I have to give Cenate some good credit, after I bought my house and needed the roof replaced, he was able to get a crew in before the winter and have most of the job done in a day. Unfortunately when it comes to details or the complete picture, things slip enough to be dissatisfying. Drip edges were forgotten. Gutters were removed to prevent ice dams but there was no alternative remediation for rain runoff that now rots my deck. Years later and I am still finding discarded shingles and roofing nails in my yard. The pricetag was also on the higher end compared to others I'd been given.

I tried getting his crew back to improve the first two issues only to stop getting any replies, which admittedly is fairly typical ghosting by contractors in this part of the state. The next year I asked again if he'd be willing to come back for these repairs and further renovations; he actually showed up promptly but out of all the contractors I consulted, his answers were the most vague or avoidant. Afterward he sent me a nonsensical email saying "Thanks I don't know what I was thinking but we already had emailed each other sorry" (sic) and then stopped replying to further messages afterward.

Overall, I think Cenate is a good choice if you need something done quick and dirty, or if you have the patience to really hound him and get concrete eye-to-eye answers on the things you know you need. If you're unsure about the best way to handle a project, you're only going to get one answer from Cenate, if you're lucky.
