Overall this is probably one of the worst dealerships that I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve bought 16 cars over my lifetime so far and pretty much all from different dealerships. Trust me when I say this is one of the worst. Communication is awful I waited 6 days for a trade value. Once I got my trade value they refused to give me a ballpark range for my payments without pulling my credit first. I totally understand that without pulling your credit they can’t get a accurate interest rate but 99% of the dealerships will give you a wide range of payments depending on the interest rate and how much you put down. This dealership on the other hand refused which in my opinion is a huge red flag.

I took my Dodge Ram Sprinter van to Coughlin Automotive’s service center after calling to confirm they serviced this model. I explained that I needed a full inspection to ensure the vehicle was running properly and was safe to drive. I also mentioned a few specific issues—namely, the check engine light was on and we were receiving an "oil level too full" warning. I was told there would be a $100 diagnostic fee, which I agreed to, and I dropped the van off on a Friday morning.

I was told it would be looked at the same day and that I’d receive a call that afternoon. I never received that call. I followed up Monday morning and was told it still hadn’t been looked at, but they promised a call by noon. That didn’t happen either. I followed up again that evening and was told they were “almost done” and that I’d get a call soon with the results. I never got that call either.

The next morning, I arranged to be dropped off at the dealership assuming the van was ready. It wasn’t. I was told to come back in two hours. When I finally picked it up later that day, I was charged $150—not the $100 I was quoted. I was also told they couldn’t do anything about the check engine light because they’re not a Ram-certified dealer and suggested I go to the dealership in Chillicothe instead. When I asked about the oil level warning, the service rep had no real answer—just that the level “looked fine.”

In the end, I paid for an inspection and got no answers, no real service, and no follow-through. Had they been honest up front about what they could and couldn’t do, I would have taken it somewhere else.

I would not recommend this dealership or service center. I don’t believe they are fair or trustworthy, and I certainly won’t be taking any of my vehicles there again.

I sent my 2008 Tahoe to get checked for a antifreeze leak they said I needed a new engine priced at $13000
I then transported my suv to Texas with a honest mechanic ,engine was good it had a blown head gasket on the left side of the engine ended up replacing both sides and is good to go with less than $900

100% do not recommend this dealership for diagnostic testing

My experience at Coughlin GM of Circleville was great! Tom Obert was very helpful at keeping in touch and answering all my questions. I suggest reaching out to this salesman for anyone interested in buying a vehicle at this location.

Initial interaction/communication was ok and the people were nice. Insulting offer on my trade in (got almost double their initial offer at another dealership). 0 wiggle room on price for a 20 year old car which I was still willing to buy but they wouldn't return my call. Had a great experience elsewhere.

I rarely do this, & hate to give a negative review- but just want to share my experience at Coughlin GM of Circleville. I contacted them about coming to check out a truck. Tori whom I was in contact with was very nice & personable. I gave her the info for my trade & explained to her that I was coming there from 2 & a half hours away. She had directed me to a salesman.
Said salesman was supposed to send me a rough estimate of my trade & interior pictures of the truck. (Which he did neither). We get there after making the almost 3 hour drive & I finally meet salesman. I asked him why he never sent me the trade info or interior pics. He claims that since I was already coming, he felt that it was unnecessary.
Upon arrival the truck was barely detailed, the bed was a mess, crumbs everywhere inside, & engine pay was filthy. Although, I just drove 3 hours so I looked past it. We come back from the test drive & meet up with salesman to talk numbers. My father is doing most of the talking at this point. Mind you, I’m in my twenties. He has done this A LOT more than I have. But I am buying this vehicle with my money, not his. The sales guy then looks at him & asks “Are you buying this or him?? Are you going in on this together??” Chuckles, then walks off distraught. Which was EXTREMELY rude & backhanded.
While we wait for my trade evaluation, I went in to see the status. Salesman must’ve had a come to terms moment then briefly tries to apologize. Then we head into his office with the “inventory specialist”. I sit down, & it is silent while the inventory specialist stares into my soul. I then break the ice and ask what the numbers were on my trade. He tells me a ridiculously low number, to follow with the ridiculously high number on their used truck. They end up meeting in the middle with I want on my truck, but not theirs. So I say I’m going to step out and talk to my dad. We go back in & try to work something out, the inventory specialist is now staring into his soul- to the point my father had to ask what he was staring at… After going back & forth we end up not getting the deal to work- which I am TOTALLY fine with at this point.

