The AHP team was great to work with. They built us a beautiful home in just 120 days, even with some delays due to bad weather. When any issues popped up they made sure that they were taken care of quickly and to our satisfaction. They made the home building process very straightforward and as stress free as possible. Our home was exactly what we asked for we couldn't be happier with it.

The build got done quick over the winter and holidays to close in April. The build got done well and I didn't have to micromanage. I'd definitely call America's Home Place if I needed to build again. Thanks Greg and Quinten!

We just moved into our home after the basement was dug October 7. We’ve had a very good experience beginning with our initial visit with Greg. My husband has a lot of experience with building as we built our first home. He was impressed with the construction after attending an open house. Greg helped us put together the home we wanted. Marie was fun to work with as we chose our colors and accessories. Our site manager Quinton was by our side the entire process. He was easy to reach and communicated progress and concerns…..sometimes several times a week. So far so good!

AMAZING! From day one when we met with Greg in the Sunbury office we have been so happy. He was incredible and had an answer to every question. Maria showed us all the beautiful customization options for everything. Grant was very thorough in our final meeting when we signed our build agreement. Taylor, our project manager was on top of things the whole way through, answered any questions we had very promptly, and was able to fulfill any request we had. Everyone was fantastic! We had visited and received quotes from four other builders prior to meeting with AHP. AHP is the way to go! A very timely build, and done very well! We highly recommend! Dig day was September 17th, 2024 and move in day was January 28th, 2025.

We are currently in the building process with AHP and wanted to give a current review. Will update as finished.

So far our process has been enjoyable. Starting with Greg, he helped us build and customize our home exactly how we wanted it. Not to mention, he is extremely responsive and quick. Maria from our color meeting was so fun to work with and made us feel very comfortable. They have worked very well with our bank and had no issues so far through the draw process. Our project manager Nick has been great to work with. We started digging on 10/31 and he has kept things moving nicely as we are drywalled in and beginning interior work. He has also helped us work through any complications that have come along with building. We cant wait to finish our home and provide a updated final review!

My husband and I went to America"s Home Place to see what they had to offer. Braeden helped us that day. We were grateful for his time in answering our questions, showing the model homes on site, and going through the home layouts and furnishings available. We are very impressed with the selections! My wife and I have been looking for a custom home builder locally and we stopped by their showroom. We met some of their management staff and sales team and talked for a long time. They were super friendly and knowledgeable and showed us a couple of their spec homes while answering so many of our questions. We look forward to working with them in the near future! I love so many things about our new comfortable cozy home. And it felt like home as soon as we moved in.
The open view from the front door to the sunroom is a real blessing and it is the biggest attraction for visitors.

We are so happy with our house we built with America's Home Place. Everyone involved was so knowledgeable and always answered all our questions and concerns. Taylor was our site manager. AHP is the best, so don’t even bother with all the rest! My husband and I spent a year researching and talking to other home builders in central and southern Ohio, but found that these guys had absolutely everything we were looking for in our first and forever home.

We started our journey with them in February, our dig day was in July, and by November we were moving in! Special recognition to Greg, Betsy, and of course our amazing Project Manager, Taylor! He diligently kept us in the loop and expertly answered every question and concern we had along the way.

Thank you to all of AHP Sunbury for your hard work, it’s been absolutely lovely working with all of you before, during, and even after the build. Our whole family is loving our new beautiful open floor plan home and look forward to a lifetime of memories here!

At the beginning of the project, this builder demonstrated strong professionalism and had a clear plan. The initial stages of construction seemed to go smoothly, and we were optimistic about the work. However, as the project progressed, things quickly took a turn for the worse. Communication broke down, and we were lied to on multiple occasions.

The builder failed to meet agreed-upon deadlines and did not follow through with the materials specified in our contract. This led to growing frustration and disappointment. For instance, the windows that were installed were not the product we had agreed to and paid for. During a walk-through after the delayed installation of the windows and doors, we noticed that the windows were single-hung, not the high-quality double-hung windows that were promised. We were never informed about this substitution, leaving us blindsided and dissatisfied.

Unfortunately, we encountered ongoing issues with the home, and we believe the quality of work has declined over a very short period of time. We feel that the builder's actions have contributed to the problems we are facing, leading to an unsafe living situation.

