We hired Barker for a full house remodel and they did a wonderful job. The crews were always friendly, respectful, and on time. Their carpenters are highly skilled, always ensuring quality work. I had an idea on my kitchen layout but needed help bringing that to life. Jim worked with me on a custom design to meet our needs, and it came out beautifully. I appreciate that the Barkers are a local family and generational business. Overall we’ve had great experiences with them and would recommend.

Barker significantly underquoted an estimate by several thousand dollars. I expected the quote to be reasonably accurate, and this discrepancy alone would not have been an issue had it been communicated. However, Barker confirmed the original pricing even after all the work was completed, but before the final invoice. No mention was made of the new cost or changes in work until the final quote was presented, at which point Barker demanded payment within five days. While I understand that exact precision is not always possible, I do expect estimates to be accurate enough to make informed budgetary decisions, or to have a discussion when changes occur. Be aware that if you rely on an estimate or quote to budget a project or select a contractor, Barker may not feel obligated to provide an accurate estimate, and you may only discover significant differences upon receiving the final bill.
