We reached out to Brightworks for a disinterested third party evaluation of our home after AFS personnel were proposing a $21000 investment with steel piers to support our foundation .Bart Berneche of Brightwork Engineering did an excellent job of evaluating & communicating findings on structural integrity of our home . Bart determined we had no structural problems that required expenditures . He did observe a sag in our roof & recommended installing bracing in the attic together with the rafters to support the load . The $575 money spent was worth every penny . I needed a qualified structural engineer to inspect some problems around the house. I had a lot of trouble finding someone who would perform this service on a residence. Bart and his assistant came came out and gave me great advice and information. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. We are remodeling an old home.  We removed a wall and added a structural beam to support the ceiling joists. The building inspector requested a  letter from a structural engineer stating the beam and installation were adequate.  Fortunately, I found BrightWork Engineering.  Mr. Berneche did a beam analysis and made a site inspection visit.  After the visit, he promptly wrote the required letter, stating the beam was sufficient although he noted a couple of installation deficiencies.  We were able to correct these deficiencies.  I was entirely pleased with BrightWork.  Mr. Berneche was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was exactly what I needed. I highly recommend Brightwork.

Building our home was a very complicated project. It was necessary to elevate the new home because of hurricane/flood issues. We literally built a new house on top of the original structure. There were many complex engineering and design issues that were unique to this project. We have been in our new home for almost a year end are very pleased with the way it turned out.
