The first time they came out was after another contractor ripped up the lines under the driveway and forcibly yanked the power leads from the generator. It took a while to get them to come out, but they did an alright job putting it all together and fixing the blown fuses and fried board caused by the incident. At this point I was pretty happy with their service.

The second time they came out was due to a low oil pressure error. They replaced the oil and filter and called it good. I believed them. A while later we noticed that it started failing some of the weekly self-tests that it does with the same error. We should have called then, but life gets in the way and we kept pushing it off.

Then the big storm hits and we're without power. The generator started up, but quickly started either sputtering frequently or just stopping with the low oil pressure error. I called in maybe around noon and asked for service and was told they'd try to fit us in at the end of the day. Well the end of Monday comes and no one shows up and no one calls. Tuesday goes by and no one shows up or calls. Wednesday goes by and still no word from them at all. Then at end of day we miss a call but get a voicemail saying that if we still needed help (why wouldn't we??) they'd have someone in the area Thursday morning that can swing by after. Great. I call at 8am on Thursday and leave a message saying we still need someone and request a callback. I hear nothing, so about 10:30am I call again and reach someone who says they're all filled up for the day already but they could try to squeeze me in at the end of the day and will call with a time. Why wasn't I on the schedule still?? how was my call on Monday not honored? Ok, well, fine, I'm still without power and frequently having to go out to restart the generator because it won't stay on and it is our only source of heat at the moment. Well my wife calls again that afternoon since we never heard from them and she is just plainly told that they won't be coming out and then the line goes dead. We get a voicemail at closing that they'll be out between 10 and 11am on Friday. Finally, a confirmation of a visit and a time. Great. Well they missed that window. Someone rolls in at 2:50, spends about 20 minutes playing with the generator and then leaves without a word. No knock on the door, no note, no follow-up call - nothing. I call at 3:30 to see if I can get an update about what is wrong and when it'll be fixed and I get no one, so I leave a voicemail and ask for a callback. I get nothing. So a full week of waiting for someone to come fix the generator and all they can manage is a 20 minute attempt at the end of the day on the last day of the week and not even let me know what is going on. This so far has been a pretty awful experience. I get that they're busy, but with some proper communication and modicum of customer service, this could have been handled WAY better.

Sorry to read a few people had problems. But folks should look at manufacturer issues separately. There are not many firms in this area who repair larger generators, especially warranty repairs. I have used them several times and they always do right by me. My last repair they finished in two days, fantastic.

Installed my generator over 5 years ago. Had a control board go bad. Upon investigation found out that the generator was not installed with any grounding and the ground line going to the transfer box we're in no way secure. Also noted secondary wiring from house generator was thermostat wire and does not meet the rating requirements by Generac standards.

As you can see from recent reviews this place is bad. I had a problem with my RV’s generator which they fixed. Oil leak. My issue was when I picked up rv from CMD I had no power to the coach. I called and spoke to technician and was berated for being an RV customer because I was told they always blame CMD for their issues. When dropped off my coach power was fine. Now it doesn’t work. You tell me what’s wrong. He insisted he never even went into inside the rv which was a complete lie as the rv had been moved from where I parked it and a table had been removed and placed to side. That’s what needs to be done to access the engine compartment. So they were inside the vehicle. The guy yelled at me saying I didn’t know how to run my RV. Bad customer service. Awful attitude. I will never be back and will never by a generator from them. Beware they’re jerks with no customer service.
By the way my problem ended up being they left the lights in coach on and drained 4 batteries. The technician was awful!

CMD installed our generator over a decade ago and it has been a peace of mind with all the power outages that happen on the Maine Coast. We had them tune up the generator several times now and they always do a good job and come in at or below the quoted cost. I would highly recommend Bill and his team for both installation and maintenance.

I've called twice asking for help which I am ready and able to pay for, but each time I'm told some one will call me back and then hear NOTHING.
Either get more reliable techs or make time for a paying customer. This is a horrible lack of service and disregard for customers.

We bought a Kohler generator. Ran two weeks then died day before Thanksgiving. We were living off the grid ran generator at night. Mind you no power other than generator. When I called CMD I was asked if they installed it, I replied no our electrician did why? I was told then that it would be very expensive to have a technician come to find out what was wrong. I explained no power, and day before Thanksgiving. 3 months later got generator running. Also in the meantime we called Kohler, to see if we could get our brand new generator back up and running. We were told they would do the best to get us power. Bottom line…. They and CMD really didn’t care, they had heat too bad for us! My husband is a veteran whichCMD claims they serve. Not us, couldn’t believe the lack of customer service. What has happened to customers being number one? They got paid in cash when purchasing the generator. What’s the problem? Where do we as consumers matter?

