James arrived on time and conducted a thorough inspection of the chimney (inside of home and from rooftop) in a timely manner, but did not rush. He was very courteous and answered questions, demonstrating his expertise in his field. The cost was justified, given his experience and excellent reviews. I would highly recommend him.

We used them last year. Very professional, polite, efficient, and fair with pricing. Called to cancel my appointment this week because I’m sick. They came by, got on the roof and inspected the chimney, and told me it was spotless. They also screwed the cap back on because it had been loosened by recent roofers and was falling off. All for no charge. Very polite, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend them!!!!!

We just had Cody and Josh out to clean our chimney and they were FANTASTIC! They arrived earlier than anticipated which was great, were both very courteous and professional. The chimney was cleaned quickly and Cody took the time to chat with me when they were done to go over how the cleaning went, when they would recommend another cleaning and answered any questions I had.

This company is fantastic, they came out cleaned the chimney, inspected everything, gave us tips on how to fix an unresolved and unnoticed issue that only got worse considering we were relying on the “expert advice” from lazy Bob at Haulin Ash. Next time we have any issues Black Magic will be our first and only call.

They let us know immediately when we could expect their help-- it was a few weeks, but we had planned for that, and I appreciated them being up-front with the realities of their schedule. They were timely, efficient, professional, friendly, followed COVID protocols, and went above and beyond with the service (fixing some issues with our chimney cap, etc.) and advice for keeping things in good repair. Their report also pointed out some things we can get taken care of for additional safety and reliability too. Highly recommended!

These guys were great. We initially called to have our chimney cleaned. They did a great and thorough job on our stove. They also pointed out some things we need to address and changed a gasket for us at no cost. They were aware and respectful of our COVID preferences too. Overall we were really happy and would recommend.

We used black magic to install our wood stove. They were professional, reasonably priced, and even outfitted our retro flue with a custom connection to make it sized to fit current stoves meeting our needs. They came to my house to clean my Chimney. They were Professional & Friendly. They took pictures of the top and insides of my Chimney and showed me Cracks in the Chimney which make it no longer SAFELY Usable!!

James is great. Black Magic Sweeps probably prevented our apartment from burning down. After our old gas fireplace was leaking carbon monoxide, our landlord had a new one installed. The guy didn't install it correctly, and it ended up transferring most of the heat straight to the walls.

We called Black Magic, James was able to come out the same day, and he diagnosed the problem quickly. He got the right parts and installed a fan so that the heat circulated into the room instead of straight to the wall. The fireplace works so much better, and our walls are no longer crumbling and hot to the touch. He's really knowledgeable, and he explained to us what he was doing and why. He's transparent about costs and easy to work with.

I worked with James when he was in Bend and can't recommend him highly enough! He is clean, courteous and professional and a master of his craft.
