Avoid This Contractor at All Costs

My experience with this contractor was frustrating from beginning to end. I hired the company for a simple flashing job, and while the initial quote seemed reasonable, everything fell apart after I paid the requested $200 deposit.

The project was supposed to be completed within a week. Instead, the worker showed up late with the wrong color materials, promised to return, and then vanished for weeks without communication. Eventually, he admitted he couldn’t find the correct materials and asked me to purchase them myself—which took me all of five minutes at a local lumber yard.

Unfortunately, that small hiccup snowballed into months of missed appointments and flimsy excuses. I asked for a refund, and instead of honoring the request, the worker showed up, damaged the materials (making them non-returnable), then declared he couldn’t complete the job.

I dealt directly with the owner, Mr. Bell, who repeatedly promised a refund but failed to deliver. I was left with no choice but to take legal action in small claims court. During the hearing, Mr. Bell concocted a story claiming I changed the job multiple times and that his worker spent hours on site—which my meticulously documented text exchanges completely disproved. The court ruled in my favor, ordering him to repay me for both the down payment and the unusable materials.

Over a year later, even after serving him twice with a writ of execution, he still hasn’t paid the judgment. His complete lack of professionalism and disregard for legal obligations says everything you need to know.

Verdict: If you're considering hiring this contractor—don't. Save your time, your money, and your sanity.

Blue Jay's Roofing & Roof Repair just installed a new roof on our house April 2nd 2025.We did have an unexpected incident but Jay took care of everything.He also put a new roof on our well pumphouse at no extra charge.He also replaced a few rotten rafters at no extra charge.We would recommend and use them again in the future.

A few years ago, we had a roof leak. 2 other roofers said they did not see an issue. BlueJay's identified the problem & fixed the issue that day. Very happy with the service & responsiveness.

Incompetent, unreliable and disrespectful.Called them out for a porch roof leak and some other roof work, we try to use local business when possible. Completed other work, but leak moved from porch to inside house leak. After 2 more attempts and an additional $1000 the porch roof still leaks. Called or texted 15 times over 6 months, every time Jay would say someone would come take care of it. No one ever contacted me or showed up. Eventually spent another $1000 to get a reputable roofer to actually repair the initial problem and the missing screws and half finished job that Jays crew left. Avoid at all costs, not a reputable business.

I contacted Bluejays roofing on a Wednesday, about a roofing issue that needed to be fixed . He was very responsive and came out to get me an estimate . Inspected my roof and let me know what needed to be done to fix it . We decided to move forward with the repair . He said he'd be able to fit me in the schedule for Friday. Very punctual, responsive, and willing to work . I wouldn't hesitate to hire Bluejays roofing again. Excellent work , great customer service

Called Jay mid-day with a roofing issue on a house we have listed. He even came out promptly considering the weather. Appreciate he is willing to look and give an estimate before any commitment. Replaced a section of shingles on our porch that had blown off. Excellent pricing and excellent service. I feel like professionalism is sort of dead in this present day, well not with Jay! Thanks!
