Everything Aloha did for us was done completely and professionally. All through the project everything was explained with easy explanations.

Aloha impressed. I needed a home renovation and contacted Jessica from Aloha. Her truthfulness and understanding of the project impressed me. She spent a few hours walking around my home, taking detailed notes and plans. She expressed options that would help keep my budget on track, along with expressing concerns I had overlooked. I had the utmost confidence in Jessica and would recommend her 10 out of 10 times.

Our home suffered water damage through 3 levels when a pipe burst in our master bedroom and water flowed all the way down to the basement Rec Room. I contacted Aloha as I had heard their ads on WSCR 670 am. They came out immediately to assess my situation and within 24 hours they started the process of water removal from my home and assessing the damage that would need repair. They prepared the estimate so I could submit it to my insurance carrier ( State Farm ) and it was comprehensive and reasonable. The crew that they assigned to me was fantastic. They were on time everyday, cleaned up at the end of each day (we were still residing in the home during the work) and made sure I understood everything that was being done. When you're dealing with 3 levels of water damage it can be overwhelming, but Aloha made the process about as painless as can be and the workmanship was top notch. The work was completed when promised and I've had no issues. If you find yourself in need of home repairs or water damage cleanup, Aloha is the call that you need to make.

This is our honest assessment of Aloha Restoration as there were some good things we liked about Aloha, they "kinda" stood behind their services, but there were some rather unfortunate incidents that happened that really shouldn't have.

A quick summary for those who want bullet points, we would NOT recommend Aloha. We hired Aloha in 2022 to do a Master Bed/Bathroom remodel. About 3-4 months after completion, we found mold on our 1st floor ceiling, below the shower that Aloha built. They had to completely redo the shower as they did not properly seal the shower basin. The rebuild took 5 months to complete (longer than the original build) and their quality and attention to detail on the rebuild was less than stellar. They honored their warranty which is great, but we were left with a less quality finish (poor tile and grout work) in the end.

We were looking for a company to do a full bathroom and partial Master Bedroom remodel in the spring of 2022. What led to our decision to choose Aloha was that they were VERY detailed about what would be their responsibility under the proposal, what our responsibility was, and their pricing was competitive (not the cheapest, not the most expensive). Example would be, their bid stated we would be required to buy the Toilet, but the bid included the installation of the toilet. We were able to budget our remodel and didn’t have any worries that we didn’t have everything accounted for. We signed contracts and paid the required deposit in Aug of 2022 with an understanding they would start in 6-8 weeks… After countless calls and e-mails, construction did not start until the end of November.

The process was slow and hindered by the fact we were an hour away from their shop. They required their employees to start their day at 8am in their office, meaning on average we didn’t see them until 9-9:30am. They would then have to start cleaning up around 3:00pm so they could be back at their shop by 4:30. An average workday was about 4 – 4 ½ (after breaks and lunch were factored in) so not a lot was accomplished on a daily basis.

During our initial remodel there was NO Project Manager or Lead who was responsible for making sure everything was being built as it should. Had there been, it’s quite possible they would have caught the person water-proofing the shower using Drywall Tape to seal the edges and corners. All four corners leaked including the entire area around the step in and why the entire show had to be ripped back down to the studs and built again. Many walls were not built level or plumb, especially in our walk-in closet. We had California Closets installed (not by Aloha) and not having level walls made it challenging and it accentuates the bad construction done by Aloha.

So this leads us to the warranty repair. Shower was FULLY rebuilt (torn back down to the studs and subfloor) but when it came to tiling, tiles were not installed flush, there were many chipped and damaged tiles, the Schluter was initially installed wrong (leading to tiles having to be removed and reinstalled) and instead of using a stool or lift, the initial tiller literally eyeballed things that were above his head so the tiled walls were not level at the top. Aloha DID bring in another tiller and made many of the requested repairs, but we were also told on more than one occasion that they weren’t going to fix things that they installed incorrectly “because they have already been out here way to long”. They didn’t use the grout we provided and used previously on the first install (because it wasn’t something the tiller wasn’t familiar with) and we were left with streaking, uneven colored grout. Aloha used a “grout stain” to get uniformity, but a year later, it’s wearing off and we have streaks again.

NOTE: if you hire Aloha to get work done in the winter, you will not be their priority when they get calls due to busted water lines. They would rather chase the insurance company check than finish their contracted job on time. Our job was put on hold MULTIPLE times in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

One of the managers Jessica was extremely helpful. Great service

I often felt like I didn’t get the best service with other restoration services over the years.

However; when I spoke to Jessica and she helped it was a night and day difference.

I will always go to her now.

We called Aloha when a pipe burst in our condo building which resulted in water damage to our home. They responded extremely quickly, were very knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. Their crew was very polite, which we appreciated. They placed dehumidifiers and air movers for us, and then completed the tear-out of drywall, carpet, padding, trim, etc. Their quick and thorough response helped to ensure that our home was mold-free. They were our recommendation when someone we know recently needed remediation services. I would definitely recommend them if you wind up with water damage in your home.

