From choosing the color and type of shingle at their office to the completed project all was pleasant with a great outcome.

I am a structural engineer that worked with contractors for 20 years. I recently interviewed 6 of the top roofing companies in the area for a very large roof. I selected Davis after I realized that they are very technical and perfected roof construction. I was really amazed at the quality of their work. If anyone needs to see their work, my house is located at 630 hills boulevard in Port Orange.

Our HOA consists of 20 townhomes in 4 buildings. It was brand new in 2007 and the roofs suffered wind damage in January of this year. The Board met with 5 roofing companies. All of the roofers' pricing were comparable with each other but Davis Construction Services (aka Davis Roofing & Construction) out of New Smyrna Beach surpassed the others with their knowledge, professionalism and courtesy. They also did not have any negative BBBs as well as having a 5-star rating. Our HOA hired them and we are so happy we did! They worked well with the supply chain issues and had a hard working crew ready at each of the buildings as the materials were delivered. All 4 buildings were done in a month's time and the Terra Cotta shingles look fantastic! They supplied us with a thicker peel and stick than required by code and the warranties they offered on both the products and the workmanship were above standards. They even gave us interest free time to pay our deductible, since that is all the owners were resposible for. They definitely deserve a 5-star rating.

Our HOA found these guys and went ahead with a pricy roof install. The job looks good and complete.
The main issue is the destruction of plants ceramics and such through out the units. We were told by the HOA "move your stuff they need a wide birth to work." When you move all of your plants and stuff 15 feet away you shouldn't need to worry... Wrong. These guys laid out a tarp and proceeded to hoof objects everywhere. There is no reason for anything to be destroyed, or dead... zero excuses.
We also had our new $1200 gutters scratched and dented. We were told by the HOA via an Email from this owner that the gutters would be removed and replaced, not left in place and subject to damage. HOA president actually brought up the fact that the roofers knew they caused damage, but insists that they will only repaint damage....
Its not a huge deal just enough to say something though. Working in construction for 2 decades I learned that If you make a mistake fix it right away, don't wait for the homeowner to call you out, when they clearly knew they did the damage.

I talked with 7 roofing companies and received 7 proposals. I chose Davis Roofing & Construction for a number of reasons. I was dealing directly with Kaney Davis the owner, whom I liked from the moment I met him. He was friendly, straight forward, could get the job done in our time frame, and his price was competitive. They use high quality products and stand by their work with a 10 year warranty. Their customer service was outstanding. Chris, the office manager, saved us time by coming to our home to bring and notarize the paperwork needed for filing. She also kept us up to date on all aspects of the project, was always available to answer any questions or concerns, and was quick to respond to any texts. Kaney was often on the job site and we had numerous opportunities to speak with him and get updates.