While reading through other reviews in the last few months, all of these things seem to be a common theme here. Wish I would’ve done more research before wasting a whole evening. With all of this being said, Coughlin GM needs to do some serious evaluation in their detailers, salesman, & “inventory specialist.” All around were arrogant, & clearly didn’t care about making any kind of deal.

I arrived in the early afternoon at the Circleville location on 9/24. I walked around the lot for about 10 minutes and no one came out. I went inside and
I stopped by the Circleville location on the afternoon of 9/24 to look at a Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum on the lot. I spent about 10 minutes walking around, and no one came out. I went inside and waited another few minutes before I was even addressed. I believe it was a GM who greeted me. I commented how it was the first time I had to seek out a salesperson. I was asked about my current Cadillac and was given the impression that my asking for help was a bother. I was placed with Theresa to start the test drive process. She was very nice and not aggressive.

I got in the vehicle and noticed there were dark smudges on some of the fabric accents throughout the vehicle. It appeared it was being driven by someone because there was trash in the doors and under the seats. It wasn’t a lot, but not what you would expect in a car for sale. As I test drove, I noticed the odometer reading was 6K more than what was advertised online. That is a huge difference to not be reflected in the ad. I came back inside and started the whole “what did you think” process trying to start a deal. I brought up the odometer difference and I was told the owner’s wife sometimes drives the vehicles for a while before they are on the lot and one of the managers had also been driving it as a demo. I was given the offer for my trade in, and it was $2K lower than anything I had been offered from other places. My Escalade was 8 years old and did need the AC fixed, it only had 84K miles, and was in good shape. I was given the AC would be costly to repair (it was actually a simple fix), that would cost the dealership considerably less to fix, than if I had it done. The GM refused to budge on the amount of my trade in and the price of the car. I pointed out I was viewing another Escalade Premium Luxury Platinum model and it had 8K less miles and cost $5K less. The Sport Platinum is slightly more expensive than the PLPP, but not $5K. Theresa realized we were at a standstill, and said she could get me a Friends and Family quote to order a 2024 Escalade. This entire situation felt like a bait and switch. This was not anything I would consider since we no longer purchase cars brand new due to the huge amount they depreciate.

So why am I not posting something almost 3 months after I test drove at Coughlin? It’s because starting one month after I test drove, I have been called 5 times by Pam about his Escalade. The listing shows the odometer reading is updated and it has been lowered in price too. I finally answered call number 4 from Pam, and nicely explained we already purchased another Escalade, and gave her some feedback on my visit. She cut me off and said she would relay this information to the GM, and gave me a condescending “Have a nice day”, then hung up. I received yet another call on 12/20 from Pam asking if I was still interested in the Escalade. I explained to her that she called me a week or so ago, I gave her my feedback on my experience and wasn’t interested. Supposedly, she is going to take me off the calling list this time.

When I have discussed my experience with other people, the immediate impression they get is I wasn’t taken seriously since I didn’t have my husband with me. This is the same feeling I had when I left the dealership. I don’t know why the GM refuse to negotiate with me, but it cost you the sale of this vehicle, and any future ones from us. We are currently looking to replace my husband’s current Escalade, and will need to purchase a car for our teen in the near future. I wish you luck on selling the Escalade that you have been calling me about for 3 months!

****UPDATE****
I received a call today from the dealership manager and he was very helpful and I got the impression cared about what happened. He has assured me that everything will be fixed.

I truly appreciate the call and will update next week on how things work out.

Thank you Mr. Taggett.

