Busy Beaver Roofing

I've been dealing with this company Busy Beaver Roofing since 2024, when I originally thought my roof had issues. In 2025 when I did need a roof, I can tell you from dealing with Kevin and his two sons, Mark and Sean, they are the real deal. The glue that holds it all together, Laura.
She answers the phones and runs the office. If your ever having a bad day, call the office and Laura will say "How can I make you smile today." About two weeks ago they came to my home with an army of workers to install my new roof and replace three skylights. Everything they promised from dumpster drop off, material drop off and completion time was executed with laser precision. They were very thorough with the little things like removing my old satellite t.v. brackets and an old weather station that no longer worked to installing and hooking up a vent in my roof for my bathroom exhaust fan . All these things at no extra charge. Once everything was done on the roof the "army" came onto the ground to clean up everything that came off the roof, not missing a single nail or piece of trash. This whole organization is a class act! The best thing was that this company was honest. Expecting no money until the work was done and to the customers satisfied!

Top notch roofing company who’s been doing it for a while!! Beautiful roof completed on my house. 30sq roof done in one day start to finish. Excellent cleanup. They assisted me from beginning to end. Laura is awesome!! Rest assured you are in good hands with these guys!! They help with insurance communication, adjuster appointment, etc. I had a 25yr old roof with wind damaged shingles and a slight leak at a vent pipe, now I have a brand new 50yr roof that looks beautiful and dry as a bone!!

We found Risk Free in a local newspaper ad, which touted their ability to provide a new roof for qualifying customers at a cost of $4,000-5,000. Well, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

We had Kevin come out to assess our roof and I answered his questions. He assured us that we not only qualified, but that the process would be quick and easy. He explained that once we filed a claim, which he would help us do, our insurer would assign an adjuster who would send out an inspector to confirm the damage they had identified, and that all this would happen within a week to ten days. He was confident that our insurer, with whom he had worked many time before, would approve the claim. In fact, he said that he was "99.9% sure" that our insurance company would cover the cost of a new roof, estimated at about $18,000 total, which would all be covered except for our deductible plus $4,000 (for 'upgrades') for what he said was 'wind damage' that they had found.

Well, that's not what happened. The inspector, who was subbing in for the person Kevin had anticipated, filed a report that said that the damage Risk Free had said was caused by wind was instead caused by 'human activity.' This was interesting, as no one had ever been up on our roof in the areas that they had identified. Our insurer then brought in an independent company to verify this report. When Kevin and Sean heard about this, their tone changed completely. They were now convinced that our claim would be denied, as they said that this independent company was a 'hired gun' that insurers used to deny claims. They were so concerned by this news that they hired another inspector from our insurer - on the side - to assess our roof. This person reported to them that the damage was likely caused by "a racoon" (how it got up on our roof and selectively damaged shingles yards apart remains unknown).

To their credit, Sean and Kevin assured me that if the claim was denied, they would put a new roof on our house, as specified, for cost - in our case, $10,400. But when I received an email notice from our insurer that our claim had indeed been denied, I forwarded it to them - and never heard back. Several days later, I called their office and the secretary assured me that she would have them contact me asap. But they never did.

After a few weeks, I asked around to find another roofer, and brought in Dan Keefe from New England Chimney & Roofing.
He quoted me a price $800 less than Risk Free's "at cost" price. And the materials that NECR used were superior to those that Risk Free had planned to use (I checked it out). They did a terrific job! I highly recommend them.

Oh, by the way, while I was asking around, several contractors referred to Risk Free and other such companies as 'storm chasers.' I'd probably use another term.

I was extremely happy with the professionalism that Kevin and his team demonstrated. The shingles on my roof was replaced in two days. It came out beautifully and I was not left with a mess. The process from start to finish was easy and straight forward. Kevin delivered on everything he promised.

I cannot speak to the actual roof as I have not seen the repair, but what I have seen does not inspire confidence. They are professional and earn your business, however they have workers who are not true professionals doing part of the work. They left a balcony wobbly, a rail sticking out, did not seal with lead or caulking where wood meets shingle. I could have done a better job. The professionals who know are not actually doing the work or properly supervising their workers. Sitting in their trucks while the work gets done doesn't count.

I had damage to my roof from the various wind storms and needed to replace my roof , I called Risk Free Home improvements and first spoke with Laura who was fabulous and very accommodating to my hectic schedule . Kevin and Mark came over at the time and day they said they would , they got on my roof and told me what I needed and how to proceed . There were no hidden costs , I made the initial call to my insurance company and they did the rest . When the adjuster came they were there to handle that as well . When it was time for the roof to be replaced they brought over samples on the weekend for me to decide what I wanted , as Kevin said , make sure you pick out what your going to like as you will live with that for many years . Laura on Monday called me with my final decision , we went thru the final process and today my beautiful roof was installed with Mark overseeing the whole project from start to finish . The roofers were extremely hardworking and professional and the clean up was amazing , let’s just say my yard looks better now then when they started . I highly recommend this business to anyone in need of a new roof

