American solar installed a ground mounted 12 KW solar system on my property about in 2009. My average annual APS bill is about $20 per month, the first 2 or 3 months I have no bill due to energy credits. I have had no problems with the system. However, I had inverter issues, all was covered under warranty and there was no cost to me. I believe I have recovered the cost due to the decrease on my utility bill. I have a 5 ton AC unit, my home is all electric, I have a pool, and large hot tub (which is always hot), 2 large freezers, and 2 refrigerators. I recommend owning a American Solar solar system.

The roofing team were quickly scheduled to examine the roof, they got here on time and were thorough, kind, courteous, helpful. AS I EXPECTED. THE AMERICAN SOLAR ROOFING WAS PERFECT almost two years after it was installed. American Solar is own and run by people who deliver their products in a timely fashion and with expertises. We've had American Solar install solar panels here twice and love them. The last time we had them re-do our roof and add panels. WONDERFUL work. I highly recommend them.

Nate did a thurough inspectipn on my solar system. He clearly explained what he was testing for and answered all my questions. He even pointed out a broken tile on my roof when checking the panels. Great service.

American Solar and Roofing came out and installed 12 solar panels on our roof. Miguel and Orlin were the installers and did a FanTasTic job providing that I had stone coated steel shingles on my roof which made it more challenging but not impossible. We were working with 3 entities, SRP, City of Tempe, and American Solar. It took some time to get it all done but they did work together and accomplished getting the solar working as it should. Jose did a FanTasTic job as the project manager. He went above and beyond to ensure that everything was done in a timely manner. As of right now my solar panels are working at 100% and providing a good amount of electricity to make my bill much less. Mary Anne also did a FanTasTic job with the billing and helped by providing updated information on the installation. App has been downloaded so we can see everything happening in real time. Both the green light and the blue light are on so we're up and running at full capacity.

I was glad American Solar was still in business 16 years after installing our solar electric system. The parts had lasted much longer than expected, but we had to replace inverter.. While costly, my electric bill is $200 less per month with solar so the new inverter will be paid off in under 2 years.
Shaun C, the technician was very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. He gave me clear instructions, made sure the app was working on my phone, even kindly advised me of some roof damage from wind (which I actually already have roofers coming to repair).

Had Nate on service call for inverter. Everything tsken care of and he was very professionsl snd explsined everything to me for reset.

American Solar and Roofing replaced an underlayment section and rebuilt the existing solar racks. The result looks robust and we feel much more confident for this summer's haboobs.

I was contacted by American Solar and Roofing because my solar system is 15 years old. The inverters have a 10-12 year life at peak production. They noticed that my production had dropped off to only 70% and called me to offer a discount to replace my inverters. Shaun C. came to my house and expertly installed my two inverters on my system. He walked me through registration and downloading the app. He made sure I understood how the app worked and how to operate the system. He was very patient with me as I asked a lot of questions. I’m now happy that my system is back to processing at 100%.

Our experience with American Solar & Roofing has been great. Our solar recently had not been generating as much power as before, so we had them come out for a system inspection. The panels were in good shape, but the inverter was quite old and needed to be replaced. The technician Shaun C. did a great job on both the inspection and the installation of the new inverter. Now it’s making more power than we have seen in the past four years.

I also like that our new inverter can be monitored from an app on my smartphone

American Solar and roofing replaced our roof and installed new solar panels. The crews doing the work were efficient and professional. Everything was completed in 10 days. The roofing crew thoroughly cleaned up the property each day which included blowing the small particles and hosing down the patio. I was very impressed with the company and Ben, the supervisor. The new panels are twice as efficient. I would definitely recommend them.

Shaun C was very dilligent in inspecting the inverter and it's connections to the solar panels finding and fixing several "pinched" wires which caused my inverter "ground fault" malfunction. Shaun C. was very professional, kind and polite. After his inspection he told me what he did a d what his findings were and what he was going to put in his inspection report. He was very knowledgeable and wanted to make sure I understood what he told me.

I contacted American Solar & Roofing regarding past work that had been done for an elderly friend. Fortunately I was helped by Aries who was not only knowledgeable but also patient and thorough in his explanations. I have scheduled an inspection of the solar system and am hoping to receive the same customer service that I experienced with Aries.

American Solar & Roofing came out to see why my solar was not producing. Manny H was the teck that came out and was very helpful and was able to determine the problem. The inverter was not working and he called and it was still in warranty. He ordered the part and it will be delivered next week. He also inspected the panels and found two broken tiles on the roof and replaced them.

Manny was great tech. Took his time for detailed inspection about a month ago and when he came out to install the new inverter went that extra mile to make sure it was all correct

… absolutely everyone at American Solar were so friendly especially Jose and Mary Anne…… and they kept me updated every step of the way …ultimately Solar installation is complex… but for me , it was simple from start to finish…and totally without any hassle or stress… American Solar is a real company that you can be assured you will be happy with final result…

We had been considering solar for a long time for a number of reasons. This company did our neighbor’s house and referred us. We didn’t really shop around, and that’s on us. With that being said, two months beyond install, they have not fulfilled their end of the bargain and I would not recommend this company to anyone in Florida considering going solar.