The service department needs serious help. I have had my vehicle in twice for service, and both times there were issues.
The first time was for a recall where sensors had to be ordered. When I scheduled, I was told I had to do so twelve weeks out. This seemed excessive, but okay. Fast forward twelve weeks. I take the day off work, take my vehicle in for the work, only to be told they didn't have my parts. I understand that things happen, but the least they could have done was called me ahead of time to let me know the parts were not available and I would need to reschedule.
My latest experience included me making an appointment for service due to a check engine light being on. I made appointment for 8:00 AM, drop it off, provided the OBD code, which indicated it needed a new glow plug. Fast forward to 2:00 PM, no call, no estimate, nothing. I call up and told that they are short staffed, but the service adviser said he was going to go help to get it done. I called back at 4:45 and was sent to voice mail. Okay, worst case scenario I'll get my truck back Saturday morning. I call at 10:00 AM, and I am sent to voicemail. I leave a message, which went unreturned, called back at 2:00 and asked for the manager. Again, I get sent to a voice mail. No returned call. I call back at 4:00 PM.....yep you guessed it, was sent to someone's voice mail.
So, come Monday, I again do not have a vehicle for work.
Three times now I have had to miss work due to the lack of communication and follow through from this dealership. I understand things happen, but it's not acceptable to be ignored. This dealership clearly does not care about its customers.
Oh, by the way, as soon as I turned on to US 23 today the check engine light came back on.................

Coughlin Chevrolet had the exact vehicle I wanted and they worked to make it happen, I'm so serious about this dealer that I drove 5.5 hours and they were quick to accept my trade-in & deal.

This dealership sold us a DUD truck… We had traveled from Crown City, OH to look at a Nissan Titan XD the dealership had online. The transaction began poorly as-is. The dealership was refusing to even fill up the gas tank on the truck with purchase. The truck was not detailed and dirty when we wanted to purchase it and the company claimed we would have to come pick it up another day since they couldn’t detail it that day. They communicated poorly there after about the condition of the detail and when it would be completed. Come to find out that when we get back to the dealership to purchase the vehicle after being told it was ready, the detail team had to leave mid-clean so the vehicle was never fully detailed. The truck was listed with several features that it simply did not have. It claimed in the listing that it had heated leather seats, for example. The truck did not even have leather seats. For these reasons we asked a lower price on the truck which the dealership refused as advertising error. This process was extremely long and the women’s bathroom at this facility had blood all over the place including on the toilet paper. I have attached a photo of the blood in their bathroom. Upon purchase the vehicle was positioned at a property that is listed for sale. We parked the vehicle there until we were planning to use it for a cross-country trip while pulling our travel trailer. We put several thousand dollars into upgrades on the vehicle like towing mirrors, running boards, backup camera, and tonneau cover these upgrades took a bit of time but the vehicle was not used during the upgrades. Once it was time for the trip we had made sure the vehicle was ready and safe to take our family on our vacation, 5 days into the trip while only putting around 2,000 miles in total on the vehicle since purchase in the middle of the Mojave desert the vehicle was completely immobilized without warning stranding our family including our 18 month old daughter and two dogs in 115 degree weather with no way to get out of the heat and no civilization nearby. Our vehicle had to be towed to the nearest Nissan dealership and our family was stuck in Lake Havasu Arizona for the weekend since the truck couldn’t be looked at until Monday. On Monday the dealership informed us that our truck had “catastrophic engine failure” and the repair cost would be around $37,000. The truck was bought for around $25,000. They informed me that a chunk of metal the size of a computer mouse had broken off of the crank shaft and was found in the oil pan. In communication with Coughlin I received a few calls back from the dealership basically informing us that they were unwilling to do anything for the situation and would contact us back however we have not received any calls back from this company. The vehicle was purchased on 5/23/2024 and was rendered scrap metal on 7/13/2024 with around 2,000 miles put on the vehicle since purchase and only having made a single vehicle payment. We put $7,000 on the purchase price of this vehicle and financed the rest. Since we were trapped in the desert with our children and animals we had to abandon the vehicle and our $30,000 travel trailer in Arizona. We then had to pay for a rental, motels, and a storage facility for our travel trailer since we were unable obtain transportation to get our camper home. I have attached photos of the blood in the bathroom and the photos from the Anderson Nissan dealership in Lake Havasu, Arizona. This purchase has financially devastated our family and will continue to devastate our family since we still have a lot of the mess to clean up. I will be in contact with media and legal teams regarding Coughlin GM as well as Nissan. We are offering to donate the vehicle to NHTSA since Nissan has declined inspecting the vehicle. This vehicle was clearly a safety hazard.