This builder has caused significant stress, delays, and financial strain. I cannot recommend them based on our experience.

The photos posted in this review are from April 2022 to present. We moved into our home August 2021. It will have to be a complete tear down and hopefully some day we will be able to start over.

Greg is the most helpful at building a new home. We went with America's Home place because of him. He spent approximately 2 hrs with us our first visit, asked the size of the lot and layed out 5-10 plans that would fit our lot. We came back and bought! The staff is awesome!

We were first time builders and the experience was smooth and fast! They truly are “Custom Home Builders”! They allowed us to design the most amazing forever home, complete with a hidden pantry, unique master walkthrough closet & laundry room, and beautiful outdoor living space! I have been working with American Home Place Sunbury division for some time now and I have nothing but good things to say. I deal with the office and the Project Manager, I have a great deal of respect for all of them.

We researched and looked for a builder to build a home on our property, for 3 years. We were very impressed with the standard finishes that AHP offers! Greg made the process of picking finishes easy, with his expertise and all around knowledge of what looks good, and was so helpful when it came to bringing it all together! He made the process enjoyable and he was so patient, as we navigated our way through the initial process as we were first time home builders. He also recommended a lender to use for the construction loan, and the process was as smooth a silk, all the through. Taylor was responsive to questions or concerns we had and he worked very hard to make us happy with any problems that needed addressed, as is common with any new build. We had heard some horror stories with other builders not taking care of issues, and even blaming the homeowners. This was not the case with AHP! The entire staff was always pleasant and responsive all along the way! We have been in our home for 1 month now, and we are loving it!

I just closed on my new forever home, and I couldn't be more thrilled! From start to finish, the entire experience was amazing. Greg, my salesman, and Quinten, my project manager, made the process seamless and stress-free. Their kindness, patience, and expertise really stood out.

As a Realtor, I choose to bring my New Build Clients to America's Home Place. AHP has always done a wonderful job understanding the needs of my client, and delivering a fantastic experience/product. I highly recommend AHP to anyone looking to build.

The builder asked us several times to leave a google review, and I’ve been waiting until after our warranty period to do so hoping they’d fix our issues- to no avail. We’ve been in our home two years and our ceilings are still a mess (they finally pulled down the stamping and redid, however they left a mess around the edges of the room), our carpet in the living room isn’t long enough and doesn’t meet the transition strip so we continuously step on tacks (not their fault according to them), fireplace insert allows in cold air in the winter (they tried to fix then gave up I guess), mirrors are already tarnished around the edges (not their fault, according to them), granite countertops have marker marks on them from the distributor (not their fault, according to them), shoddy carpentry throughout (doors should not be peeling and have hardware popping off, cabinetry is cheaply made and the edges are already worn and raw in places they shouldn’t- not normal wear and tear, quarter round comes together and raw edges show), outside vents aren’t installed correctly and the oven vent is extremely loud when it’s windy), the outlets in half the kitchen quit working, and all around our house feels cheaply made. On top of it, the “warranty” team turned over 3 times during the process, so we had to start over and lost time and information along the way. I’m so disappointed. We were so excited to build our dream home, and now we’re considering moving.

Update- the newest issue is that our subfloor isn’t screwed into the floor joyst in our bedroom, so the flooring is coming up.

Second update- all of the drywall tape and corners that came apart from the ceiling have done so again, and also a large crack on both sides of our bedroom door has reapppeared- all things they “fixed” with the warranty. Last time the wall cracked, we couldn’t shut our bedroom door. Also, the floor joyst issue is now causing problems in the master bathroom.

My husband and I recently moved into our stunning new home built on our land. This is our first time building, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with America’s Home Place! Their team is top notch- efficient, kind, and informative. Our home was built in a timely manner (4 months!) but most importantly with high quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Special shout out to Taylor! He was always available for any questions along the way, and explains each step of the building process so well. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend America’s Home Place to friends and family.

