I can't stress enough how impressed I have been with this company. Family owned and incredibly responsive. In fact, came over on a saturday to fix a problem caused by the wind same day on his day off!

They installed my roof as a new construciton and if we build again or need a new roof anytime soon, BJ Roofing is my first and go to company.

Support these local companies that do right! Well done BJ ROOFING!

This company put our roof on in Liberty Lake. We had a new construction home with plenty of contractors who have disappeared/gone out of business/won’t call back. Not BJ Roofing.

Fixing trouble spots on a windy peak, doing follow up inspections, truthfully assessing hail damage (so far we seemed to have not taken any damage), and making us as a customer a priority over new business are a few of the reasons for the review.

While I wouldn’t recommend our GC who specializes in CONTEMPOary homes, I would 100% recommend this company. Great business and great people.

I too hate to leave this and took some time to ponder before doing so. Right before Covid we contacted Brad for a quote. He told us he was busy, but he would fit us in when he could. I agreed as he was local and I had no real timeline. He said to remind him via text. I did, and he continued to respond they would be there..fast forward, after the summer had come and gone, the communication stopped and he didn't contact us at all. I figured some of it to be due to Covid so I cut some slack on any expectations (A lot of slack). However, I never received any communication back. So we tarped our roof waiting for spring. Fast forward, Covid is no longer the issue. I again contacted Brad and he agreed he would fit us in, in fact stated he would keep the price down because of all the issues. But again, no communication. I am guessing our job is too small and insignificant (an old shed). The deal is, we have had opportunities to recommend for other roofing jobs (he certainly was not on our list). We will have to replace our house roof one day also...he will not be on my call list. I am sad to leave such a negative review, but it wasn't until I started the process again and found out what good communication is.

It saddens me deeply to have to share my great disappointment with Bradley Hemenway of BJ ROOFING in the greater Spokane/Spokane Valley area. I initially contacted him in early October 2021 about obtaining a roofing repair quote after receiving his firm’s name via referral.

He made it crystal clear that he no longer accepts “new” clients, but only referral work and that as such, he would arrange a time to look at the roof in Spokane Valley on 19 October 2021. Hemenway arrived promptly and completed the inspection and was thorough, complete, polite and very professional. We were tremendously grateful, not to mention relieved to have found him for this job.

He mentioned that, at the moment, his firm was on the busier side, but that they should be able to get to the repair early November. He asked that we continue to follow-up with him directly via phone if we didn’t hear anything regarding scheduling the repair. By November 15, we never heard anything. I sent a message to him and Brad called to tell me they were prioritizing new customers with weather-related emergencies and that I should call back if I didn’t hear back in a week or so if I didn’t hear anything.

By December 9th, WELL past the allotted time, we still heard NOTHING from Brad or his team and I reached out again. This time he said: “Next week we will be going full force on the repairs. I will keep in touch. If you have not heard from me end of next week, please reach out.”

By December 17th, we still hadn’t heard anything, so I reached out again. We never received a response until January 4th. Granted, we’re amidst the Christmas and New Year’s Holiday now… but this is just ridiculous, unprofessional and highly disappointing. Especially considering that as evidenced by other posted reviews, Hemenway has obtained NEW repair customers who called him for repair work after we did AND executed their repair work before we’ve even been scheduled.

Had a roof vent blow off. Called on a Sunday, got a call back, and scheduled service for Monday. They showed up on time, quickly competed the repair, and charged us fairly. Very impressed with their service!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
