Auto Clinic

The auto clinic is a lifesaver. They know what they’re doing, and are precise. Within 3 hours of being towed, I was on my way driving after repairs.

The staff at the Auto Clinic, particularly Jason, went above and beyond the scope of their work to get us back on the road after facing overheating in the car with few other options to which we could turn. 5 stars is truly not enough - we will forever be grateful for the help finding a place to stay and the great, timely repair. My tire pressure dropped while my son and I were on our way to Burlington. I got off the Barre exit and was fortunate to stop in to the Auto Clinic. Jason got me in, checked my tire pressure, and filled my tires up. I was able to make it to Burlington and back home. I got my winter tires on today thankfully but I’m grateful for the excellent customer service they provided. If I lived closer, I would get my car serviced here. I highly recommend.

Fast friendly service. Got my truck in for oil change in just days instead of weeks and did the oil change and tire rotation timely

Jason is a true professional!! He told me to drop my truck off on Monday and I didn't listen and dropped it off 2 days early due to brake issues and he said " No worries...not a problem!" I highly recommend using the Auto Clinic!!

Would not recommend having your car towed here after an accident. I would recommend having your car towed to Clark’s Collision down the road where we first thought our car was towed. My partner and I were in an accident in January and our car was towed to the Auto Clinic. When we arrived to collect our belongings from the car, the woman in the office was extremely rude. We moved to VT from NY in the fall and at the time of our accident our car was still registered in NY so we still had NY plates. Once we had confirmed our car was there, the woman proceeds to tell us that most accidents happen because of out state drivers who don’t know how to drive in winter conditions and tries to tell us how to better handle driving in winter conditions. First, we come from a part of NY that can see more snowfall than this area of VT and have had plenty of experience driving in horrible winter conditions. Second, we weren’t at fault, the driver in front us lost control of their vehicle and went perpendicular. Either way, regardless of who is at fault, what an extremely insensitive and close minded statement to say to someone who has just been in a scary situation. The staff at Clark’s collision was more friendly, more empathetic, and overall more of a joy to talk to. I would highly recommend them over this place.

I understand that they do their job with towing, I’m happy to pay the fee. However 70$ a day for a parking is crazy, especially when you have no other option because they are closed on weekends and you forcefully have to leave your car there with no option to pick it up. Some incidents happen but also taking advantage of college students is very sad. I hope you enjoy the 140 that you made just storing a car that wasn’t even mine while I’ll have to work extra shifts.

Beware of EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES… my advice is to ask for a quote before work is done. These guys did extra work that I did not authorize. Went in for a quick vehicle inspection and tire swap and was given a $1,250 bill just 5 hours later… Not thrilled with this place. Cost of labor through the roof. No hourly labor rate was listed on my bill… yet the cost of labor was $650. Mind blown.. and not in a good way

11/01/21 - On our vacation up to Stowe,VT from Massachusetts, the bolts on the belt tensioner and power steering pump decided to break. This caused the power steering pump to fall off, the serpentine belt to come loose, engine to overheat and the alternator to fail on our 2006 Honda CR-V on the side of I-89. We were then towed to Auto Clinic in Barre, VT about 30 minutes from the disaster we had just encountered. Upon arrival, the owner of the shop reassured us while also giving us a realistic description of the carnage that occured. Within the hour, A technician IMMEDIATELY began on extracting the difficult to reach bolts and address the repair. This put our minds at ease and back on our way with all our cargo to our AirBnB rental. A+++++ professionalism, these guys are a class act. Thank you so much for saving us money and our vacation!!!

I had my heavy duty diesel truck and my wife's Tahoe undercoated here recently. They're both brand new and I'm extremely particular, so I was a bit apprehensive about bringing them somewhere to get undercoated. I decided on The Auto Clinic and they were not only helpful in accommodating my schedule, but they were reassuring when I explained that I was a bit nervous about a technician possibly smearing grease inside my vehicles and such. They explained that they work on newer vehicles regularly and their staff are trained to pay attention. Although I never asked for a price, (I wanted the job done right, not done to fit within a price point) they offered a regular fluid film and a more expensive black fluid film. I went with the black, but I thought it was nice that they offered two choices. When I got my vehicles back they were spotless inside; I couldn't even tell that someone else got in them. The undercoating was laid on VERY thick and carefully and in every area of concern, while ensuring that they didn't get it on areas where it shouldn't be. They even sprayed where the lift covers the frame after they took it back off the lift, and that's a detail that I've never seen any other place pay attention to. I've gotten my vehicles back from undercoating at other places in the past and have been disappointed, as a lot of places just do a "quickie" and don't use a lot of product, in order to fit an advertised price "special." One thing I've learned with repair places over the years, is that you aren't getting a good deal just because the price is low. Undercoating is the best investment that you can make in a new vehicle, and if it isn't done right, or if it's done haphazardly, you may as well have not done it at all! As previously mentioned, I never asked for a price, but when I got my bill, it was almost exactly what I expected. I was very happy with the overall value here, which takes quality of work and price into account. Remembering that I was picky, the owner even came out when I picked the vehicles up and asked if I had a garage, and told me that I may want to park them outside for a few days as they might drip. I was glad that he mentioned this; I parked them in the street for a few days and they dripped there instead of in my nice clean garage! Thanks guys; keep up the great work!