Americas Home Place was an absolute joy to work alongside while my wife and I built our forever home. Starting with Greg Szott we were able to have an amazing Sales Manager who knew everything we could ask. His was able help us design the house we wanted but stay in line with our budget we set out for. His expertise and energy made this process quick and easy and really set the tone for the rest of our build. Once we got to building Grant McHugh took over as our Project Manager and we couldn’t have asked for a better person on the job. He was attentive, knew everything that was happening, and made sure that we didn’t have anything to worry about during the process. He was always quick to answer or meet us at the site and show us what was going on, good and bad. Grant was very detailed in his process and wasn’t afraid to solve problems on his own to address concerns we had. At the end of everything, we were able to come in under budget and ahead of schedule and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Our family has loved the home that America’s Home Place helped us build and I can’t thank Greg, Grant, and now John, enough for all they did and continue to do for us.

As we explored various builders in the area (and it being our first new build), we didn't know what to expect. We stopped in to the America's Home Place show room and were blown away after speaking with Greg Szott! He was extremely approachable, very open and transparent about the process, answered any and all questions that we had regarding the building process, and was a joy to work with from the very get-go.

Once we decided to ultimately go with AHP, we were fortunate to work with Taylor Pass, our Project Manager on the new build. Taylor took the time to explain what was happening each week of the build and answer any questions or concerns that we had along the way! Being that Taylor was so on top of it, he really put any concerns we had at ease! It was a very smooth (and relatively quick) process from breaking ground until the keys were handed over!

And when I didn’t see it I’d come to the house and Quinten had done found the smallest speck on a couple cabinet doors and they were replaced. I’m am so glad I chose AHP. My house was done in 7 mos. Great experience. Very fast and efficient construction process. Taylor was excellent to deal with and addressed all of our concerns. They use quality products for construction and do not cut corners. I highly recommend them!

I am speaking only to the sales portion of my experience because we are set to build in March. We are building with the Sunbury, Ohio office and we have nothing but great things to say! I only wish I had known about AHP when my parents built their retirement home because I definitely would have recommended them. In comparison to other builders, AHP has considerably better customer relations, not to mention that most "upgrades" with others builders like granite, 9 foot ceilings, and poured basements are actually INCLUDED in almost all of AHP's base plan prices!

Overall, our experience with Greg in particular was extremely professional and helpful. His personality is top notch and he is a complete delight to work with! He knew all the right questions to ask and was very attentive and efficient as we went through all the plans and options together. He was very knowledgeable and a wealth of information when it came to any questions or concerns we had. Throughout the whole process he has always been immediately responsive to all correspondence, answering right away to assist in all the big decisions concerning budget and upgrades. He was also VERY patient with us because we both tend to be picky about how things look, but at the same time we wanted to be as frugal as possible. He was always conscious and respectful with our budget and NEVER tried to up-sell us with additional items we expressed no interest in or felt we didn't need. He's a great listener, very intuitive, and knows how to support his customers to make sure they are getting the end product they desire. He even entertained our children with coloring books and activities during our meetings! WOW!

Based on our experience thus far I cannot see giving a rating any less than 5 stars. They say first impressions are everything and if our experience with Greg is any indication of how the build will go I have absolutely no reservations and look forward to working with the rest of the team to finish our new home!

My husband and I stumbled on AHP and it was the best thing we could have ever done. America’s Home Place is a true custom builder. They helped us design a floor plan and a finished basement that met every single one of our requests. They build a house the right way without cutting corners and include quality products as standard. From start to finish, there was no down time and our house was finished ahead of schedule. My husband has over 30 years experience in new construction as a plumbing contractor and inspector and there is no other builder we wanted to build our home. Our new home is truly a dream come true!

AHP was highly recommended to my wife and I. It played a large role in our ultimate decision to build with them. We chose them over other builders based on the quality of the materials used, standard features offered, and the overall price for the style of home we wanted. America’s Home Place just completed our custom built home last week and my husband and I couldn’t be happier with the entire process! AHP is the only residential builder we still do houses for because they match our ideals of quality. They are the only builder i would recommend because of the level of detail quality and care that go into each build.