Recently a couple of young men appeared at my door asking to inspect my roof for Hail damage from a storm back in June. While I don't recall any significant damaging storm, they insisted my neighborhood has been deemed a catastrophy area due to said storm. They proceeded to inspect my roof initially with an employee who had been with the company NEW AMERICAN HOME IMPROVEMENT out of Mchenry for about two months. The new employee completed his inspection and indicated that the roof had very minimal damage. Then the other man who was training the new employee went onto the roof and discovered more damage and wanted me to sign up today for a new roof which he insisted would be paid for by my insurance company. He also stated that I should not contact my insurance company as his company employs a Public Adjuster and the adjuster would handle all correspondence with insurance company. When I told him that I would seek a second opinion from Aloha construction who replaced my roof back in 2015 due to severe storm damage from April 9th storm that year,he said not to deal with any company that does not have a public adjuster as my claim would not be approved without the help of a Public Adjuster. Needless to say I was seeing red flags,so I called Aloha to come out and inspect my roof. The following day Jeff ( a 13 year Aloha employee) came out and inspected my roof and concluded that my roof was in very good condition and that all of the chalk marks made by the men from the previous day were in fact a non issue. I have been very happy with the work and service Aloha provided me in 2015 and they came back a couple of years later to resecure an electrical box on the outside of my garage that had become loose, at no charge. Moral of this epic tale is that Aloha Construction did right by me. Jeff could have gone up on the roof and told me that there was indeed damage in order to sell me a new roof that I do not need. The honesty and integrity that Jeff exhibited is a direct reflection of how Aloha Construction operates. Cudos to Jeff and Aloha for their upstanding and outstanding service. Aloha will be my go to for future home repairs that I may need. Rick Zeoli of Mchenry

Helpful and communicative. As first time home buyers needing a whole new roof replacement due to hail damage, they walked us through the damage, process, helped us work with our insurance, and got the job done quickly. When we had a question a year later, they came out for a free inspection and helped us answer any questions.

I worked with Anthony to design our basement. We had water damage and decided to upgrade our basement. Not only did they provide us a design and layout, but provided the best service for our project. They left the job site clean, organized, and set all expectations for every part of the project. I highly recommend Aloha for all your remodeling needs.

When our home experienced a shocking and unexpected flood we didn't know what to do. Calling Aloha was the right answer for our family. They came out to our home within a few hours, and they brought everything that we needed to start working right away to help remove all the damage that occured in our basement. Having our home damaged was a hard experience, but they made it so much easier for us to get everything done and taken care of. Yes our stuff that got ruined was lost and they couldn't return that, but they did give us back a peace of mind that our home was safe and functional again. The best part was how quickly they got to work. Everyone who came and was involved in the project was very professional and very polite. We found this experience to be just what we needed and wanted. We hope we don't need to call again, but if we do we will.

Transformed our dungeon of a basement into an awesome living, workout and office space. We’re on time, professional and significantly better priced compared to other contractors. Adrian and Jessica did a great job taking care of us through the process.

Horrible company to deal with. Would give zero stars if I could.
Our basement flooded and we called Aloha Restoration since they were local. John C(Salesman) came to our house that day and discussed the work to be done to remediate the issue. We were given a scope of work along with a verbal estimate of pricing (3-4K). We filed an insurance claim so we paid Aloha our deductible and John assured us that was all we were going to pay since insurance would handle the rest. We felt comfortable with the pricing since we were in a bind so we agreed to the work. Work was completed in a timely matter. I didn't hear anything for awhile so we contacted John who said he was still working w/our insurance company. Our insurance company contacted us and stated that they were cutting us the check and not Aloha and that we should try and negotiate the pricing. Uh oh. Red flag. A few days later we received an invoice from John that was $5,500! I talked to John and asked why the invoice was so high and he said that's what it costs even though his estimate was between $3-4,000. I come to find out that that price didn't even include the drywall replacement that was written and agreed on the scope of work. All the sudden, that is extra. I reviewed the invoice and found that they had billed us for a lot of work that wasn't even done in our basement. I talked to John's manager, Jessica regarding the falsified invoice and she said she would look into it and get back to me in 2 days. 3 weeks later, John sends us an updated invoice with that work that was "completed" removed. However, in reviewing the invoice again, they didn't remove all of it. So I contacted John again and called him out on it. He reluctantly removed it and again sent an updated invoice and offered to come to the house and pick up a check. Invoice was still way higher than discussed so I talked to Jessica again about the invoice and the whole experience with Aloha and more specifically John who was very misleading in everything he promised us. She said there was nothing she could do because its a computer program and that John was reprimanded. In other words, she could care less. She then stated that she could personally come to our house and pick up the check! I have never dealt with any company that was so eager to get paid that they wanted to come to my house! Very suspicious. They didn't send us the invoice for weeks and now its a rush to pay them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. They will rip you off!

