the house we did not have any extra siding shingles. Thing is you have to sign a disclaimer saying if anything happens during the insulation process it is not Dolphin's issue, as a new owner of the house I signed it. And now I have broken siding and planning to redo the whole siding for $$$$$. I guess when these things happen someone from MassSave or contracting company has to take ownership and resolve it.

Our insulation works so well that our oil company called us to see if our oil system was working OK since it looked like we were not using a lot of oil. I recently used Dolphin to insulate a portion of our condo where cold air was drifting in. The area was hard to reach but the guys did a great job getting the insulation and then blowing in the remaining insulation. We have already noticed a big difference. They left the place broom clean. Would recommend.

I came across the company through a search of a building product and decided to give them a try when Mass Save offers them as a contractor for an attic insulation. The crew of Chris, Ryan, Troy and Jack were top notch every step of the way but what happened next separates a good company from the mediocre ones. We noticed that several hvac outlets had little to no air coming out after they finished and I found two areas where the supply plenum were damaged and caused the duct joints to open. The owner Chris and production manager Dave responded right away, took ownership and looked into remedial options. Dave came next day to assess the damage, re-seal all the joints and life is good again. I have been in construction and facilities managemwnt for over two decades and understand that things happen but a great company big or small will never shy away from the issues and always solve them with a can-do attitude. I will definitely use them again for other projects around the house and recommend them to anyone.

We recently worked with Dolphin to insulate the attic/walls of our antique home with blown-in cellulose. We had a wonderful experience. Everyone we worked with, from the field crew to the office staff, were helpful, responsive, and just really easy to work with. They also worked collaboratively and seamlessly with our carpenter, electrician and plasterer to ensure that our whole project was done right and efficiently. We would strongly recommend them, and plan on working with them again as we slowly improve the efficiency and comfort of our old home.

We cannot say enough good things about Dolphin Insulation. They replaced the existing insulation in our entire house and addressed some mold related issues we came across along the way. From our very first contact right through the installation process everyone we came into contact with was professional, informative and very helpful. Dolphin were upfront on their timing for the project, in what was their busiest time of the year, and called us ahead of time to let us know they were running a day or two late.

All the crew who came to our house throughout the process were polite, friendly, hardworking and took the time to answer any questions we had. They were flexible and worked around other contractors who were in our house at the same time. Everyday they cleaned up after themselves as best they could. Amanda the owner even stopped by towards the end to bring over some parts they need to protect lights in our family room.

It is also clear everyone believes in the technology they use, and that what they do is more than just a job for the crew. As far as we are concerned this is the best and greenest insulation solution out there. It takes time to install but it is well worth it. No toxic fumes and you don't have to move out of your house.

I gathered many estimates to remove my old installation in the attic along with the floor boards and new cellulose installation added. Dolphin Insulation made the most sense from vibes, to price, to knowledge. Karen came out to give me an estimate and she was so genuine and down to earth as well as Chris and Dustin who did all the hard labor. It took 3 days to get the job done from removing, to sealing to installing blown in cellulose spray in attic and fiber glass batts along the rim joist of my basement. So many wonderful things to say about this company! From the first time I called to see about scheduling I was blown away with the helpfulness of the individual I spoke with. I requested six quotes for insulation and air sealing work and Dolphin was the best. They were the only ones to appropriately emphasize the air sealing, include removal of the existing insulation to allow for the air sealing to be done properly and generate the most efficient result, and conduct pre and post blower door tests. The team was friendly, professional, motivated to do a great job and as excited as I was to see the results of the blower door test at the end. A great experience!

Where do I begin! Fabulous company. Incredibly responsive. Beyond professional. Karen at dolphin worked with me for months to get things set up and explained the process of insulation removal and installation. Troy and his crew couldn’t have been more kind or professional. Not to mention extremely Covid safe. They were in every corner of my home and I couldn’t have trusted them more. Most interesting to me was listening to them speak to each other when they didn’t think anyone was listening. Nothing but respect, collaboration and Active problem-solving.. They all worked hard and were respectful of our schedule. When there was an issue with the town messing up on a construction permit, it was taken care of within hours so that work continue as planned. They completed the job in four days instead of the five that was budgeted Finally, a light switch was not working after they left. Troy came back Assess the situation and said if they couldn’t fix it they would have electrician come back and do it. Five stars in my book on all counts!!!

Dolphin insulated the basement rim joist, removed existing attic floorboards and insulation, air-sealed, blew in 16" (settled) cellulose insulation, and built a new storage platform above that in my 125-year-old house. I went with Dolphin in part because they didn't just limit themselves to proposing the cheapest treatment with the most immediate, modest pay-off (rim joist insulation). Instead they noted that effective air-sealing to stop the basement-through-attic airflow (stack effect) could only be done by removing the existing attic flooring and insulation first. It struck me as a do-it-right approach. If I had opted to give up the attic storage space or to build back less, the job would have been a few thousand dollars cheaper, and the payback period probably under ten years. As it is, I don't expect fuel savings to balance the cost for perhaps twenty years, but the house is more comfortable, I can replace my current oil furnace with a system that is sized smaller, and I'm lowering my carbon footprint more significantly than I would have otherwise.

Dolphin was professional, communicated well, and were very flexible in adjusting the schedule several times, even breaking up their visits to account for complications in the work (more about that below). I also observed their work at several stages and feel confident that it was of good quality. The difference in comfort is marked: the second floor that was previously several degrees cooler than the first is now the same temperature. Very exciting!