Greg and his staff have been wonderful! We started looking at builders over a year ago and couldn't find the same level of quality with anyone else. The floor plans were all so functional with no wasted space. We also appreciated that we were always greeted warmly and never pressured. The product truly sells itself. Less than a year ago we had a dream to build an affordable home near Columbus Ohio. From the moment we walked in the door at America's Home Place Sunbury Ohio we felt comfortable and cared for. It is quite the process to start from scratch but working with the designers and construction managers we felt we were in good hands getting some sound advice. We needed a few changes with our Kimberly style home design and since they allowed modifications to their designs we had a customized home that was perfect for us. We loved watching our home being built. We were not able to be close by for the majority of the construction phase and having photos and videos sent to us from our construction manager was amazing! Their organized process reduced stress and made it a seamless experience. We were a text away from any questions which were answered promptly and respectfully. Our family had the best experience working with America’s Home Place in Sunbury, Ohio. We started planning in December of 2022, and we moved to our house 128 days later! Taylor and Damon did an exceptional job overseeing every aspect of our house. Taylor checked in with us weekly (maybe more) to go over each week’s progress and any questions we had. They went above and beyond to make sure the house was to our satisfaction. The house is on 33 acres in Granville, Ohio, and they learned everything about the land before they started building. There were multiple people working on the land (not from their company), and they went out of their way to make sure they worked alongside them. Their attention to detail, customer service, promptness, and quality are phenomenal. I highly recommend using America’s Home Place for your new build!!

My wife and I decided to go with America’s Home Place after meeting with several builders in the Central Ohio Area. Greg really explained the process well and was willing to help accommodate all of our wishes for the house. Sean really helped us nail down the final plan and helped put our vision onto paper. Grant, our Project Manager, was unbelievable from day one. From bringing us coffee on our site visit, to sending us weekly videos from the house with updates, Grant always kept us in the loop and aware of what was going on with the house. Not only that, Grant had us in our house in under five months, and it’s surpassed all of our expectations.

Grant was our PM and worked very hard to meet my particular needs as a mold sensitive person. The house was under roof in about a month, with only one day of moisture. He pushed to get the HVAC in to keep it warm and dry. He had the framers switch out some of the studs that looked a bit mildly or chewed up. I called him frequently and he was always pleasant and professional, even if he couldn't do everything I asked for. He would fix things as it went along, as he has building skills. This company is full of good people, who take pride in their job and listen to the customer.

We are still in the building process, but just a few weeks away from completion. Our experience with America's Home place has been amazing!! Thanks to Greg, Betsy, Sean, Lisa and Damon for helping us find a home that fit on our lot, designing our home the way we want it and always eager to answer our questions. We have been in the building process with AHP for almost a year now and we have had a wonderful experience so far. Greg helped us designed a floorplan that is perfect for our needs. Sean (the project manager) helped fine tune the details. From there, Taylor has been our project manager for the actual dig/build. My husband expressed how excited he would be if he could "dig the first hole" on the dig day and Taylor went above and beyond to the point of painting a gold shovel for us to use to dig the first hole complete with hardhats. This has been such a fun process and we are so thankful that we chose AHP to build our home.

We looked at several different homebuilders, and after looking at the quality of all, we decided to go with America’s Home Place. The trim work and interior painting were topnotch. The quality of the materials was excellent. Greg and Lisa were very helpful, friendly and accommodating as we went through the design process. Sean was very patient with all of our questions as we went through the final review. Grant, our project manager, was on top of everything. He was on time and kept everyone to a tight schedule. He answered 1001 questions for us and was very responsive & timely with any questions and his communication. In fact, our home was built ahead of schedule

Building a home can be very
stressful, but Americas Home Place staff all made it a little bit better

This is the 4th home I've built and my husband's second but it was our first time with America's Home Place. My husband and I build furniture together so we are very picky when it comes to builders. America's Home Place is a treasure and we feel very lucky to have found them. They use all 2x6 framing which means we have great insulation in this house and our heating/cooling bills are so low. Their finish carpentry around the windows and doors is beautiful and sets this builder apart from the other builders in town. We have a large fully wooded lot that a lot of builders would have been nervous about. America's Home Place is experienced enough to handle any kind of land issue you have. Also, the timing of this project was amazing. We were building post-pandemic and we were concerned that our house would take a long time to build due to supply chain issues. America's Home Place surprised us and stayed on schedule. Our house was completed 6 months after they dug the basement. Many of our friends who were building were waiting for over 18 months for their houses. Sean, our project manager kept crews working on our house every single day. He truly is a miracle worker and is the best building manager I've ever seen. Greg, our sales manager helped us make decisions in the house and as a result we have a beautiful fireplace that I'm so proud of. I cannot say enough good things about this company. They are so trustworthy and talented. If you're thinking about using them, do it!

