We’ll never go back to Briggs Kia for another car. I am the owner‘s husband and I’m not even on the car and I would not even go there for my car. I went to Lawrence Kia up in Lawrence Kansas and they’ve been the bomb awesome service even installed my wife’s Front license plate bracket that came with the car did it for complementary and even told me to bring it back when we have a custom license plate and they would help us , Even after my wife got the car brought it home. I called him and asked when I saw the bracket and they wanted to charge me to put it on while the car came with it, That speaks money, hungry dealership if you won’t install the bracket that came with the car for the front license plate part I wanted to charge to put it on. I am highly disappointed, and if my wife’s grandmother helps her get into a different car I’m gonna tell her grandmother not Briggs Kia again. They wanted to charge for everything even though something came with the car and should’ve been installed for free instead of charging me to put it on. If it came with the car, never Installed, you should have some done for free They threw it in with the car in the glove box. The dealership should only get one star because they wanted to charge.

Very easy and quickest vehicle purchase I've ever had. No stress or pressure from anyone.
I feel and I know I got a great deal and fantastic warranties!
The finance guy was amazing and personable.

Service is incompetent. They apparently don't know anything about Kia's.
Had engine noise in my Kia so I go to the Kia dealer thinking they've heard every engine noise a Kia would make and would know how to fix it. They proceed to put in $350 worth of parts $350 worth of labor. I get the car back and it's still making the same noise. They refused to continue working on it, and refused to give me a full refund.
If you need service on your Kia, don't go to this Kia dealer

Nothing but good things to say about this dealership. Selina was great to work with. Test drove the car, filled out some paperwork to take it home for the night, came back with no pressure to buy it. We looked around and ultimately decided Briggs was the best decision. After sitting thru the paperwork, I realized that we bought 2 other cars from Briggs Kia about 10-12 years ago. They were great back then, too!

This has been several months of back-and-forth arguing with this dealership and the Kia company over the failure to replace a very well-documented manufacturing defect in the 2016 Kia Optima engines. First, the dealership required the vehicle to be brought to their location for inspection by their service technicians. I was told my car needed a new starter, and I disagreed with them. They told me they could not proceed with diagnosing the problem until the starter was replaced. I told them to replace it, but that they would have to pay for it because it was not a starter problem. Called later, bent rod failure. The engine is covered under a Lifetime Warranty, and the previous owner had installed a "software" to prevent this issue. After numerous calls and emails, Kia and this dealership refuse to replace the engine. I am now making arrangements to pick up the car, and I have been informed that I need to pay $208 for the new starter they insisted on installing. No, I am not paying for something your dealership was unable to diagnose correctly. Now they are taking the new starter off, the old one is gone, and I will have to pay to put another one on. What a joke!

This place is awesome, I was traveling from Dallas to Topeka to help my son move. My Underbody wasn’t properly put back together from a Kia Dealership in Plano. And they told me the truth on what happened! I’m grateful for pure honesty! So I told my son to make sure he do business with them to service his Kia, Forte! Allen met me as soon as I entered the service office. He had my paperwork ready, reviewed what was going to be done, estimated the time it would take & then escorted me to the waiting area. He came back to the waiting area when my car was ready, reviewed what was done & gave me a copy of the paperwork. I got 5-star treatment just as I had when I purchased my SOUL. Couldn't be more pleased with my ongoing connection to Briggs Topeka!

I came in ready to buy a Corvette and made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to test drive before making any decisions. They told me that would happen, only to slide purchase paperwork in front of me under the guise of “pre-drive paperwork.” Turns out, they were trying to make me buy the car before even driving it. That’s dishonest and predatory.

When I mentioned this, the salespeople were rude and dismissive. This dealership screams predatory.