This company is OUTSTANDING..!!! The experience I had with them was extremely professional and the quality of work was exceptional. They went over and beyond to finish the project and satisfy our needs.
Just recently I got a call from my father telling me he had a roof leak during a rainstorm... Water was dripping into his second story bathroom flooding the floor. Here's my roof story. My roof srarted leaking after a November Nor'easter storm which left me with some water damage on the ceiling and one wall of my knotty oak pine room. I also noticed I had a couple of missing shingles on the roof so I know it was time to put on a new roof. I remember someone left a pamphlet in my front door indicating that it was possible my insurance would cover the cost of a new roof due to storm and wind damage. Now, my roof was about 13 years old and I thought no way, but what the hell I'll call and find out more. Best phone call I have ever made, In short, my roof went from the old 3 tab style to architecture style, they also replaced all the wood that was bad, replaced the bathroom vent with a new one used high quality shingles and the best underlayment that sets them apart from other roofers. All this was paid by my insurance company minus their 1,900 fee and I have a 1000 deductible on my insurance policy. These guys have a system that was a joy to watch, and I did, every step of the way, I even went on the roof to check out for myself. When the job was done, it was flawless, all edges are perfectly straight, And it didn't stop there, the clean up was just as flawless, like I said Kevin, Shawn and Mark King have a system from beginning to end and their crew of 7 was done in 8 hours. I could go on and on I mean these guys saved me 15 thousand dollars. So do yourself a favor, if you need a new roof call them first.

The team was excellent from inception to completion. They guided us through the whole process as we have never had to go through it before. From Laura always making us smile when we called, to Sean, Mark, and Kevin coming out to the house to inspect, assess, and advise we were always comfortable. They took the time to explain to us every aspect of the process and kept us informed of how long things would take. When the day of the physical work came, the crew arrived early, stayed late, and came back to finish up the next day. They tackled all the "unique" challenges our roof had to offer. Clean up was excellent. Our expectations were exceeded by the Risk Free team every step of the way. It was as easy as apple pie.

When I saw the quality of the work Risk Free Home Improvements had done on 5 other houses on my street, I felt good about contacting them to replace our roof. Sean, Marc, Kevin and Laura were all very helpful during the initial process. They answered all my questions, dealt with the insurance and the town permit.

The roof was started and finished in a day and a half. The crew was extremely careful with the house and property and dealt with any and all problems encountered without asking for additional payment. They even re-shingled the small roofs above our bow windows without us mentioning them. Afterward the yard was cleaned completely like they were never here.

They asked for no payment up front and waited patiently for the insurance payment. Our part of the total cost was way lower than I ever expected. If you need a roof, this is the company to call.

Risk Free Home Improvement replaced the roofs on our house and our garage. Our home is three stories, with a steep and complicated roof line. The crew arrived on schedule and completed most of the job in 2.5 days, as promised. The process uncovered damage to the chimney, which required us to hire a different contractor to rebuild the chimney, and to wait through the winter. During that time there was a winter storm that resulted in leaking at the chimney. We called Risk Free and immediately sent out a crew to address the problem. After the chimney was rebuilt in the spring, Risk Free returned once again to complete roof around the new chimney, and then again to address some minor issues. In all our interactions, Risk Free has been friendly, prompt, professional and honest. We would recommend them without hesitation.

Sean and his team at Risk Free Home Improvements went above and beyond after our roof was damaged. They helped us go through the insurance claims process and were available to assist with every question we had. The quality of work performed to replace our roof was excellent with constant updates and checking in during the installation and at the completion of the project. I would highly recommend Risk Free for any home improvement needs.

It has been over four months that Risk Free Home Improvement replaced my roof of 29 years. As part of the replacement they also installed two replacement skylights. On the day they arrived to do the work it was like a small invasion of professional roof repair craftsmen. In all there were 18 men and women working on the roof. My roof is 4,500 square feet or 135 bundles of shingles. I expected it to take a day or so to do the job. By 10 AM the old roof was removed and the new roof was being installed. By 4PM the job was completed along with the two replacement skylights.
On completion of the project myself and Kevin, the owner, walked my property as a close out inspection. Not a nail or any kind of debris was to be found anywhere. They left the site spotless. At that time I told Kevin that I was "elated" with the work they did. He said that it was the first time he had ever been told that phrase. Not only did they do a fantastic job, the crew was respectful of my home and property.
Last week I went up to clean the gutters I did an up close inspection. I noted that the rows of shingles were evenly spaced but were in perfect alignment. The exposure of the front roof was equal to the back roof of the house. As someone who has done roofing in my younger years this told me that the work was done by true craftsmen who took pride in their work. I have had ice dams with no problems, driving rain with no problems, 70 mph wind and still no problems.
Risk Free Home Improvement did not ask for one penny when we signed the contract. I would not hesitate to have Risk Free Home Improvement to work for me on any project again. Let me just say "FANTASTIC". Ten stars in my opinion!!!! I am truly "elated".

