Working with Chad and the team at Black Hills Roofing has been incredible. As a partner, I’ve seen their professionalism, quality work, and dedication up close. Chad is responsive, reliable, and truly cares about doing the job right.

Absolutely would not recommend Black Hills Roofing.

After contacting them today for a leak in my storefront, they claimed we have a $1,500 unpaid invoice from 2022, yet couldn’t provide an exact amount or any documentation. When I asked where the invoice was sent, the response was simply “to you.” I asked what email address was used—he didn’t know. I requested he forward the emails he claimed were sent—he refused. They have refused to provide a copy of the invoice, any proof of communication, or provide evidence to my request for all claimed correspondences. I’ve searched thoroughly and found no record of any such invoice ever being sent nor any emails other than our signed contracts.

To clarify: we paid Black Hills Roofing over $56,000 in the same year—$1,200 for an emergency patch, $5,000 for a temporary repair, and $50,000 for a full roof replacement. All payments were made in full, and I have the documentation to prove it.

Yet they are attempting to void our 5-year workmanship warranty over a $1,500 balance they cannot substantiate—and are refusing to produce any evidence of??? While on the phone with them, I was actively digging through my emails because they couldn’t even confirm what email address or phone number they supposedly used to contact me “numerous times.”

Instead of handling the situation professionally, their representative was rude, dismissive, and treated me with complete disrespect. When I pressed for clarity, he stated he had “personally voided” our 5 year warranty—without any written explanation or formal notification. Just some handwritten notes he claimed were in my file.

Thankfully, our 20-year warranty is through Sarnafil, and I’ve confirmed that it remains valid.

It's also worth mentioning that Black Hills Roofing was referred to us by a property manager we ultimately fired for unethical behavior—a connection that, in hindsight, speaks volumes.

I will never work with Black Hills Roofing again. I’ve never experienced such blatant disregard and unprofessionalism from a company—and I will never give them the opportunity to do so again.

Black Hills roofing has gone to great lengths to help us out. Would highly recommend giving them a call for any roofing concerns.

Black Hills Roofing has replaced 2 roofs for us on commercial buildings - one in 2025 and the other in 2023. These were large structures occupied by tenants so having a professional, insured roofing company was imperative. Chad was excellent at communications and coordinating the process. I felt their pricing was fair and I appreciated that promises made were promises kept. I would use them again if needed.

I highly recommend BHR for your roofing needs, repairs, composite shingle, & the highest quality and tech with large commercial flat roofs.

Having flat roofs on two commercial properties for 20+ years, I’ve ONLY called Black Hills Roofing when the roofs needed attention. BHR absolutely knows what is needed to be done. Professional advice is always given, Chad and crew work well & closely with insurance appraisers and companies, and most of all, install 10 year warranty product when needed. 5 stars!

I called them to replace a roof vent and they showed up the next day to give me a quote. They then showed up the following day and did the work. They did a great job!
I’ve also had them do several jobs where I work and they’ve done a great job every time.

They were awesome from beginning to the end. They first looked over the estimate from the insurance company and saw a couple things that they had missed. Then they talked to my insurance company and got them to cover the things they missed. They also came when they said they would and got the roof replaced all in one day. The cleanup was fantastic!! I would highly recommend them to all my friends!!

Did a great job in a timely fashion replacing two roofs and gutters for us on our home and guest house on our place. Would highly recommend.