There were two complications in this job, due completely to the age of the house and not the contractor. First, the attic access was via a hatch and sliding pull-down stairs. This needed to be replaced (as noted from the start by Dolphin) with a more modern folding-stair design to permit full-depth insulation in the former glide-path of the stairs and the installation of an insulated hatch cover.

The second complication was the discovery, after Dolphin started work, of active knob and tube electrical wiring in the attic floor, feeding ceiling fixtures and outlets on the second floor. This needed to be deactivated in order for Dolphin to complete its work, not mention because it doesn't meet code and is a home insurance liability. I had heretofore believed the house's original knob and tube wiring to be completely removed. Although it was a good thing to learn the truth and to rectify it, it required several thousand unanticipated dollars of electrician labor to do so.

Dolphin made good-faith efforts to locate contractors to take care of each of these complications, but they were not hired to be general contractors, and in the end it was my responsibility to arrange a resolution in each case.

I mention this not as a strike against Dolphin (which had to incur extra costs in rescheduling, delaying, and dividing up its work days and sending and retrieving a dumpster a second time), but to encourage others planning for this kind of work on an old house to be realistic about how the scope of work can balloon unexpectedly! Dolphin was reassuring, understanding, and flexible throughout.

The chill is gone! Used Dolphin to insulate bonus room above our garage. Being over unconditioned space the room will always have certain insulation challenges. Dolphin helped with 2 separate jobs. Dense packing garage ceiling three years ago - then as part of Mass Save program air sealing and insulating attic and knee walls recently. After completion of the most recent work, the room is now considerably warmer, holds heat better and no longer has the biting chill when occupied. The Dolphin crew was hard working, communicative and cleaned up daily. I also found them responsive when I initially inquired and they took their time walking me through the process. My work was done through the MassSave program. I was assigned Dolphin Insulation and I am so glad I was! The team arrived on-time the day of my project and team lead Chris walked me around the house and explained everything they planned to do. The work got started and as they moved through the tests and installations they kept me up on the progress. When the job was complete ahead of the estimated time, I was shown all the work and they made sure I was happy with the clean up process before they left. I have since had the work inspected by MassSave and they said it was an excellent job. If I knew of someone in the Littleton area who needed insulation work I would absolutely recommend Dolphin.

They were very flexible working to our schedule and arrived despite it being a snow day. They chipped in clearing the snow and dug their way in to carry out the work. We hired Dolphin Insulation through MassSave. We started having issue with our damper in the Master bedroom which happened after Dolphin insulation finished their job. We called Dolphin insulation to come and take a look at it. They took some pictures when they visited our place. We brought a technician to fix the broken damper, and paid for the whole thing (around $460). Now when we send emails or call them to reimburse the bill, they keep ignoring us. So, we submitted a complaint through MassSave.
Their quality of work and responsiveness is awful, and I DO NOT recommend them to anyone.

Dolphin helped us with blown-in cellulose, proper-vent, air sealing and a attic door cover. They were very good. They listened to our concerns, they were accommodating, clean and communicated well - both on site and over the phone. Very good folks.

Dolphin has been really good to us. They came and did one of our two units (filled walls with cellulose) in two days. They made holes from the outside of the house to the inside to fill the rafter bays. When they left, they fixed the holes and were so neat that we could barely tell that they'd been there. They were on time, professional, and nice to our cats. We were collecting temperature data before and after they came, and it was really neat seeing how the temperature stabilized. Instead of seeing jagged lines (as temperature dropped with Boston's cold and then increased with our heating system), the lines became smooth and the temperature swings in the house became less of a roller coaster. We were really happy with the result. They were also really kind to us when we messed up their schedule, and helped us with rescheduling.

Dolphin Insulation offered more than the other companies we spoke with. They test your house before and after install to show the improvement, guide you through financing options and take time to explain the process. They did exactly what they promised and on time. The work area was cleaned each day and installers were respectful and professional. Couldn't be happier :)

Very knowledgeable. Understood what I wanted, and had suggestions. Willing to work with me on what I wanted. Would have given 5 stars however the cleanup was not stellar. I had to spend several hours vacuuming all of the cellulose from the basement walls and floor after they "cleaned up".

When I was researching what company to hire, I read a lot of horror stories of insulation blow outs which are common as the cellulose can get through some small cracks. This happened in a couple spots and they came in and cleaned everything up really well. Crew was very knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and neat. The office staff was fantastic, extremely responsive and will communicate with you in a way that’s convenient to your schedule. They scheduled the work to add insulation to our attic pretty promptly and were specific about when they'd arrive. Ryan gave me a call that day to let me know he'd arrive in a few minutes, since they were running a little behind schedule. I was impressed that he did the courteous thing and called, even though it was less than a twenty minute delay.
Ryan, Mike, and the other two crew members were friendly and courteous when working in our home. They laid mats on the floor and stairs to minimize mess. Mike answered my questions about the insulation work specifically and clearly. They left no debris or trace of their work in our house.
They worked quickly and efficiently. I checked their work afterward and it looked good. I was very pleased.
I subsequently had them back for another insulation project to blow cellulose insulation into the garage ceiling. Again, they were professional, courteous, and did good work. A little of the insulation squirted out a hole into another room. But it was just cellulose, so it was harmless and easy to clean up with a vacuum. They apologized and were good about it. Again, I was pleased and satisfied.
