My brother had a leak in his yard. Between the meter and house which was about 125 feet. Nick came out. Very professional and smart young man. Very personable as well. He turned on the water from the meter and checked inside for leaks. Finding none, he pressurized the line with nitrogen. Then got out his sonar equipment (my words), headphones and probe. Found the leak fairly quickly. Spray painted a box with "X" in the middle and blue flag to show the plumbers where to dig. Great work from a great guy. Alabama Leak Detection WILL find the leak!

I feel taken advantage of. Make sure you KNOW what you're paying for. I had been lead to believe after discussing on the phone with them that they'd be able to test for any leaks behind the drywall on new construction, which was my primary concern, but *only* a water pressure test was done on the water lines, which was not what I needed done as they had already been pressure tested when installed.

When they got here, I was told that they couldn't test for any drainage leaks, which seems odd given that this is a leak detection company. The guy that ran the pressure test was really nice in person so I feel bad leaving a negative review, but I do feel like I wasted $499. A regular home inspector was able to find problems using a thermal imaging device when these guys couldn't. This is a LEAK DETECTION company and they couldn't do what a regular home inspector could do? I feel entirely scammed.

I called to explain my situation a few days ago and they said they'd escalate it to see if they could help me out, but of course I've never been contacted back.

The kitchen leak in the crawlspace was already known by us as it is immediately to the right of the crawlspace entrance and thus easy to find — we actually have timestamped documentation of it prior to you guys coming. My focus was always on what was going on behind the walls. I was fully under the impression that there'd be thorough testing on all of the plumbing.

Also a note, looking at my call logs and voice mails I am not seeing where someone attempted to reach me.

I would have never found this leak. It was under a large patio area and there were no signs of water. The technician found it in about 30 minutes. Very professional and courteous.

I don’t know how, but Chad found my leak. Right on the spot. Saved a big plumbers bill for them to have to dig all day.

The technician came on time and kept me informed of his procedure and progress of finding the leak under the slab. He marked it clearly for the plumber. The leak was precisely where he indicated.

Jeff Matz came to our home he is very professional and knowledgeable. He located our first leak outside in the front of our house. I had thought it was in our driveway, but it was not. We had that leak repaired last Friday and by Sunday night we had low water pressure. We thought the repair had burst due to the cold weather. And in the morning, we looked outside and found we may have more leaks. We called and they scheduled Jeff Matz to come out to locate the leak. He identified two potential leaks.

American Leak Detection quickly pinpointed a water leak under our parking lot so that it could be fixed. Amazing technology.

Everyone I asked recommended them so definitely the best in the area. But I think it’s highway robbery to charge $450 for something that took less than 10min.

Notified by utility that my meter was running continuously. I estimated about 0.2 gpm. John came and double checked that the leak wasn't in the house. He scanned the front yard and marked the spot where the leak was in less than an hour. I was skeptical, but I dug down about 18 inches and saw water. The leak was a crack in the pvc right below the X on the yard. Thanks ALD and John.

Very friendly, arrived on time, and fixed my pool liner leak even with water temperature being a bone chilling 38*F and air temps in the 20s!!! I am very happy that I didn’t have to wait all winter to have the leak repaired. I would use American Leak Detection again for my pool or any other leak around my house. I almost forgot….they also showed me where my leak for the pool slide piping is under the concrete deck slab.

American Leak Detection was on time; the technician explained in detail what he was doing; he determined very quickly where the leak in my main waterline was!

He came. He found the leak in our yard. Dug a bit to be sure. Marked the proper area and left. Overall a very positive experience that enabled us to fix the leak.

American Leak Detection performed an electronic leak detection at my home to find a water leak. The technician was very professional and efficient and found the leak in a very short amount of time. The detection location was exactly where the underground leak was found. I would definitely recommend these guys for finding leaks.

A terrible experience with a shady company and poor business practices. The technician came to my house and did not perform the steps as I agreed with Tammy . The technician came and I was charged 399 dollars for 15 minutes of time . And he did NOT find the cause for a quadruple water bill and did nothing of what he was supposed to do using Helium gas and sonar to find where the leak is and then insisted of charging me 399 dollars . and I am going to complain to the better business bureau and attorney general consumer protection agency. I asked for the owner to call me but he NEVER did . Stay away from American leak detection company . Worst customer service and extremely gouging prices and very poor work ethics and very poor repair work performance
Also I am going to file a law suit in small claims court against American leak detection company.