We worked with Greg to pick out the details of our home. He is knowledgeable, honest, and made the process enjoyable. Taylor took over our project after our initial project manager left the company. Taylor was awesome, and we were thankful he took over the project. He is a great communicator and kept us up-to-date on the progress of our home. Couldn’t ask for more in a contractor. Betsy helped behind the scenes with permitting and other details. She was also a great communicator and worked very efficiently. AHP works collaboratively and efficiently as a team, which is helpful to all involved. Our house only took 162 days to build from dig to move in and it was completed with quality. Our home is beautiful and we could not have asked for anything more. For the reasons listed above plus many others, my husband and I would highly recommend America’s Home Place to anyone looking for a custom, well constructed home.

We started looking at home a couple years ago. We visited numerous builders and looked at models that fit our lifestyle. Most builders in our area gave us a lead time of 14 to 18 months, then we visited America's Home Place. Greg gave us a tour, went over different models , pointed us towards similar models to go walk through and gave us a lead time of around 8 months! Needless to say I was skeptical. We picked out our home with options in October, the foundation was dug on December 17th and we moved in on June 1st. Lovely home, great experience, the staff was always available to talk and help with any questions .

AMERICA'S HOME PLACE in Sunbury, Ohio is AWESOME!

We began our dream of building a new home on our property 9 years ago but decided to hold off until county water was placed down our street. As we anxiously awaited this event we started gathering ideas for our future home. Then, we received word in the spring of 2022 that finally water would be run down our street. Now, we began our hunt for the right builder for our dream home.

We spoke with and met with more than 6 builders overall. We explained our vision, came to a quick reality check on wants vs needs and discussed builder floorplans. Unfortunately the builders we met with say they are custom, allowing you to make changes, but truly are not. These builders do not want you to deviate from their original floorplans. These builders cannot provide you with any type of cost estimate to give you an idea nor can their sales people measure walls, square footage etc accurately to address any changes you'd like done on their floorplans.

Thank goodness I am a pack rat and went back to my original file of builder information from 9 years ago. I told my husband " I have one more builder that I think we should check out. I found their information from my original file and I had already called and spoke with Lisa Burson who provided such great information regarding the homes they build ". She even sent me several floorplans she thought might meet our needs along with the builder list of what's included priorto the appointment. My husband responded that I need to clean out my files more often and agreed to the appointment I had set with Greg Szott.

Greg Szott knocked it out of the park on our first appointment. He listened to what we needed. We discussed the floorplans they had and then began meshing our desires with the floorplans. Greg was quick, concise and KNOWS what he's doing! He was able to accurately measure out changes we wanted and give us a better estimate of costs (we knew their would be additional costs with upgrades etc that hadn't been chosen yet). NO other builder sales person could make any alterations like he did nor did they even attempt to give any possible pricing. All we had wanted was a starting point and NO ONE BUT GREG would do it. Lisa's help to get us started and Greg's experience to get us what we needed with no delay and the superior product shown to be used in their homes sold us! Greg is by far superior to any other builder representative that we spoke with and his experience and knowledge by far blowsawaythe competition!

Greg made the initial process so easy to understand. He was so extremely helpful from layout to picking out all the finishes. The layout was a huge concern of ours and we spent a lot of time with Greg going over all possible options, and he never once made us feel rushed.

Damon was extremely helpful in all finalizing parts and making sure all of our questions were answers. He was super knowledgeable and has a plethora of experience that really made us feel like we were going to be taken care of.

Our construction manager, Tim, was easy to reach and always willing to meet with us over any concerns or questions that we had. He was helpful and very prompt even after we closed on the house. We had some very minor issues after we moved in and Tim made sure that the proper people were contacted and that whatever team needed to be there, was there as soon as possible.

All of the subcontractors that were used by America's Home Place were kind, courteous and very skilled. They were always willing to take the time to talk to us when we stop by to check on progress.

Betsy was beyond helpful through the whole process making sure that everything stuck to the timeline to get us into our new home. She was prompt, and professional. She is definitely someone who gets things done.

We couldn't love our home more. The finished product is beyond anything we could have imagined. We are so grateful to the entire team and all of the hard work that they put in. Our intention was to build a forever home, and with their help- we definitely did.