My husband took my car to get oil changed and wheels aligned. The car didn’t drive right afterwards and would jerk on the highway. He called back to tell them and they said they’d get back with a time he can come in. They never got back to him. The next week, a woman called me (same person he had spoken to) and she questioned why it wasn’t brought in. I explained no one called to schedule a time. She told me she hadn’t ever spoken to my husband… but then said she spoke to him. She proceeded to tell me to go somewhere else closer. Say less. I’ll never be going back

Awful Experience with Briggs Kia Auto Service. It took us over a year, 5 trips in and out to get the problem fixed after we told them several times what the problem was and they admitted that was the problem but didn’t fix it correctly the first time. The lady in the auto service part, Allen and the Auto Service Manager were extremely unprofessional and rude. We were told a certain time guarantee just to be told an even substantial longer time. After we got the key thrown back at us by Allen and told to take our business elsewhere, this is the last time our vehicle will be in there shop.

I’m sharing this report in the hope that no one else has to go through what my family and I have endured with Kia. Our 2016 Kia Sedona’s engine seized at 86,429 miles, despite us never receiving an oil pressure warning light. The experience has been devastating both financially and emotionally.

Here’s what happened:

We purchased our Kia Sedona in December 2019 with 41,012 miles.
In February 2024, at 69,509 miles, the oil pressure switch was replaced under warranty.
In November 2024, at 86,429 miles, the engine completely seized. Shockingly, the oil pressure warning light never illuminated to alert us of any issues.
Despite Kia’s extended warranty for the oil pressure switch (covering 15 years/150,000 miles), they have refused to honor it, claiming that the engine failure was unrelated to the oil pressure switch. However, Kia has failed to provide a transparent or detailed diagnostic report to substantiate this denial.

The Impact on Our Family:

We are a family of seven, including a child with Down syndrome. Reliable transportation is not just a convenience for us—it’s a necessity for our daily lives, from commuting to work to attending medical appointments. With Kia refusing to take responsibility, we were forced to take out a high-interest loan to purchase a replacement vehicle—a financial burden we were unprepared for.

Adding Insult to Injury:

What frustrates us even more is hearing ads for lifetime warranties from Kia dealerships. While Kia is busy promoting new sales, they seem to have forgotten about loyal customers like us. Their lack of accountability and refusal to honor their promises has been heartbreaking and disappointing.

My Demands:

I urge Kia to:

Provide a detailed diagnostic report justifying their decision.
Take responsibility and honor their warranty commitment.
If you’re considering purchasing a Kia, I recommend proceeding with caution. Their warranty promises seem strong at first glance, but when it comes time to rely on them, you may find yourself left out in the cold—just like we were.

Both Coral Perez and Eugene Walker were very helpful in assisting me. I arrived 15 minutes before the facility opened and made it into the building, and Coral was the first one on the premises, and immediately began helping browse for a vehicle. Horrible service. We bought a brand new vehicle earlier this year. The salesman said the warranty covers bumper to bumper, multiple times he said this. We have a little over 10,000 miles on the vehicle now. We are having an issue with one of the doors, this Briggs Kia dealership, where we purchased this vehicle refuses to fix the door. They claim the warranty will not cover it, even though the salesman repeatedly said it would. From now on, I am telling all who will listen not to buy a KIA. I will never purchase a Kia again, lesson learned.

I first gave this place 5 stars for ordering parts from Canada for my Kia (it came from Canada) and Vicki told me that they would be in before Thanksgiving 2024.

However, I haven't received any calls letting me know my part was in. It is April 2025 now.....

I was going to buy my next car from here, but that will not be happening now.

Received a call from Vicki. She formally apologized and took responsibility for her not going forward with the process.

Also, my car was made for Canada. However, it was manufactured in the state of Georgia. So, any parts were available in the United States via Anderson Kia in St Joseph, MO. There was no need to order parts from Canada.

11/29/2025 my vehicle needed general winter maintenance done. All the things done that were needed. Vicki always takes great care of her customers. I usually wait for my vehicle but today dropped off and the courtesy driver was awesome. He was very personable and made the trip to snd from the dealership enjoyable. These are reasons why I continue to take my vehicle here for service.

Took my vehicle in on 04/05/2023 because a light was staying on that shouldn't stay on. KIA was able to take care of it after leaving my vehicle there all day. Thanks for taking care of the problem abd getting me promptly! They even vacuumed the the driver & passenger side.