Don't use them. paid $499 for them to come out on October 8th. Said they couldn't find the leak in my pool. Had to pay another company that instantly found three small leaks in the liner. Tried to call American Leak detection and spoke to someone there named Tammy said she would speak to her boss after I asked for a refund. Didn't get a call back. Save yourself the Trouble and 500 bucks, use someone else.

Very professional and knew exactly was needed and how to find my irrigation leak. Their prices are pretty high but they do give military and senior discounts.

These guys are amazing!!! We have had a leak the past few month that has caused our water bill to go sky high 4-5X. Our water line runs about 150-200 yards thru the woods from the meter. There were no signs of water on the ground, the plumbers said there were no leaks at the house so we called American Leak Detection. Theo came out and found the leak in about an hour. When I say found the leak I mean this man marked it and after he left I dug about 20 mins and boom there it was! Just awesome!!! Thank you so much. These guys are on point!!!

I am very satisfied with the outcome and the customer service.

Upon advice from the plumber, we reached out to American Leak Detection - had a leak in the main line which is about a 300 ft run.

The tech came out, located, and marked the spot. I dug (and dug and dug) locating the pipe but no leak. After consulting the plumber, we reached back to ALD, and they gladly came back out (no questions asked). The marked the spot about 1.5 ft from the original spot. I must admit it was initially frustrating because digging the hole was not easy.

After some exploring the leak ended up being about 4 inches from the original spot. So, being completely fair, they were actually pretty darn close from the start.

Don't get me wrong, I hope to never need them again. If I have a leak, however, they will be my first call.

We had a leak. We knew it was in the lines going to our outbuildings but we could not find it. American Leak Detection was recommended by a plumber who was doing work at our church. They came within a few days and found the leak right away. We never would have found it because the water was somehow flowing underground instead of making a wet area at the surface. Highly recommend.

John and Dennis worked 10 hrs straight to resolve pool leak problem - this included using a jackhammer to get to the broken pipe leak 3-4 feet down below the inches of concrete. They worked hard all day. It gave me hope for the next generation's work ethic. Good job American Leak Detection !

Representative came out to place an insert tube in outlet to repair a leak. Was unable to to replace. He repeated a putty fix which was there already and charged for the service. So I have what was there before he came. Can not tell yet if if the new putty will stop the leak. Representative did not seem qualified to do the work. Do not want this representative again. His attitude was not professional.

Excellent job! Was quick and sufficient. In the event I have another leak I will not waste my time on local people and go straight to the experts.

Jeff Matz came out and located the leak. We had the plumber come out and it was right where he located. This leak was under the slab and Jeff showed me his equipment and explained the process. I am grateful to him for being so knowledgeable and nice. I will recommend American Leak Detection to anyone.

Finding an underground water leak in Alabama red clay, is a pain. Double that if you're paying $350/Hour for someone to dig it up. ALD found my leak, and my plumber had me up and running before the end of the day. DONE

Nick, the service tech, was great in all respects. I couldn't have asked anyone to do a better job.

You’re dealing with some sort of leak. You’ve done everything you can to find it yourself, and you need someone with the expertise to pinpoint the source of your problem without destroying your property. You’ve come to the right place. I was reluctant to call them because it feels like an expensive service call. But I wound up wishing I had called them sooner. The guy came out and quickly diagnosed the issues with our pool, provided a temporary fix, and gave his recommendations on what to do next.

High praise for this company's service! I had a significant swimming pool leak and there were no obvious signs of where the leak might be. I expected to find water bubbling up or a wet place where a broken pipe could be - but there were no clues about the source of the leak. So, the SONAR technology of American Leak Detection needed to be called. Their very affable technician, Dakota, arrived at the appointed time, looked over the area and spotted the source of the leak after a few minutes of visually inspecting the pool area. The problem was deteriorated grout inside one of the skimmers that allowed pool water to escape behind the gunite pool wall. Dakota's experience was most obvious in finding the leak so quickly. He had the materials to repair the leak and did so on the spot. He also did a thorough inspection of the remainder of my pool system utilizing the SONAR equipment and found no other problems. So, if you have a pool leak, don't delay in seeking the help of American Leak Detection - you might not have a major problem and they will tell you if that's the case. Thanks ALD and Dakota!