CON MAN. Jason, the owner, replaced my alternator and charged me $500, then it died less than 2 weeks later. Tried to return it and get a refund but REFUSED to give me one even when I had the receipt and he didn't even try to look up the number on the alternator to prove it was his. He accused me of taking out my alternator right before I gave it to him "it's still warm" and when my mechanic tried to speak to him, he refused to speak. He gave me so much attitude, overcharged me, and scammed me. I am taking this up with the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT GIVE HIM THE PLEASURE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

I was in a scramble to find winter tires last minute (because that's just who I am) and I found some at Auto Clinic. Not only did I find tires, they got me in SAME DAY to put them on. I got there and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The service was friendly and they went so far above and beyond to accommodate me. Words can't express how grateful I am to them for doing this. My brother is a mechanic and I never thought I would go somewhere else, but since moving away from my hometown - it's too far to travel to my brother. Auto clinic just gained a loyal customer - even if I have to drive half hour to get there!! Thank you SO much!!!

Auto Clinic was great. It was my first time and I will be a customer from now on. Very honest and cared more about was was best then the money he could get.

I thought I had found a good place, that was reasonable, the mechanic there, Maynard is very good, but, the parts prices were four hundred 400% of what they cost, .. Everything was more expensive than it should've been, the owner would not confirm what the cost was,, a $700 dollar job cost $1500, A $16 wheel bearing was $100 .... The owner lied about the price of things and was indignant when I asked to go over the bill ...

I have never written anything negative about a business but I was just charged $224.90 for an hour and fifteen minutes of labor. It’s too bad because the people were friendly and the service was fast. I assumed the majority of the bill was parts but when I got home I looked at the breakdown of my bill and the parts were less than the labor. Too bad because if I never looked at the bill I probably would have gone back.

I was recently referred to the Auto Clinic for a problem that two mechanics couldn't diagnose. The Auto Clinic not only diagnosed that problem, but many others my mechanic was neglecting to tell me about. Instead of just telling me the problem the owner and the mechanic working on my vehicle took me underneath my car to show me exactly what was wrong. They quoted me how much it would cost, ordered the special parts & started working on my vehicle with the stock parts they already had. The owners wife gave me a ride to work , which I thought was above and beyond amazing customer service. My car was completely done in less than 24 hours & the difference I felt was incredible. The shop is beautiful, the staff is honest & friendly. This family owned business will be my first stop the next time I need anything done.

Absolutely awesome folks to deal with. Very professional in courteous definitely will continue doing business and suggest others to try them out. Haven't found anything better in the area.

I recently had some repairs done on my car at the Auto Clinic. The owner noticed that my tires were also in very poor shape as well and asked me if I wanted to buy some tires. I declined and told him I would have to wait on the tires as I didn't have enough money. When I picked up my car the owner gave me a free pair of used tires and mounted and balanced them for me free of charge. They were able to fix my car quickly and always do quality work. They are one of the few repair shops that are actually open on Saturdays as well. I highly reccomend as they go above and beyond for their customers.

Very unhappy these people are crooks they towed my car 10 miles and told me 150 for a tow 50 for storage today when I went and got it it ended up costing $260 where just about anyone else charges $75 dont do business here unless your looking to get ripped off

Great garage. Had a couple of tow outs and they were always friendly. Got an inspection there in no time compared to a local dealer.

I've been going here for 2yrs and have great service everytime. Jason and his team are nice and knowledgeable and take the time to answer my questions.

These guys saved my butt when I broke down in Barre. After waiting over an hour for a USAA tow dispatch, I got fed up and called around until I found an available tow. Turns out they could get me in, assess my vehicle, and get me out that same afternoon, and even did an amazing job keeping the repairs reasonably priced without cutting corners.
I brought my vehicle back to them after a similar incident (different problem!) and stumped my regular mechanic. Once again, assessed and had the hard to find parts ordered the next day.

Pleasant, competent, wonderful adorable friendly huge dogs to pat! Good tires at fair prices. Using them for a a decade and have recommended them to others who also report being pleased.

Jason sold me my pickup and has taken care of it ever since. I am very pleased with The Auto Clinic and the work they do!
