We have had Blue Ridge Heating and Cooling service our HVAC system for the last 5 or 6 years. During that time we have had a couple of breakdowns. Our unit is a little older. Its nice to have a person to call, especially like today when it is 90 degrees.Ian has always found a way to get us into his schedule. Very knowledgeable and affordable. I want to share my experience with Blue Ridge Heating and Cooling, owned by Ian Hall. It’s so important for folks to get their units serviced regularly — and I learned that firsthand this week!

I had a scheduled service appointment with Blue Ridge, and I was absolutely astonished to see how much cat hair had collected in the coils of my unit. YIKES … BYW, I routinely change my filter every 30 days. I keep a very clean house and run my iRobot daily since I have two indoor cats, so I never would have imagined the coils looked like the pictures I attached.

Ian took the time to thoroughly clean them and service the unit. Now it’s running like new — and it’s almost 30 years old!

Just a week before, during one of those 100-degree nights, we noticed the unit was running outside but no air was coming inside, and we couldn’t get it to cut off. Even though it was late, I sent Ian a text asking for help. He immediately responded, talked us through how to turn it off safely, and was at our house first thing the next morning to fix it.

If you have indoor pets — even if you keep a spotless house — remember that your HVAC system works extra hard during these hot days and might need servicing more than you think.

Really great service. Our AC unit went out in the middle of the night. These guys really came through for us. My wife was 40 weeks pregnant. Temperature was all-time high. Very grateful for this company. We will continue to use them in the future.

Ian called me and asked me if I was home I said no but I could be there in 10 minutes. So he arrived a little early, which was not disappointing but by the time I got home, the unit was ready to be fired up and worked perfectly. thank you so much for your quick responses and expediting my situation. We came home around 6 PM to nothing but hot air blowing out of our vents on the hottest day of the summer thus far. I had no idea who to call that might come after hours so I made a post on the Town of Chatham Facebook page asking for suggestions and 2 different people commented Blue Ridge Heating & Cooling. I took my chances and made the call hoping someone would come help us that late. A sweet girl by the name of Katelyn answered and within 30 minutes I was told that Ian would be to our house between 8-9 PM. He arrived within that time frame and had our air fixed within 15 minutes. The service was very reasonably priced (even with the after hours call)!! I highly recommend Blue Ridge Heating & Cooling and will use them for any future repairs or services we may need. Fantastic Job!!

Ian replaced all our flexible ducts and we could not be happier. He also redid a poorly designed section from the original installation (different company a few years back) . Considering how shallow the crawl spaces were Blue Ridge Heating and Cooling went above and beyond.

Called late Saturday afternoon for a HVAC system not blowing cold. Ian was at my house 8 AM Sunday morning to troubleshoot. He determined system could not be repaired and showed me the burnt/melted connectors on the compressor and plug. He and his crew were at my house 7:30 AM Monday morning with a new system and were completed in about 5 hours. New system is working great now. Response and service was outstanding. Responded quickly (same day) to furnace out. Got the furnace working temporarily and completed permanent repair the next morning. Kept in touch by text, email and phone to let me know the problem, cost to repair and when repair would be complete. Good service!

Because of his great service I had him replace my furnace. He installed the attic mounted furnace and a new thermostat in just a few hours.

Received a first inspection and quote and was appalled by the estimate. Ian was referred by a friend, and was my second opinion. He was prompt and on time. He did a thorough inspection of our system. He suggested a whole new unit. Our last was 30 years old, and we knew it was time. Within 5 days the old system was pulled and replaced. It was just a matter of delivery of unit that caused delay.
