Carlson overhauled our master bed and bath, living and laundry rooms with expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. From the design phase to the day the last worker walked out our door, we couldn’t be happier (even the subs were great!). I’ve waited over a year to write this review. Why? Because we wanted to see if we still felt the same way we did when our projects were completed. I’m happy to say that we remain thrilled with Carlson’s work. We’ve had little to no issues since project completion. This team cares, and will stick with you for the long run until every last box is checked- a rare thing in the contracting world. You won’t be disappointed with Carlson, so hire with confidence. Stefan and the team are the real deal- kind, reasonable, creative, fun, and true craftspeople.

Carlson was great to work with from project beginning to end. The whole team (from office personnel to laborers) were professional, timely, and up front with all communication. The quality of work is excellent. The craftsmen who competed the work were friendly and communicative about project timeline. Overall, we were incredibly happy with their guidance through the process and completed project! We will be using Carlson for all our home renovations going forward.

The results speak for themselves. We hired Carlson to do a full gut renovation on the kitchen and mudroom of our 90 year old home. We had a great experience from start to finish. Working on such an old home can be complicated but Rob, Tom, and the rest of the team worked through all of the details until they were perfect. I'd highly recommend.

When we decided to put in a pool this past summer, we knew we needed to reach out to someone who could run with our vision (and make it way better) as well as a company that could handle everything as we are busy people and had no time to babysit a contractor.
We had admired Carlson Projects' work in the past and they were the first- and only- call we made. Stefan had several really cool ideas that we had to pull back on a bit on because of city codes. He pivoted easily and adjusted ideas to make the space still unique and usable for our large family.
Tyler and Travis and the others that worked at our house nearly all summer were such great guys. Nothing about our job was cookie cutter. We wanted Timbertek seamlessly wrapped around a 20x40 pool. They were up for the challenge even after digging the world's largest footings in clay like dirt. No detail was left behind as our components are covered with a gorgeous cedar enclosure, our pool skimmer lid blends in perfectly, a planter box with it's own set of challenges...and I could go on and on.
I've already referred them on to others and we will have them back to do other projects at our home in future years. If you're looking for super high quality work, great communication, respectful workers, and an all around incredible company, reach out to Carlson Projects.

I was given an Estimate of 4-6 weeks for completion / not in writing-my mistake / It took well over 15 weeks.
One example: one period of time men worked 1.5 days out of 30. Even an item in contract listed was not completed, wall unit incorrectly installed, and I did not get items I was told would be included.
Poor backsplash tile installation/when I mentioned my concern and to tear out and redo/project manager “hollered” at me and argued ( I have witness)
If you are considering a remodel get detailed contract with timeline details and expenses details.
I mistakenly trusted this company.
One positive outcome was their woodworker built a beautiful range hood!

They responded pretty quickly to go and check out our project. Unfortunately I never heard from them after that. I called at least 15 times and left voicemails and spoke with Hawraa and left messages. No one has replied. My last voicemail said to please reply even if you don't want to bid it. I've never heard from them. They are clearly not interested in our project.

Carlson Projects completed a big remodeling project in our bathroom earlier this year - turning a hallway, closet and existing bathroom into one laundry/bathroom combo space. We have never remodeled anything in our home before, and they were so helpful walking us through each piece of their proposal, the itemized pricing, and helped us make choices to stay in budget and still have what we wanted at the end. Everyone who came to our home and worked was thoughtful, professional and did high quality work. Any time we had a question throughout the process, it was answered quickly and thoroughly and our project was completed in the amount of time they estimated. We've been so happy with our newly remodeled bathroom. We will absolutely work with them again on future projects and would recommend them with no reservations!

We’ve renovated several properties over the years but this was our first experience working with Carlson Projects.
We’ve had mixed results with other contractors. This time our goals were clear. We wanted a local company that had been and would continue to be in business for a while. We wanted to meet and know the people who would be working on our property. We wanted EXCELLENT craftsmanship by experienced professionals using quality products of our choice. We wanted the project done in a timely manner. And, of course, we wanted it all done at a reasonable price.
We’ve always resisted using a general contractor, believing one would add a great deal to the cost, but after some discussion, and after seeing Carlson’s commitment to the project, we agreed to have them manage the entire endeavor.
Our remodel was going to be the largest project we had ever done, so we hired a certified experienced designer to design and help implement the plans. Carlson worked with her to bring all of her ideas to life. Working in an existing space, there were many snags along the way, but everyone worked together to change or fix any issues.
Carlson employees, including family members, did most of the jobs, such as framing, drywall work, removing and adding doors, outdoor roof flashing, installing textural walls, adding beam to reinforce an existing floor, removing a weight-bearing beam, and many other jobs. For tile, cabinet building, and electrical, they brought in Lincoln craftsmen they had worked with in the past.
Carlson gave a clear and detailed bid. Even after several add-ons and changes, we ended up paying the amount we were quoted. When we had additional work, we were consulted on the cost. If we ended up not needing an item, we were credited the expense. There were no surprises on the billing statement.
Not only did we get all we wanted, we met a really nice family and team of people who are skilled, friendly, and work well together. And they patiently put up with some changes and unusual design requests. We will continue to call on Carlson for any future projects, larger or small.

We hired Carlson Projects, Inc. to remodel a very unique kitchen in one of our rentals. Their design really brought out the beauty of this older home, increased the value of our rental significantly (we actually ended up selling it to the renters!), and they brought excellent workmanship to the project.

