We recently had the pleasure of working with Custom Installation’s John Robinson who oversaw a project of ours. He was thoughtful and attentive, fully committed to getting the job done correctly—a pleasure to have him and the crew on site!

Five years ago Custom Installations replaced my roof shingles and the gutters. Afterwards I made two complains. During the processes for resolving both complains John Robinson and Bob Pohlman patiently listen to my discretions of my complains. John Robinson even climbed up to my attic in order to find out the reason of the leaking in 2021. He kindly told me that the leaking most likely was from the ice-dam, and suggested me to put more insulations to the attic.

Their responded to my complains politely and professionally. I appreciate it very much, and highly recommend their service to homeowners who have roof or gutter problems to fix.

I recently had the siding replaced on my home and chose Custom Installations for the job — and I couldn’t be happier with the decision!

From the very beginning, they stood out. Unlike other companies that tried to upsell me on products I wasn’t interested in (like LP siding), Custom Installations respected my preferences and focused on what I actually wanted. Their expertise in James Hardie siding was clear — they’re true masters of the craft.

John Robinson, the Field Production Manager, was incredible to work with. He walked me through the process from start to finish, making sure I felt confident and informed at every step. The attention to detail was top-notch — they flashed everything meticulously to ensure long-term protection from water issues, and the crew was not only professional but also collaborative. They never moved forward without my input and even helped design much of the exterior trim to make sure everything looked perfect.

The installation team was respectful, clean, and clearly took pride in their work. It was obvious this wasn’t just another job to them — they genuinely cared about the outcome and treated my family and home with real respect.

The Custom Installations team just completed our new Brava synthetic cedar shake roof, along with new gutters, repaired our fascia and soffit and replaced our
copper barrel roofs with new copper. They also installed new cedar siding where the original siding had become worn.

We previously had a 37 yr old cedar shake wood roof and wanted to replace and upgrade it with synthetic Brava cedar shake. Our project manager, John Robinson oversaw the work and was meticulous and courteous in getting everything done.

We recently had a new asphalt roof installed on our residence here in Wisconsin. Mr. Pohlman and his crew were professional, timely, and exacting in the quality of their work. The project started and ended on time with no issues. Our property was left in the same condition as when they started. I had Custom Installations remove and replace our roof, skylights and gutters. My Sales person was Clayton Fritch and he was extremely helpful during the quotation process, selecting the options and answering questions. The new roof was completed in under two days during very hot days. They rotated installers on the roof and around the house to keep everyone safe in the heat. I knew what was happening every step of the way from excellent communication from the front office. I was told when people and supplies would be there, what was going on and informed of the timing. At the end, everything was clean and tidy with no debris left behind. It was easy, very reasonable (I quoted 4 roofers), and a job well done. I would highly recommend this company and am very pleased with the end result.

I recently installed a new roof on my house and Custom Installations not only gave me the best price, but they were also far and away the most professional and transparent company I got a bid from. They provided timely updates on sourcing the materials and scheduling the installation.
The installation itself was extremely efficient and as tidy as could be expected. The crew braved sub-0 temperatures and still managed to complete the project within the timeline they quoted.

For the first time jn my life, last Spring we suffered the damaging effects of a powerful hailstorm. We experienced over 80 dents to our car, and extensive damage to the roof, siding, and gutters of our home. We were distraught and, while well educated, inexperienced in the process which would make repairs and manage interactions with the insurance companies. With special thanks to Clayton Fritch at Custom Installations and the team, we couldn't be happier with the outcome of the repairs.

I would definitely recommend custom insulation. They put a new roof on our house and garage. They were here first thing in the morning to start. They did an amazing job at cleaning up everything after they were finished. The roof looks beautiful. I was very happy with the process of getting everything started. They have very good customer service. Would recommend and use this company again.

Great overall experience. I met Kevin May back in the fall of 2022 at a home show. I was able to schedule a roof inspection for the following week. He gave me an honest opinion on how my roof looked and the likelihood of getting anything from my insurance company. Before I was able to schedule the inspection with my insurance company, I had some health issues, so I wasn't able to get around to calling until almost a year later. Custom Installations still had all my information, so we were ready to get back up and running immediately. Within a week I had met with Kevin again and he came back for the roof inspection by Farmer's insurance.

About 3 weeks after this, the crew led by John Robinson was tearing off my roof and getting the new one installed. They also replaced my four skylights and installed new gutters. The crew was efficient and did a great job of cleaning up their mess and preventing any damage to my new deck. Each morning of the install, I woke up to an email from Stephanie Cross telling me what to expect and what they had finished the previous day.

During the work the crew noticed some improperly installed siding where the previous owners had put an addition on the house and a roof vent that was no longer connected. Both issues were only visible when up on the roof due to their location, so I had never noticed. John and Kevin were able to show me pictures of the issues and suggest a course of action to get both addressed. They also were very nice about talking to the plumber I got to take a look at the vent and doing a much better job of explaining the issue than I could.

