I had the roof on my house redone recently by Certified Roofing and I wanted to comment on one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had in a long time! I’m a single parent and I needed to find a trustworthy company that wouldn’t take advantage of me not being that knowledgeable about roofing costs. I was referred by 4 different people to a few different roofing companies with 2 of them referring me to Certified Roofing. I called and spoke with Laura and went over what I needed done, Laura was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. She explained the process in great detail and asked if I had any questions or concerns. We scheduled a day for Steve to come out and take a look at the roof and to provide an estimate. Steve was awesome as well! Steve took his time on the roof and also explained about bringing it up to code. He wasn’t pushy and didn’t try to over sale it. I felt extremely comfortable with what he was telling me about the condition of the roof. The next day I spoke with Laura after I was sent the estimate and we went over details and confirmed the color of tile and went over a couple of different dates. Not too long after that the tile was delivered right on time, the guys showed up the next day as scheduled and the roof looks great! They were very punctual and completed the work as scheduled. I’m completely happy with the roof and have already referred Certified Roofing to two of my neighbors. I definitely recommend Certified Roofing, and again Steve and Laura Ortiz made it a very smooth process!

I've used their services twice now. The first time 5 years ago was awesome. The second time was VERY BAD.

I don't know what happened to Steve, but he just doesn't care anymore. He wasn't on site and stuff got done that looked really bad, and rather than offering to fix it he immediately threatened to lien my house. I was forced to contact the ROC. He made me contact the ROC on him, because he cut off contact with me.

Once I made the report suddenly, he was willing to fix stuff. I kept finding more and more wrong with the project, so I decided to go ahead with the ROC inspection. The flat roof was not stuck down and coming up in places all over.

The ROC found poor worksmanship. I included pictures of the work BEFORE he corrected SOME of it. While he was correcting the work I attempted to ask his wife a question. She said she wouldn't answer questions that I was trying to cause a conflict. I asked what she was doing here since she's not working or doing anything. She said ' I'm here to represent the company '. I told her to get off my property at that point.

This made Steve mad and he said ' DON'T TALK TO MY WIFE THAT WAY '. He then VIOLENTLY threatened me and actually walked toward me like he was going to fight me. His wife held him back.

He was able to fix things to a ' bare minimum standard ' to pass the ROC inspection. He left several things looking terrible and didn't address some things along with a bunch of loose granules on my roof that are just spread all over like sand now. I asked once again if he could fix some of the things that still looked terrible, and he refused, and once again cut off contact with me while threatening me.

He also added interest while we waited for the ROC to go thru the process and expected me to pay the interest.

Long story short I would pay extra money and go with another company. This guy use to be legit and do great work, but he doesn't care anymore.

The services I had done were: 2 new flat roofs(the ones with the patches all over them and the bad seam lines) and the underlayment for my tile roof.

The tile roof only overlaps by 2.5 inches. I was told by Steve it was meant to be 3 inches in an e-mail he had sent. He didn't actually measure it, so he didn't know it was short of his own standard.

He offered to granulate and elastomeric my flat roofs to fix the appearance, but only if I agreed to terms that left me no recourse if any problems were found in the future, and I would have to rely on Steve that has already shown he can't be trusted. Basically making him not liable for any of the work done. I included the terms he tried to get me to sign off on as well.

Most unprofessional I've ever seen anyone act in ANY business.

Steve/Certified did an overall 5-star job. His bid was detailed, answered all our questions and executed it to the end. Ours was a reroof so required a number of new boards as well. He/his crew did a great job and cleaned up the worksite each day. Steve was knowledgeable and very easy to work with. Laura Ortiz was also very responsive to my emails. Very happy customers.

Fantastic job done by Certified! I was traveling and not at the house when I got a call from my caretaker that a microburst storm hit and lifted up and damaged part of my tile roof. He knew of Steve and his company and they were out in a day or two to assess the damage. They provided many photos of the damage and a thorough quote and were able to get to the job in the next few days. Afterwards photos of the completed job were provided being I was still traveling.

We had a small but persistent leak on our tile roof. Found Certified Roofing on Angi, and Steve came over very promptly. He was on the roof, and showed me the problem very clearly. Gave me what i thought was a fair price for the work. Just a few days later, one of his crew was there and did the work in just a few hours. I was so impressed at the prompt and clear communication at every single step. Highly recommended!

Working with certified, Roofing was a delight .to have someone honest and upfront with you was delightful I’ve dealt with other companies that were not so pleasant and this was a pleasant experience I have to say I would recommend them with no hesitation.

Start to finish, Steve and Laura are an absolute pressure to work with. After an emergency leak from a storm, Steve secured the roof and replaced the underlayment before any further damage could occur. Best price of three estimates. Also, replaced a patio roof and went over and above to help with a non-Roof related issue. Our primary home is in California, and it’s great to know that our Arizona home is in great hands. Steve and Laura are not only professional, they are very kind people.

This company put my roof on the back half of my house because there was leak that soaked my main bath's ceiling. The job looked very good and upon further inspection I notice that I could see all the nails that were used in the eaves around my roof. I called and they sent out a rep to fix it. Well the first rain after my roof leaked in a different location and created large brown spot in my master room. I called them and they came out and patched what they thought might have caused it. Never did they enter my attic to see if they could see where it leaked. So I called and asked who would be correcting the damage in the master bedroom ceiling, Steve acted like it wasn't a big deal that his company's work caused this and seemed to think I should be fixing it and then agreed to have someone come out. I'm still waiting 3 weeks later. Customer service for this company stinks and I recommend trying someone else!

Steve and his team did an amazing job on our roof. They replaced our entire roof. We are so pleased with the outcome and our roof looks great and no leaks! Their team is extremely professional, on time and cleaned up after leaving each day.

I was impressed from the moment they arrived with the huge dumpster with port-a-johns attached! I know that might sound silly, but it was appreciated to have the workers be able to go to the bathroom in a respectful way. Overall, hubby and I were very happy and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Steve and his team at Certified Roofing.

Steve and Laura were absolutely wonderful to deal with. They gave me the best pricing on my replacement, compared to 4 other estimates, and completed the work in the timeframe they told me. The crew cleaned up everyday and Steve made sure all the roof openings were covered to preventive birds and anything else from getting in. Laura is very nice to deal with and always responds quickly.