I had a very good experience with Carlson Projects. When I called for an estimate on a broken door, Stefan was able to come assess it in a timely manner. He was also very knowledgeable, & was able to answer all of my questions as well as walk me through different options & what would be most appropriate to do with the problem that I had with my door. Stefan did an incredible job of managing the project and giving us honest advice when we asked for something that may not be in our budget or that may not last. I used Carlson Projects to replace my deck with a composite deck and love it. Stefan helped me pick out a color and material that would work best for my situation. They are very easy to work with and take great pride in what they do!!

These guys do a great job. They replaced my roof last year and did an amazing job. I had them back out to put on a new front door. That job went faster and cheaper than expected, which is always nice.

In 2017 Carlson Projects performed a complete home renovation for us that involved about every aspect of residential construction imaginable. From a complete exterior transformation including new roofing, gutters, windows, siding and stone veneer as well as the addition of a new front porch and a large sun room on the back of the home. The interior was first completely gutted, and a wall removed dividing the kitchen from the great room. And then every room in the home experienced a complete makeover from floor to ceiling. We received a solid estimate along with a lot of help in choosing design and finishes though out the project. Some companies would hesitate to take on a job like this because of the many complexities involved. But the key factor for them is their people. The crew leader was on site every day and his attention to detail was awesome. Everyone working in our home was polite, thoughtful and striving to do a great job. There were literally thousands of decisions to make both big and small and it was a true team effort on their part to help us through them and make our dream home a reality. I would highly recommend Carlson Projects if you are needing this type of remodel.

I am very pleased with Greg Carlson and his team, as they did all the work in our neighborhood (a total of 12 townhomes) after we suffered significant hail damage to roofs and gutters from the May 2016 storm. Our townhome group owners association approached Greg because his company had done a good job on several roof repairs in our neighborhood over the past 15 years, but now the 12 of us needed roof replacement (more than just shingles; in some cases their had been significant wood damage under our previous roofs) and we needed to agree on a single roofing product. Greg and Doug attended a total of three meetings of our association, presented the pros and cons and samples of multiple roofing materials, and described the work that we needed done and why.

The work has now been completed, and the consensus among our association members is that it has been good (our roofs are attractive and recent heavy storms have revealed no leakage or gutter problems), the crews were respectful and cleaned up well, and the price was reasonable. We received good advice in advance of the work and communication was smooth before, during, and after the project. Personally, I feel that Carlson Projects not only met but in many ways exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them.

Carlson Projects does such a good job! They did my roof at my first place and then did repairs on the roof at our new house after high winds tore off a bunch of shingles. A different company put on the roof and made mistakes which Carlson Projects was able to explain and point out so I knew what to expect for the future. Their prices are very reasonable and they are very quick. I was amazed at how fast they completed the work both times! I highly recommend them!

Not to make things awkward, but my husband and I were the potential buyers of the home mentioned in the one star review. Carlson Projects was noting but professional and honest about the potential situation we were facing with the roof. They gave us options and in no way tried to sway us from the making the purchase. They were open and honest about the previous conversations they had with the current owners and what was needed to properly fix the issues. I would definitely contact them in the future!

DONT HIRE THEM. Carlson Projects is not a reputable resource and should not be seen as a company you can trust. They do not look for a resolution to the specific problem but rather they jumped to the biggest more expensive conclusion and convinced a buyer of our house the repair was needed to proceed. What they told the buyer has no validity to the truth or to the roof that is in question. They didn't not notate the actual issue in their report and did not make the buyer aware of it. Then when they learn about it from us, they blame me for improperly doing a repair that wasn't proper. There should be a big red flag to anyone who is looking for a ceramic tile roof person in Lincoln. They don't fully investigate the situation and jump to major conclusions.

Highly recommend Carlson Projects after they did a complete reconstruction of our kitchen-dining room area. They listened carefully to our original request and then gave us a set of images to help us visualize how the new rooms would look. They advised us on counter surfaces, flooring, lighting, color scheme, and appliances, and helped us on shopping trips to make our selections.

Demolition of the old spaces and removal of resulting trash was efficient and considerate of our needs (we stayed in the house for most of the time, as did our two ancient cats) and they produced a minimal amount of dust and no collateral damage. They removed a wall that was not load-bearing, but for extra safety installed a laminated beam to insure structural integrity.

The granite countertops they helped us select are beautiful and carefully fitted to the cabinets.

The work crews that came in were friendly and efficient: cabinetry carefully made, electrical work, plumbing, floor and backsplash tiling, dry wall and painting all according to code and of excellent appearance. They followed up on details of fit and touch-up on any detail we asked them to look at.

The resulting kitchen and dining area is a fine enhancement to our home (1920s "Craftsman Cottage") and we are enjoying learning to use the up-to-date appliances they helped us choose. The workspaces came out just right -- this was one area to which they devoted a lot of attention.

The cost of this project was less than a competitive bid. They stayed within the initial budget, adding only a few extra costs (for example, designer-type cabinet fixtures and an amazing pull-out corner cabinet) that we approved during the initial phase of demolition.

Carlson Projects constructed our basement recreation room with a games area, video facilities and a kitchenette complete with cabinets, microwave, stove and refrigerator. Their work was of superb quality and the project was completed on schedule.The management provided excellent guidance and assistance in planning the project and selecting the materials. The employees were friendly and a joy to work with. I have no hesitation in providing Carlson Projects with a 5 star recommendation!
