An extra star only because of their friendliness...their slogan, 'once a customer...always a friend,' but after my experience with David's Custom Roofing and Painting, the saying, 'with friends like these, who needs enemies,' comes to mind.
Took quite a bit to get them to give us a quote on a leaking roof, causing damage to garage ceiling, attic and light fixture and everything that water came in contact with.
They came over and assessed where the leak was coming from, and said the solar panel mounting screws and flashing was the issue, not even doing a water test to see exactly where the water leak was coming from.
Okay...set up an appointment with their recommended solar company to remove panels above the garage, in order to do the roof repair...which was another headache to schedule, fine...it took a few days to complete the entire repair process, they said they changed all the flashings of the solar panel mounts, which they said was not easy...solar panels reinstalled...but NO WATER TEST.
Davelyn suggested that they redo the whole garage/attic roof, just to make sure, because she didn't like the repair work that was done. Wait, what??...we weren't planning to replace the entire garage roof, since our 10 years old PV system upgrade we were thinking about would cause an issue, time wise and money wise, meaning that the whole solar rack/mountings would need to be changed and new screw holes and flashings later, which could lead to more possible future leaks, even with a whole new roof that was suggested.
But why suggest changing the whole roof right after we paid nearly $4000 to fix one leak in the first place?
So we passed on the additional expense. Thinking the repair should suffice until we have the time and money for the solar upgrade.
Not even a month later, however, heavy rain..AND...THE SAME problem leak in the same area, adding more damage than previously.
Also a problem: David's Custom Roofing DOES NOT warranty leak repairs...what??!
They state, 'Leaks are a process of elimination; repair quote is for work stated above. If leak persists, additional repairs will be an
EXTRA COST.' I don't know...why do roof 'repair', I guess they only replace or install new roofs, I don't understand this whole situation.
$4000 down the drain! Why take our money, do a shoddy repair, don't do any water test before or after the repair, and not warranty your work, and on top of that, then suggest to change the whole roof after your repair???
Finally, we called another roofing company, who DID water test and found that the flashing that David's Roofing installed was improperly done with an existing area exposed where the water was leaking into the attic and garage...WATER TEST conducted after the repair...FIXED...and guaranteed for a year!
Maybe David's Custom Roofing and Painting is better at painting...but I'll pass on finding out.

Our insurance carrier required a garage re-roof and gave us a very short window to comply. Even though David’s was fully booked past our deadline, Davelyn managed to squeeze our job in knowing the situation we were in. I worked with Anthony who did an excellent job, kept me informed and was very responsive. Even though I could tell they were busy as heck, while many contractors would simply ghost you, both Davelyn and Anthony always responded in a timely manner. The crew was very professional and did an excellent job.

I will definitely use David’s for my future projects!