I'll be calling Custom Installations again next year to get my siding done due to how smoothly the roof process went and how friendly and professional everyone was.

We just hired Custom Installations to re-side & re-roof my home. We chose James Hardie, Board & Baton siding. The Custom Installations team was awesome, from my sales contact, Brad Hironimus, to the installers. Despite the house being originally constructed in the 1960's, it now looks brand new and I expect will further stand the test of time. The foreman assigned to our job, John Robinson, was exceptional. We had a wonderful experience with Brad and John Robinson who oversaw the day to day work that was done. Brad worked with my husband and I for over a year to make sure our job was done just right! We had a lot of work to be done and Brad was constantly checking in to make sure we were all on track, was always available to answer a phone call or answer questions via email. Bought a house specifically because the roof was "new". So I thought..... Here is one problem I would not have to deal with. I was wrong! I inherited major problems with 2 dead vallies.

After the the company who installed and warrantied the roof refused to help I was left calling every roofing company in the area. None of them had a solution!

Custom Installations just finished a complete re-siding of my home. They removed all the vinyl siding and replaced with James Hardie as well as removed and replaced all gutters and downspouts. Brad Hironimus was the sales rep on my project. His communication was consistent, attentive, and his attention to all the details throughout the project was a perfect '10'. I will refer this company without hesitation to all of my friends and family. I have attached the before and after photos.

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to thank Ted and John the two people that I had the most contact with during this project. Their professionalism, workmanship and availability are over the top. We had a roof leak and while Ted was doing his inspection he discovered that we also had hail damage, he did all of the work with the insurance company and he and John continued to monitor the workmanship during and after the job. I would recommend Custom Installation to friends and family.

Due to storm damage from a wind storm in late December 2021 we decided to see if we could get the siding on one side of our house repaired. I left a voice message with Custom Installations after hours and received a call the following day. The next day, a Saturday, Bruce arrived to look at the damage. He said they could fix the damage, but since the siding was 31 years old it would be unlikely it could be matched and it was more likely the entire house would have to be re-sided. In the end, the entire house was re-sided, and Bruce, Clayton, and John all made it happen. There were challenges along the way, like when they found that due to the old siding installation, the soffit, facia, and my four-year-old gutters would all have to be taken down to do the siding. With severe weather predicted for Wednesday and the loss of work due to unforeseen issues on Monday, John and Clayton said they would do “whatever it took” to get everything done on Tuesday – and they did. With John working with the siding crew, the siding, soffit, and fascia where all completed in time for the gutter crew to arrive and rehang our gutters even better than the job the original installers did. Great job guys and a hearty thank you for all your positive determination, hard work, friendliness, and patience! I would gladly use Custom Installations for any future work at our house and would certainly recommend them to anyone else.

Dave provided excellent repair to gutters damaged by a fallen tree. The work was performed in a professional manner, following the schedule he provided. Following the completion he adjusted the invoice to remove items quoted that turned out to not be needed. I did not realize this, and would have just paid the invoice. This kind of honesty it just an additional reason you should use his company. Custom goes in my list of trusted resources.

My husband and I used Custom Installations in 2020, (yes, I am so late on this review, but it is more than well deserved) to replace all of our old aluminum siding and garage roof due to storm damage. The whole company including administrative contacts were accommodating and personable through the whole process. They did they whole project in a snowstorm with many obstacles, but they pushed through and never made us feel like they were inconvenienced by the weather. This company was professional, and the workers were nothing but kind and hard working. We liked them so much that we used them again for another home we own, and they remembered me without hesitation. I 100% recommend this company. They are reliable, friendly and do great work.

We had a fire at my home a short time back. I had to have all new siding, fascia, soffit, and gutters installed. Brad and his team at Custom Installations were the consummate professionals. I was impressed with the professionalism and quality of all aspects of my experience with them.

I am really impressed with Brian's honesty and can-help attitude, I appreciated his professional and conscientious attitude, and doing such a fine job to help us to go through the long claim process and get the job done flawless.

The Custom Installations team replaced our 80 year old copper gutters with some brand new copper gutters. Not only is it great to have gutters that no longer leak, but they also look fantastic! Customer service was responsive and the work itself was high quality.

Great work by Custom Installations. Dave made several trips out to walk insurance adjustor through damages and maximize the claim. He is upfront about work that needed to be done and all the pricing. No unexpected charges or add ons. When the crew arrived they wasted no time completing beautiful install of new shingles. They protected plants around the house, and cleaned up debris. Dave and project foreman came out to re-inspect finished work and ensured my total satisfaction.

Custom Installations helped me with an insurance claim due to hail damage. They did a great job getting me the money needed to do the job. I had other remodeling work to do first and due to COVID, it took much longer than I planned. During the entire process, they were patient waiting for me to get to their part of the job and when they did, it was quality and professional work.
