Bud"s is where I buy my paints. The staff is kind and helpful. They help this disabled veteran get my purchases to my ride and have always made me feel welcomed. Bud's is some of the best folks around.

Poor customer service and poor attitude. I called to have a custom window screen made. They said the person that handles that would have to call me back. I left my information. A week went by and no call. I then went to their location in person, gave the sales rep the dimensions for the screen. He said the person that does screens was out but that he would call me back when he returns that day with price and when it would be completed. I left my name and number. I never received a call. I called to speak with a manager the next day. I spoke to a Chet who said he was one of the managers. Informed him of the lack of customer service and follow up. His response was "You can take your business to someone else if you choose. We have been busy." No apology and no empathy for causing me to wait for not getting back to me after they stated 2 times they would. You would think a small town business would care about their customers in their community. This is the type of poor customer service that puts companies out of business and encourages consumers to buy online. Dennis Company (ACE) in Raymond is only 5 minutes away from Buds Lumber. Better service and better attitude. Shame on you Bud's Lumber for not caring about your local customers.

We recently moved to South Bend and our house was in need of some significant work. Bud's did some major electrical upgrades as well as other work, and we could not be happier. The work is high quality and the crew was very good to work with. They showed up early and worked long hours to get the job done. The guys were also pleasant to work with and good to have around. The store is also solid and appears to have everything we need in the way of hardware and lumber. If something is not in stock, Ace can send to the store for pickup. Highly recommended!

The young man at the service desk was very helpful fixing my granddaughters toy and finding a replacement screw for it. It's great to have caring customer service that goes the extra mile.

Nice, very nice. I needed printer ink that they did have and they ordered it also called me when it arrived. Most other stores just tell you go to another store like staples which is a 70 mile round trip drive plus time. Thank you Bud's lumber.

I love Bud's! Everytime I go, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful! I usually have a small list and somebody is always willing to walk me around the store to help grab what I need quickly. And I've gotten great advice and suggestions when I have a project I'm working on but I'm not entirely sure what I need/how to do it.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.

4. What is the typical roof leak repair cost, and how is it calculated?

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
