We hired John to repoint a significant portion of our large brick chimney, and he did an excellent job grinding out the old deteriorating mortar and repointing it with mortar he dyed to darken it so it matched and would blend in with the parts of the chimney which weren't in need of repair. In the attached photo you can see his work (the top half of the chimney was repointed).

We needed the work done before the winter and he was able to squeeze us in, returning a few times as the weather allowed to make sure the job was completed and done right. He also applied a siloxane waterproofing spray and clear seal to our flashing to fully resolve the leak we were experiencing in driving rain.

I had received quotes from other masons and chimney companies in the area and not only was John reasonably priced, I was grateful for his combination of skill and experience, the pride he takes in his work, his good humor, and the end result.

We highly recommend him, and suggest you get an estimate from him before hiring anyone else for your chimney project. He'll definitely be the first name we give to friends and family in the area when they need masonry work done on their chimney.