After ordering a generator that we verified was IN STOCK and given an install date, we were then told they couldn't come on that date and also that suddenly our item was no longer available (they obviously sold it to someone else before our scheduled appointment). We proceeded to get the next available- conveniently for CMD, a more expensive model. Scheduled another appointment- yes they canceled that one also. Finally they arrive to install and the feature we wanted, ability to control via internet didn't work. We paid our bill in full they said they would research and get back to us. Weeks later, they return to reprogram and all is well. Until we get another bill in the mail and they charge another almost 1k to make it work as it should've at the original install that we already paid for. Unethical and unreliable- find another company to do business with.

Bought new 25kw with kubota with install. Couldn't ask for better experience. From the buying of it to the install, everything was great. Reccomend them highly. I'm totally pleased

We went to great effort to make sure we had a system that was Wi-Fi monitored and controlled. When the job was done, there was no such communication. Several trips back and several attempts by them to run the cat cable, put the ends on correctly, and wire it appropriately, did not work out. In my absence, they told me it was complete so they were paid in full. When I arrived at the job a couple weeks later there was no online capability. Calls to them produced no response other than a secretary telling me that I must not have Wi-Fi at my home. They walked away from the job after being paid in full. Ultimately, I was able to correct the wiring and enable Wi-Fi control at a cost of just over $2000. Additionally, the one day job turned into two full days and five subsequent visits.
I highly recommend that if you use these people you keep a close eye on them and don’t pay them until they are 100% complete.
And since they don’t understand Wi-Fi, choose another company if that is important.
In closing, if it wasn’t for their incompetence regarding the Wi-Fi, keeping the payment in full without compensation to me, as well as digging up my sewer line, their work was acceptable.

Highly recommended! We have several rental properties in Bucksport, Maine and we are beyond pleased with our purchases, installations and maintenance! Peace of mind with our back up power systems and peace of mind knowing we can always count on CMD Powersystems to be there when we need them!!

Tuned Up My 20yo Gennie - Super accommodating to make appointment to get my generator in a 20 year old RV looked at, so I could wait for it. Checked part costs ahead of time and determined it just needed filters and oil change. Performed work quickly, then had me test from RV under load to ensure operation. Very reasonable. Very professional.

Called and someone come out to look at a generator that they had installed. Without really looking, said that it was unfixable and then just chatted. I was charged a ridiculous amount. Turns out it was a simple regulator that was a quick fix. And fortunately this company cost me hundreds of dollars and did absolutely nothing.

Less than a week after our install we lost power for 16 hours. The new generator worked perfectly!!! Thanks CMD!!

This company is not customer focused, and overcharges for the yearly check ups, labor & parts and the warranty is totally useless. In order to make this review fair & accurate I was on the phone all day gathering my information from the manufacturer. I wouldn't recommend buying a Generac period. The upkeep is expensive, and the warranty will NOT save you money. I have the second smallest Generac, a very expensive 11, which should, but cannot even support my tiny cottage. Most times it comes on but during a bad snowstorm it failed. I was told it will fail unless I buy this new and improved $300 part for it. To be fair; CMD did extend credit to me (thus the 3 stars) when I needed to make payments on the expensive yearly checkup. Although they said they will no longer extend credit to me because I argued the warranty with them and refused to pay their $140 labor & travel (to turn it back on in a snowstorm) The warranty is only for a defect. To me it's a defect if it won't turn on in a snowstorm. Again, the warranty doesn't "really" work and sometimes neither does the product. A portable generator should suffice.

My grandmother had a generac system put in this month. The team they sent were great .everything came out perfect. Now I am going to have one put in at my house. We are telling all our friends A++++++ service. Thank you guys

Overall good experience with the process from start to finish. CMD Powersystems worked around my schedule and we are happy with the final product.

When we first moved to Unity, Maine, it was suggested that we look into getting a generator. It's great insurance, especially when your home depends on electricity for both heat and water, as well as lights etc. We called one one dealer three times but never heard back. That's when we contacted CMD Powersystems in Hermon, ME and within a short time a new 11K Generac was installed and running. The crew was professional, efficient, and very knowledgeable. Please with both the sales people and the installers. Would recommend them highly.