From start to finish everything was seamless. The evening before the job they contacted me to let me know that they would arrive a little later than usual, the day of the job it rained and Kevin called me to reassure me that it was ok because the material on my roof at the time was made for water. As homeowners we often engage contractors and tradesmen to perform a wide variety of both maintenance and repairs on what is for most of us, our most valuable asset. Unless one has a time tested professional whom you’ve used before, this process can be challenging. Who to select? They almost all sound competent and knowledgeable, but truth is, as non-experts, we’re often at their mercy. What I am always looking for is quality, craftsmanship, honesty, timeliness and a fair price. Which brings me to Risk Free Home Improvement (RFHI). This company has everything I just listed. IF YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE A ROOF INSTALLED USE RISK FREE HOME IMPROVEMENT. Don’t do an online search. Don’t phone a friend. Just call Risk Free Home Improvement. You can thank me later. A friend and neighbor had a new roof installed by this company and as is often the case RFHI left a flyer in my mailbox. I too was in need of a roof, so I read carefully their claims. Because of their experience, if you have recent damage to your roof, RFHI is able to work directly with your homeowners insurance company to have your insurance cover an entire new roof, less your deductible. And the best part is they handle everything, from initiating the claim, to working directly with the adjuster to finalizing price. RFHI does it all. When it came time for the installation everything went like clockwork. They showed up on time and finished on time. Two days, start to finish. Not a shred of damage, not a speck of dirt or debris, these guys know their business and do a fantastic job. Additionally, they don’t just replace what you have they install improvements . . . at no extra cost. Examples: RFHI installed a ridge vent over the main structure instead of simply reusing existing box vents; they installed brand new flashing around the chimney, and they extended the ridge vent over the entire length of the family room instead of just replacing what the original builder did. In short, I can’t say enough good things about this very professional company. Call them, You won’t be disappointed.

Our roof was really old with 3 layers of shingles and lots of storm damage. We didn’t have the cash on hand for such a big job and were really in a bind given the state of our roof.
We received a packet at our door on how we could get a new roof. It really seemed to good to be true but we had nothing to loose so I called the number. Low and behold Sean and Mark came to our house explained how they could help us and due to the recent damage from high wind we could utilize our homeowners insurance. It would be totally affordable and doable for us. 3 weeks later a gorgeous new roof for a fraction of what we thought it would cost us. Fantastic job by Risk Free, I would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

2980 sq ft two layers stripped and reroofed in one day, why wouldn't we be happy. I arrived home at 3:30 and found some of the crew policing the neighbors yard too. They will be the first call I make when other improvements are needed. Five stars times two ( is that possible). Thanks guys !

They assisted us in filling an insurance claim for our roof replacement. They handled all the paper work and negotiated a price with the insurance company. The kept us informed along the way. They returned every call within 5 minutes. Their crew was extremely hard working. They gave us a choice of colors of GAF shingles. The roof is beautiful. They cleaned up immediately After finishing each day. They removed two layers of shingles and 90,000 nails. I can’t find a single nail. Great service. Friendly and responsive a great company to work with.

We could not be happier. We had Risk Free come out to give us a price on a new roof as we had some damage from a storm and wanted to get this taken care of before it got worse. They were promt, very informative and polite! We were very impressed from the start. They took care of everything from A-Z. I called after having some shingle issues and my husband was deployed. A few days after a wind storm I found a packet in front of my door. Risk Free was surveying the neighborhood and spotted some shingles on the ground. I was a little hesitant to call thinking it was some sort of scam.

Not only where they able to replace my whole roof at no cost to me but it was the best customer service I have ever had.

I had some shingles blow off my house last year and wasn’t sure how to handle it. A friend told me about Risk Free Home Improvement and that he had a good experience with them. I gave them a call and Mark came right over, he told me that I should contact my Insurance company and see if I had a claim. The process was seamless. Mark was there every step of the way. Within a few weeks the roofers were at my home and they began to strip the roof. Turns out, the roof had three layers of shingles on it. But that’s no problem for these guys. They didn’t skip a beat. My roof was completely finished in one day. Mark from Risk Free Dealt with my Insurance, not one hassle, the guys cleaned up to the extent that you would not even know they were there. Risk Free Home Improvement was a joy to work with. We had our kitchen redone including removing a wall to open up the space. Sean and his team are the best. Their designer John had some great recommendations including the wall removal. The carpenters Joe and Bill were really nice to our dogs and our young son Robert. They kept the space spotless during construction and they finished ahead of schedule.

We called Risk Free Home Improvement again when a tree fell on our roof during a storm. Again they were great. Sean's brother Marc worked with our insurance company to make sure that they paid properly for everything to be replaced. Initially our insurance company only wanted to pay for a roof patch but Marc stayed on them for a couple of months actually and he eventually got them to agree to a total roof replacement.