This dealership listed this truck stating it had a factory warranty, and sold the truck with the impression that it did have that warranty. I have added the photo showing the truck was listed with Coughlin.

Bought a Chevy Blazer there with no issues 7 months ago. Went in to buy a truck and had a few hiccups trying to get approved but was told on a Tuesday that everything was a go and we were set to pick it up on Thursday late afternoon. We went in and signed and paid our down payment and left. 24 hours later they call and tell us the loan fell through and we had to bring it back. What kind of car dealership lets you sign for a vehicle and leave then tells you no?? They asked us to return it so we did the very next morning and was told that our down payment would be overnighted to us, because we had paid cash they had to issue a check back. Fine. But here we are a week later and still don’t have our money back. This place is shady, and they lie. Wish we would’ve never got the first car there and would never recommend. Will we ever get our down payment back? I don’t know but we will definitely be contacting a lawyer.

Don’t go here…in fact RUN

6 months ago, I bought a 2020 GMC Sierra AT4, 85K miles, no warranty. Background, I live 115 miles from this dealership but they had the truck I wanted so I made the drive. There was never any doubt in my mind that I would not go back there for service just due to the distance. On my way home from picking up the truck, the TPMS system said there was an error and was only showing pressure for three tires (no LF). I chocked it up to a bad sensor and as I have replaced these in previous vehicles and know they are not that expensive, I pressed on home as it was too late and I was half way home . This was an intermittent problem until I did my first oil change / tire rotation. I mentioned this problem to the Chevy dealer and asked them to change the sensor. They checked the sensor and it was reading a strong battery signal so I told them to just rotate the tires and I would see what happens. Soon after, this intermittent problem became and consistent issue. The problem was it was showing the same LF tire even though the tires had been rotated and reprogrammed which meant the issue was something else. That Chevy dealer wanted a ridiculous amount of money just to diagnose the problem ($200).
That's the history now why I'm recommending Coughlin, a couple weeks ago someone from Coughlin just made a 6 month check up call. I told her I loved the truck and had no issues other than this TPMS problem. I had no expectation of the dealership doing any thing about this, (six months and 7k miles later) she told me she would contact the Service Manager, John Tackett, and have him call me. The next day he did and he told me they would at least diagnose the problem, no charge and see what they could do. Thinking this was looking like it was going to turn into an expensive fix I took him up on the offer. Today I took the truck in and dealt with Paul Lynch, the Service Advisor. Long story short, not only did they diagnose, but they spent a total of 3-4 hours taking care of it at no charge to me. I find it so refreshing this day in age to have a company stand behind what they sold me, I'm just at a loss for words of thanks. Next time I need to buy a vehicle, I will be checking this dealership first, even with it being 115 mile drive. Kudos to John & Paul, thank you both very much!!! Also a shout out to my salesman, Forest, as I had a good experience when I made the purchase. Obviously, I recommend doing business here!!!

If I could give zero stars, I would. We made an appt. The person left before we arrived. A salesman came out, said “can I help you guys”. We wanted to see a specific vehicle, and made sure it was there. He takes us all the way back to the body shop, not there. Then says “what are you guys doing, picking it up, or is it being cleaned or what?” We then said “ we just came to look at it, we are in the market for a new vehicle”
We stand in the middle of the lot and he says “well could be down there, over here…..etc”
At that point we realized he didn’t really care to help nor care to know what exactly we wanted. Never once did he actually go inside or look up the SUV. So I proceeded to say I had just sold my jeep and I had money in my pocket to spend. Then suddenly he wakes up a bit.
You won’t get our business, and we will be sure to stray people away. Don’t judge a book by the cover. ✌

I had the best buying experience purchasing a 2024 Silverado High Country at Coughlin GM of Circleville!
I made an appointment online to purchase the vehicle
The sales rep was waiting for me with the truck parked at the door
They gave me a fantastic deal on my trade
They shopped local credit unions and gave me the best rate
They accessed my electronic State of Ohio Title from my trade
They applied the recent Chevy promotion that just started 2 days ago
They were so friendly and helpful.
What a great experience!
Special thanks to Randy and Coughlin!

