HOME OWNERS BEWARE!!!
In January 2024 I had roof damage occur from a storm. I contacted All American Roofing and Restoration to start the insurance process. They wanted to get the whole roof covered plus some additional exterior items. I knew this would be a longer process and was ok with that. We got the roof covered but were still waiting to see if the additional items were going to get covered. 03/09/24 a Saturday, Tony comes to my work and picks up a $5000 deposit for the roof to secure roofing material so prices don’t increase. After a few months of no changes with insurance I let the owner Anthony “Tony” Childress know I would like to only move forward with having the roof done this was on 04/22/2024. He told me he would need to check with his office manager to see when we can get on the schedule. I contacted him a few days later (4/24/24) to see what he found out. He let me know it would be able to be completed the first or second weekend in May. He did not give me a solid date but I was satisfied with that update. 05/02/24 I reached out to Tony to see exactly what day they were planning on starting the work. He let me know he would have to follow up with the office and the crew. I did not receive anything back from him. I reached back out 05/06/24 to see if we were good for that weekend. No response. Tired calling and leaving voicemails with no return calls. 05/07/24 a Tuesday, he texts me back letting me know if the weather is good he will be out there. 05/10/24 Friday, I asked what time will he be arriving tomorrow. No response from Tony. 05/11/24 call and text him again to see what time he will be arriving that day. Weather was perfect, no response from Tony. Later that day I try calling Tony, he texts me “call you right back”. This is around 3pm. On this call he tells me he has a lot of personal things going on and I completely understand and was patient with him. Many days pass (05/11/24- 05/22/24) and I do not hear from him. Making me very nervous to what is going on. I call many times leaving voicemails and text messages. Asking for an update, what is going on, are you still able to get my roof done. I finally get ahold of him and he’s got excuse after excuse. On 05/23/24 I get a solid date out of him Tuesday the 28th of May and claims he will have the supply house drop off the material. Nothing shows up. Tuesday rolls and I asked him what time will he be arriving. He lets me know that he sees that is going to rain and is unsure if he will be able to start. Mind you the weather was perfect no rain in the forecast. I asked if we could do later in the week, no response. Thursday 05/30/24 I asked what will be the new date. He states he will call me in an hour or two. I wait patiently for a call. No call. I have not heard from him since and have been told by employees that they no longer work there due to not being paid and that he has stolen other clients money and has run out of town back to Ohio where he has another branch of this company. I have a signed contact and paid him a $5,000 deposit with a cashiers check. Do not do business with tAll American Roofing or Tony Childress. They are thieves.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
