My opinion, the company did a lousy job my kitchen floor is worse now so uneven, shop elsewhere. Cheyenne Bilbery dont know how to communicate with the customers complaints. Use different wood on the steps on the back porch, trim is another lousy job around the doors, before you hire please check them out. They dont deserve any stars. All the money i spent out the worst job imaginable. They will come up with whatever suits them for there response, i wish they would of never responded to my ad in the local area group, they knew they would do a lousy job, i thought he took notes with his clip board, how i wanted things, but he kept saying its not in the contract over and over, dont hire them. Period.

I hired Blue Collar Home Remodeling to replace the sheetrock in my 3-car garage after a burst water line in the ceiling flooded it. With the amount of work required, choosing the right business was critical. I couldn’t be happier with Cheyenne and his team. Excellent communication every step of the way, and the quality of work was better than what he replaced. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Blue Collar again!

Many thanks to Cheyenne and Joseph for conquering some complex leveling issues while building a new deck and erecting a metal gazebo over it. Took a little extra time with all the challenges, but they were able to finish within the budget. Thanks!

This post is a little different from the others because I initially called Blue Collar Home Remodeling to provide an estimate on building a lean-to storage shed on a concrete pad that was recently installed. However, Cheyenne immediately noticed multiple problems with the concrete pad and surrounding sidewalk, and cautioned against placing a building on it. Instead of just moving ahead with the job, Cheyenne went the extra mile to bring out his concrete contractor to provide a second opinion. It was not the news I wanted to hear, and despite him having to deliver this traumatic news, I appreciated the honesty. He not only took the time to explain his concerns, but he did it with a caring attitude. And I really appreciated that.

After reading the positive reviews about Cheyenne and his services, I was excited to schedule a visit with him to bid on some projects. On the day of the appt, he texted to say he was unable to find our home, although I thought this was a bit strange since we live in a well populated neighborhood in Union, and no one else has had any issues finding our address. I let Cheyenne know that I would stand at the end of the driveway and wave at him, since it sounded like he was on the correct street. After just a few minutes Cheyenne pulled in with his truck, but he parked in the middle of our easement, blocking our neighbor’s access to and from their home. I politely asked Cheyenne if he could please move his vehicle, but he had a negative attitude from the outset and was clearly annoyed about having to move the truck. After he did so, he carried on about the steepness of the hill leading up to our house and seemed highly irritated about the experience (to clarify, the road is a paved city street and well-maintained). I admit the road is steep, but I lug up the hill everyday, as do the other many neighbors who live here, so you can imagine my surprise that someone with a capable looking truck would make an issue over this. In fact, I just found the whole exchange odd and disappointing. It wasn’t so much that he complained about the road, it was more that he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder from the moment he arrived. I’ve worked with several different contractors on home remodeling projects, and this was by far the worst first impression I’ve ever experienced.

Despite the rocky start, I invited Cheyenne inside, and we were able to review some of the projects that need to be done. In the end, he agreed to schedule a follow up visit with an engineer to discuss my deck rebuild; he was also going to provide an estimate for replacing our downstairs baseboard trim. Unfortunately, I never heard back from anyone at Blue Collar.

I realize not every job is attractive. That said, if you’re not interested in a job because you’re overly concerned about driving up a steep hill, or the scope of the project is outside your skill set (e.g., a second level deck), please just be honest and tell the customer upfront. What some contractors don’t seem to get is that people depend on them to follow through with their promise to communicate; in other words, it creates a frustrating delay to wait for bids that never come. I was really excited to work with Cheyenne, since we’ve been trying to find a dependable contractor we can hire for all of our home projects. I thought this might be Cheyenne, but in hindsight it’s clear his temperament and lack of follow through would not have been a good fit.

RESPONSE TO OWNER WRITTEN JULY 31st

Hi Cheyenne,

Thank you for responding. I do remember you had some concerns about my ideas for a deck expansion. However, you offered to come back with an engineer to fully look at the structure and discuss potential options. The other clear understanding was that you would be in contact to provide an estimate for complete replacement and/or repainting of our baseboard trim.

Generally speaking, potential customers who read owner responses to these reviews can see through ‘spin,’ backpedaling, and a deflection of responsibility. In other words, it’s always best to just acknowledge what could have been done better and move on. Here's an example of a more productive, professional and accurate response:

“Hi Chris, thank you for your review. I am sorry about your experience and if you and I got off to a bad start. I had concerns about your deck expansion and didn’t think I would be able to do this for you. I do apologize, though, for any misunderstanding about returning with an engineer to discuss possible rebuild options. I also apologize if the estimate for your baseboard trim got overlooked. This time of year is incredibly busy for us and sometimes there is some lag time to when we can get to our estimates. Sorry if this caused any delays to your project.”

Cheyenne, of Blue Collar Home Remodeling, just finished remodeling my kitchen. This entailed removing marble countertops and tile backsplash. Installing butcher block counters and new backsplash. He also installed the new hood for my new range. Believe me, there is nothing that Cheyenne can't do or figure out. He is a perfectionist and takes great pride in his work. I am beyond ecstatic with his work. He was very easy to work with and took great care of my home. I will absolutely call on him again for any future projects. I highly recommend him.

I recommend Blue Collar Home Remodeling as I have a cabin that I have been restoring last year was exterior this year was interior and they were able to work as the main contractor since I needed a complete bathroom remodel which also required the addition of adding hot water to the cabin yes there was never any installed prior to me purchasing the cabin also had the cabin re-wired and they found and worked with the Plumber and Electrician to get that all done and to finish it all off insulated the under side of the cabin and installed new flooring on the main floor. They went above and beyond with also hailing away all the extra junk that had been left behind by the previous owners.

I needed a new sliding door installed where there was previously only a window and Cheyenne and crew did a fantastic job on the install, including matching my existing siding. Courteous and professional from start to finish, good communication, and left no trace (aside from the door) when done. 10/10 would work with again.

I experienced a total electrical outage in my living room.
I had absolutely no idea what had happened.
I went on line, posted my issue and Cheyenne replied and came out that day.
Being in Seabeck, it had snowed, but that didn’t stop him. He worked until he found the issue, which was outside. He even came back to rewire my outdoor light.
Cheyenne is honest, reliable, conscientious, and very honest. Qualifications outstanding.
He will be the one I turn to if I need someone in the future.
Thank you Cheyenne

Cheyenne built our shed, (we had a kit from Costco, 6 years just sitting in the garage) He made it work, he listened to what we wanted and had to do a few minor adjustments due to the wood from the kit warping. He's a hard worker and made it right!! Awesome job, we are very happy!!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