What can you really say about these guys?? Paul and everyone in the service dept. went above and beyond to help me out in an unexpected emergency. Omw from home in Vegas to Scioto County in my '22 Silverado, I stopped to do some fishing. Somehow, I managed to leave my keys along the riverbank on the Scioto River, never to be found again.
Contacted OnStar and within minutes had a tow to the nearest Chevy Dealership, COUGHLIN GM, even though it was almost 8 at night. At first, it seemed like there may be a couple of days before getting the proper key-fob. In my situation, that equals dollar signs.
Aware of my situation, they did way more than they probably had to in the amount of time they did it in. By literally 3pm the next day, I was driving my truck off the lot and omw with the exact same, properly working key-fob as I had before. Saving me close to around $400 all together. To have to stay here and wait any longer could have started to get expensive... But didnt!
These guys are huge supporters of Veterans and just anyone in need or in a bind.
As a Veteran I couldn't have appreciated more the hospitality and service they provided in the Service Dept. (If that's wrong I apologize)
Again, thank you Paul and the rest of the crew at Coughlin!!

Absolutely terrible service. I needed repairs done to my truck and they tore truck apart to find problem. Once the problems was found told me they had to submit request to insurance. Could not tell me how long it would take and could not tell me how long I would be without a vehicle. They did not offer me a rental car and told me it wasn’t their issue that I didn’t have transportation. Completely ridiculous.

Tried multiple times to buy a Passanger van thru coughlin. I started in marysville and was sent to circleville we drove to the circleville Ford (a 68 mile trip for me each way) the vehicle we were sent to look at wasn’t there. After talking to a salesman numerous time I was basically blown off. I now have no desire to work with Coughlin cars.

Dropped my Ford Escape off before my scheduled time for an alignment, and was told it would only be an hour. I watched the alignment tech take it back right away. Come back an hour and a half later and they say it's still not done, itll be at least another half hour.

This is the second time I've had problems here, they work at a snail's pace and don't notify you of any problems until you show back up in person to pick up your vehicle.

I gave them two chances, it's not a coincidence, it's a trend, and for the rates they charge you'd think they'd act like they care a little more, but then again when you're selling trucks for 60k a piece, service it just an after thought.

I won't be back. Time for the internet review damage control representative to tell me I'm wrong.

PS: Since some nameless employee lacks professionalism and has decided to use personal customer service records to call me out by name, I'll follow up. Nothing on my vehicle was broken, "adjusting parts" to get the alignment of the wheels correct is part of a $190.00 alignment. You didn't do my any favors. I paid for a service. Thanks for demonstrating why I won't be back, you think you are doing your "customers" a favor. You're not. Your stealership only exists because of your customers, and now you have one less.

I bought a used car with low miles on it. I said I would wait until they got one in and it didn’t matter how long it took. A few months ago they called me and they said they had one I should look at. They next day I owned it. Great follow up and I’m 100% happy with the 2007 Hyundai Santa fee under 60,000 miles like new. Thanks again Ben and Jody.

Overall, a lackluster experience. The service was fair to poor and the product was not as advertised. The salesman I worked with was somewhat knowledgeable about the various vehicles and trims, but had a fairly condescending demeanor during discussions and negotiations. The cherry on top was when after I had signed all the papers and was about to leave the lot, I tried to setup the ford pass app to connect the car to my phone app for remote control access of the car's functions (remote start, locking, etc) the modem was broken so the car was not able to connect to any outside networks. The salesman looked at me and basically said "tough luck" and there was nothing I could do because I had signed the papers already. I would not recommend Coughlin automotive dealerships in the future. I can't wait until dealerships go away and you order everything online direct from the OEM.