Both the installation and the follow up service by Ashley Have been great. Although Hermon is a distance from Owls Head they say they will be here as needed. The people that we have encountered have been very professional friendly and helpful.

We just had our generator installed and the whole process was great. CMD worked with Emera and with Black Diamond heating company to coordinate the whole thing and it was a piece of cake for us! The purchase and installation experience with CMD Power was simple and done as expected. They were very willing to answer my questions and provided me with excellent customer service. Due to the placement of the generator on my property, my lawn was damaged due to the tractor they needed to use, but they told me they would come back in the spring to repair it. Overall good experience. However if they have to make changes in instillation the may make decisions without consulting you first.

Had two systems installed at two locations.One at my house and one at my folks. Friendly , professional service done , Extremely happy. Highly recommended.

They came and installed the generator but damaged the water barrier for the house. After a call they sent out a man who repaired the damage. Prompt service

CMD got me what I needed and had it installed very quickly. Lid got a small dent when setting it in place but they are replacing it no charge during the start up once my propane is hooked up.

I would recommend CMD Powersystems to anyone looking to put in a generator. The installation was well coordinated with everyone needed to make this happen . Power company, gas company, electricians and the delivery of the generator. We were very pleased with the work done and the cleanup afterwards.
The customer service was great and the men installing it were very friendly.

They were on time, proficient and professional, and were creative in where and how they installed the equipment. CMD was easy to deal with. They kept me updated on the status of the backup generator installation. Installation crew arrived on time and finished the job on schedule. They left their area neat and picked up. I would recommend them to anyone needing a backup generator installation.

These guys were awesome. I needed my generator serviced, they squeezed me in with only an hour notice. They had all the filters for my Onan Genator and had the service done in less than 45 minutes. I highly recommend they guys. They service and repair almost all kinds of generators.

Customer Service and installation were amazing. The generator pad was not available at time of installation. However, they have scheduled time to come out to install. In the meantime, they set the generator on cement blocks to ensure stability. Very easy to work with and very easy install. They coordinated everything with the propane company and the electrical company.

Super friendly, Professional ,cooperative, patient, knowledgeable staff and owner was so kind with my scheduling /rescheduling and storing my unit as one thing after another in life was happening. The fellows that came out were wonderful and tweaked location a bit to keep snow load from roof from falling right onto unit ,something I never would have considered. they were very thorough in showing this and that on unit for maintenance even recommended having it start for it's charge on a Tuesday afternoon for ten in case barbecuing on a 3 day weekend? who tells ya that stuff but good guys! I recommend all of this staff and company for all your electrical and installation needs not just generators.

Due to moving to a new home I have had CMD Powersystems install another whole home gen system for me. Awesome job and they did their best to accommodate my requests as they did on the first home! installation! I would highly recommend their services. Great staff, great prices and attention to detail.

I was pleased with the installation, we are powering 2 houses in a power outage, works very well. The only issue I had was getting scheduled, they were very busy. I would recommend them for generator needs.

CMD installed a new generator system when snow was still on the ground. Leading up to the installation, they were up front about all costs, answered all of my questions, stuck to their timeline, and recommended a great subcontractor to make the connection to the gas line. Despite the machinery involved, the yard was left in wonderful shape after the installation. Luckily, I have not yet had to use the generator, so I am unable to comment on the quality of the product (Generac). However, the generator cycles on like clockwork each week. All interactions with staff have been positive, and I have confidence that should I call for future needs, they would respond with professionalism.

CMD Powersystems was recommended to me by three different people over the course of two days. I called them to get an estimate of cost and that was handled very professionally. We agreed on the size and installation was planned once I had agreed to the estimate. I did check with two friends who work for Emera and they told me I could not do better than CMD.
CMD arranged for all the right people to be there at the installation. It went very smoothly - about four hours from start to finish. The end product looks very professional and I am very pleased.

We didn’t really have any problems with CMD except that communication was not as clear to all involved parties. The gas company in particular. But in the end all is well and we have a generator. It only ran for four minutes on its first weekly test but we are thinking and hoping that the second test (tomorrow) will be more like the ten to fifteen minutes that we were told it would be. We will see. Thank you.

I found the people at CMD Powersystems to be very helpful and professional -they explained the procedure very well and answered all my questions -very happy with the service we recieved