We were quoted a two day install; it took 8 days. I had to reschedule multiple appointments and meetings due to constant delays and having to be available to the install crew. We were lied to repeatedly about the reasons for this. Several times when I went to the garage to check in with the crew I found them either sitting on the floor or using our personal items without asking.

The company they partner with that delivered the panels showed up four days early and nearly banged the door down while I was in a work meeting, scared me and the dog half the death, tried to leave the panels in the middle of the street behind the house until I told them to leave.

Lastly, we were guaranteed repair of our soffit as part of this deal. They have ignored us and put us off for two months. Texts and calls are met with silence. I can only assume we have been ghosted since they have our money and no longer care.

I wish we had gotten other quotes or shopped around. If you’re thinking about this company, you definitely should.

The whole process went smoothly through installation and commissioning. Would recommend them. Jose did a great job keeping me informed all the way.

What a horrible experience I had with American Solar.

We opened our mail one day only to find that our electric bill had quadrupled. Trico indicated that our solar system was no longer generating electricity. I called American Solar since they were the installing company and scheduled a service tech to come and troubleshoot the issue at a cost of $495.00. The tech identified three panels that caused the system to fail. He bypassed the panels and restored some generating capability.

American Solar refused to stand by the product stating they only offer a one-year installation warrantee and that I had to contact the manufacturer. They further stated that the panels I had installed 8 years ago are no longer made and I would have to replace all 24 panels at a cost of over $20,000.00. So much for a 25-year warrantee.

I then contacted Hyundai, the manufacturer and found that indeed, the panels I have are no longer manufacture but they were able to replace the failed panels with newer panels that were compatible with the remainder of the panels installed. American solar quoted $1,995.00. to install the three panels. Hyundai requested I furnish the serial numbers for the failed panels and American solar quoted $600.00 additional to provide those serial numbers to me.

Hyundai was understanding and sent the three replacement panels on my word that I would provide the serial numbers and photos of the panels once they were replaced. I then started looking for an alternative.

The Solar Store came to the rescue. They reinstated my faith in businesses that have the customer's best interest in mind. They were responsive, efficient, and a pleasure to deal with. Jeff and Navaugh arrived on time, located the failed panels, and replaced them in less than three hours for only $500.00. Once the "Failed Panels" were on the ground, the Solar Store Tech tested them to find that they were fine.

This process took three months to resolve with little if any assistance from American Solar. It is obvious that American Solar was trying to force me into purchasing something that was unnecessary in order to generate revenue for themselves and didn't care about the consumer generating electricity at all.

Avoid that company at all costs!

We were having problems with our inverter. We had just returned home from a 2 week vacation and there was no power to our inverter. Their technician Manny came out and found there was a loose wire to the inverter. Manny connected the loose wire, checked all the other wires and then inspected the entire system. He rebooted the inverter and everything worked fine. It has been 10 days since his visit and there have been no problems. Manny did a great job.

Manny serviced our solar inverter, not just diagnosing our problem, but gave an all over check up since our installation was 8 years old. He explained everything clearly. Great job and very knowledgeable.

American Solar & Roofing replaced my roof replaced AND installed my solar panels!! Everything looks fantastic, operates the way they should. The on site and office teams were amazing. Excellent communication throughout the whole process! I would definitely go back for future roofing and solar projects.

The install crew from American Solar and Roofing showed up at their appointment time, were highly professional and personal and did a great job of installing my additional solar panels. Prior to their departure the installation team cleaned up the worksite, leaving it cleaner than it was when they arrived.

Following their departure Jose called and then stopped by on schedule for his appointment to check the electronics, explain operation of the system, and help me get the monitoring application installed and running on my phone. Jose was also very professional and personal

The entire experience was seamless, and I could not have asked for better service .

From the moment we called and spoke to Sean we felt he understood our needs. Their technician was sent out to survey our roof. The following Friday Sean came out to let us know their findings. We were very please and of course authorized the work to be done. The project was scheduled. We received notification when Jose’s team was going to be here. Upon arrival we were informed what the process would be. We found there was definitely an open line of communication. Once the team completed the resealing they cleaned up the debris. We would definitely recommend American Solar & Roofing.

Great experience start to finish. Great job from initial contact made to a review of my property to a zoom call as I was out of state at the time. The co owner gave me 2 hours of his time to review findings, discuss possibilities, and answer questions. I felt valued and appreciated as a customer start to finish. Phase 1 of our roof is all we did for now but the install crew was on time and did a great job. I look forward to working with this company now for years to come.

Update: 2024 we have now had roofing sections redone by this company as well as a 20.3kWh residential solar system installed. I cannot say enough good things about this company. The administrative staff worked so hard from start to finish, designing, permitting, filing with our HOA, etc they made the process extremely easy for us. The system designed is optimized for our property, no gamesmanship trying to sell more than is needed. They truly care about us having the best solar system. When we hit some bumps in the road with our HOA they stood by us and fought for us above and beyond what anyone might expect. The foreman and installers communicated well and were trustworthy, reliable, and cleaned up well. The system looks great and is now fully operational. If you want a locally owned and operated company that wrote the book on solar in arizona, stands by its product, and will honestly design the beat system for you than look no further than American Solar and Roofing!