Today I was walking through the Whole Foods parking lot in Kildeer and some blonde broad nearly hit me flying through the parking lot after blowing a stop sign. She was driving a black suv with your decals all over it.

I suggest if your driving a company vehicle or any vehicle, you should not drive like an oblivious a-hole, risking the safety of others.

I contacted Aloha for mold removal and restoration. At first, they were very responsive and sent Nick out right away. However, Nick said that he would send me the estimate in 1-2 days and a referral to permaseal. I had to reach out to him to find out about his permaseal referral because there was no follow up. Fast forward a few days, I had still not heard anything from Nick so I reached out to him again. He said that I would have the estimate the next day. Two days passed, I already contracted with permaseal and I reached out again. Nick said that he had just talked to George from permaseal and he was going to set up the estimate to take into account the removal permaseal was already doing and I would have the quote the next day. The quote never came and permseal has already come out, so that excuse was pointless. I have not heard from Nick and I am extremely disappointed to have been led on for so long. If my business was not wanted, you should not have wasted my time.

We used Aloha this past year after a sewer line backup. They were amazing. They were onsite within 90 minutes with a team to clean up, which allowed us to stay in our house. They did a great job managing the insurance company throughout the process and ensuring we got the most out of our policy. Finally, they repaired the damages expertly, and they were very professional. Our primary contact, Jessica, was a fantastic communicator and was always on top of all the details. Highly recommend.

We had an issue which was causing water from our shower to go down into the ceiling of the neighbor’s below our unit. We called Aloha to come and assist with getting that problem resolved. They were quick to respond and came out the next day. They had to remove the ceiling above the neighbor’s shower to determine where exactly the water was coming from. During the initial consultation we were assured that they had plumbers which worked with them and would be able to get the situation resolved once the issues were identified. Because we hadn’t contacted our insurance provider yet, I wanted to get an idea of what the cost would be for the minimal amount of work that would be done. I was assured if it was just a matter of removing and replacing the ceiling and using their fans/mold remediation machines without insurance, it would be about $700 on the high end. It was explained further that if the insurance was involved, they would be sure to charge as much as they could in order to get as much profit from the job as they could. We were feeling pretty good about it until a few days later their plumber(s?) were too busy to get out to determine the source of the leak. They were able to give me the numbers of other plumbers so I could independently contact them and pay them to come out which I ended up doing. I was able to identify the source of the leak and get it repaired and ultimately contact Aloha to replace the neighbor’s ceiling and get everything completed without filing an insurance claim.

About a month later I received the bill from Aloha for over $1,100 and was surprised. I called to remind them of the conversation during the initial consultation and was told that there was nothing they could do about it as they were pretty much breaking even on the work that was performed. They said they could itemize the bill if that would help.

The work they performed - very satisfied
Their responsiveness at first- very satisfied
Responsiveness thru the process- dissatisfied
Value for the price paid- very dissatisfied

Day 1… Andrew introduced himself and Jacob with a warm smile as they approached my door. After inspecting the damage, Andrew gave me his best estimate on time needed to complete this phase. The men quickly got down to business securing everything that needed moving and applying protective coverings to any furniture that could not be removed. Andrew and Jacob were now busy, and at times, singing as they worked. Polite? OMG… YES. Their manners never wavered while they worked. After a long day 1, Andrew gave me an update stating that he thought they could complete the restoration sooner than anticipated. On the final day of interior work, every bit of furniture, tchotchkes, pictures and plants were returned to their exact homes. Andrew is one heck of a vacuumer. When all the repair materials were extracted from the house, salutations were exchanged. As I closed the door I couldn’t help but smile. The last phase of Aloha’s restoration work has been completed, just in time for the upcoming holidays. I turned and admired the flawless work. The repairs to my living room & garage ceilings gave the appearance of never having had any storm leakage damage. Once again… Aloha served up quality work with superior work ethics. To Glen, Andrew and Jacob… you can proudly take a bow. APPLAUSE ~ APPLAUSE ~ APPLAUSE ! ! !
Thank you Aloha!

This company is a storm chaser. Sales rep Ryan was one of the worst reps I have ever had he lied to my face he also had parts of my house with him for over 6 months and had to call his bosses boss and it was a nightmare. This company has so many red flags stay away.

Aloha Restration is witout a doubt a surberb company when it comes to
Home Restroation. First of all, they evaluate the project , listen to the needs of the home owner, & prepare a plan of action to restoring the area. They discuess the materials that will be used, the manner in which it will be completed, along with a time frame.
Their Cost estimates are fair, their workmenship is outstanding, and their
tradsesmen are very hard workers. The workers are cordial, respectful, & are very serious about the quality of the completed project.
I would reccommend Aloha Restroation to all my family & Friends.
They are Outstanding.

We were unfortunate enough to have a water supply line break and flood our downstairs. We were fortunate enough to have Glenn from Aloha Restoration Co. on the job. He was responsive and on top of the project the whole time. New room is beautiful. We hope to use Aloha again for a remodeling job in the future. Awesome group.
