The AHG team is the most communicative and caring construction company I have ever encountered. For most of the project, someone would visit the job site daily and, if not physically present, would be available via email or text. The entire group was meticulous in their attention to detail, respectful of my property and myself, and showed up on time. The entire project’s schedule was made available to me and they stuck by it. There were some additional contractors I brought in for specialty items like FlipClean Guttering systems and a new driveway and they worked with me to schedule those jobs in conjunction with their schedule. They often went above and beyond in accommodating requests and were very understanding of my concerns regarding my dog and property. I am very happy with how it all turned out. Every employee and sub contractor was friendly, respectful, talented in their respective fields, and professional. I am very grateful for their expertise and professionalism for this very challenging but worthwhile project.

We are so happy we chose AHG for our master bedroom addition! From the beginning to the end, they kept us informed of the schedule and communicated everything that was going on (and I loved the online tool). It was great seeing and working through all the drawings in the beginning, so we knew it would turn out just as we pictured. We also very much appreciated being able to tackle some of the work items on our own! We love our new space - would totally use again!

Brian and his team completed a primary room addition (w/ADA accessible bathroom) earlier this year. We enjoyed the experience so much that I'm submitting another request for a full bathroom remodel (literally today), with a kitchen remodel coming.

Let me tell you why I recommend them...(1) The upfront pricing made everything super transparent. We knew how much everything was going to cost before even starting the job and we understand changes to cost as the team found other issues (like plumbing updates) during the remodel. (2) Upfront scheduling kept the job moving as advertised. We could view the schedule a head of time and adjust our plans around what was coming up and have confidence that Brian and team were actually going to get that task completed. (3) Brian and his team are just wonderful humans. We were never talked down to, we were treated as equals in the process and we just really enjoyed every interaction. I've never said that about a contractor before. (4) Brian is meticulous (I wish I could bold this) - during framing day his entire job was validating the spacing, the placement, comparing back to the plans so that he can insure inspection passed quickly and that we were getting what was designed. During finishing touches he found every scrap, every bump, every little thing and marked it to be fixed before closing the job. And he was at the job site almost every day quality checking the progress along the way.

This addition that AHG Construction & Remodeling built is amazing! Basically a small job in terms of size, the challenges of the job were huge due to working within a very restrictive urban space, the condition of the structure, and the endless inspection requirements of the city along with challenges of the city codes. AHG took all the challenges in stride with a great team of men; incredible craftsmanship, wonderful design and excellent integrity. Sub contractors were all top notch and professional. What could have been a disaster was a great experience thanks to AHG! Thank you!!

We hired AHG to "fix" what our first contractor did incorrectly. They were very responsive and came out right away to give us an estimate. They made sure to ask questions and they understood the scope of work that we wanted.
When we started our project, everyone came out to introduce themselves. They were professional and very nice. They made sure to show us any problems that were found along the way and explain things to us so that we could make an informed decision.
The buildertrend app or website was amazing. We were able to log in and see the schedule a week in advance and know what was going to happen at our house each day. The workers were respectful of the space and made sure to keep the area neat and clean when they were done. The workers were able to communicate their needs and checked in before they left each day. I would definitely hire AHG again for any construction needs we have!

We used AHG to construct a new detached garage and music studio. They were very professional and responsive throughout the process, from initial quote through project completion. We’re very happy with the finished product, which came in on budget and just a few weeks later than scheduled. The work that AHG performs themselves is excellent and high quality, though some of the subcontractors left a bit to be desired. When they made mistakes, AHG was good about staying on top of the subs to come back out and fix things.

We had a complete kitchen remodel. From first contact to the end of project this company was pleasant to work with. It was the first time I had work done on the house that I had not one complaint. They met all there commitments through completion. The employees were polite and cleaned up every day after work. All charges were clearly stated and nothing was added without my approval. I would gladly work with this company again and have recommenced them to family and friends.

Brian and his team were fantastic from start to finish! The consultation process was thorough, and Brian was always available to answer practical and aesthetic questions. Once the work started, we were kept well-informed about what to expect each week and each day. He did a great job of setting expectations and building enough flexibility into the schedule at the beginning so that they stayed on schedule through the whole project. Worked with Brian to get a quote and was super impressed by his timeliness, expertise, and honestly about the project and the cost. I ended up postponing my kitchen remodel to be more comfortable with cash flow but will definitely have AHG do the work!!!

Brian and his team were outstanding. They renovated our kitchen and the quality of the work was great. Brian is very hands on and involved throughout, and above all, he is an outstanding communicator, which is rare among contractors. My wife and I are only one week into a major reno of our house. The AHG team has been amazing to work with! Seeing AHG's work first hand during an interview with their clients allowed us to see the quality they create. The addition looks like it was apart of the original home design. We also got a tour of the new detached garage that also matched to home perfectly. The clients loved every part of the remodel and are raving fans as well!

AHG did an A+ job renovating my bathroom at a small cape style house on Patterson Avenue. This is a rental property of mine. The upgraded bathroom increased the overall value of my property along with the rental price.

AHG did a phenomenal job taking a wall down for us! They were so nice to work with and professional. Every time I had a question they were there to help. Most of all they were clean like they were never there after each job which was important since we have kids running around. Thank you AHG Team! Four months later and we still love it!

Do not use these people. They'll essentially give you an affordable-sounding quote to get their foot in the door that they have no intention of adhering to. Then, when you try to question anything at all in terms of their "costs" once the project is completed, all the owner is going to tell you is that "the contract is cost + 20%" with no other real explanation of where his numbers come from. We have repeatedly asked him to simply sit down with us to better explain how his initial quote ended up being almost $10,000 less than the final price he is stating that we owe him, but as soon as we did, he immediately went on the defensive and deferred us to email communication from there on out. The few times he has responded to our email correspondence, he hasn't seemed at all interested in working this out with us as HIS CUSTOMERS and instead threatens legal action against us if we don't pay him within 30 days. Seems a bit impersonal to me when he claims to make every customer feel like his only customer. We certainly didn't feel that way the entirety of the time he was working with us. Our relatively small master bathroom remodel took the entirety of 3 months, which was at least double the amount of time he initially told us it should take. Buyer beware.

So glad we chose them to remodel our kitchen and bathroom. They did exactly what we wanted and made improvements on what was originally planned. They exceeded our expectations on everything. We were so pleased we asked them back for a few other jobs replacing exterior doors, rebuilding and painting our shed. We couldn’t be happier with the end results. Thanks again for earning our trust and business.

Brian Austin and his team performed a professional job of removing my outside porch steps and building back a staircase that consist of ten steps, four risers and the concrete footing to support the risers. His quote was on target and his workmanship was excellent.

We worked with AHG Construction & Remodeling for a substantial two-story addition to our home. (About 800 Sq ft. Sunroom, Laundry room and utility room downstairs, and gorgeous new master bathroom upstairs, plus renovation of the connected rooms/closets. Feb 2020-June 2020)

We have worked with contractors before but nothing on this level, so we were quite concerned with finding a provider who was capable of a large project. That narrowed the scope and we wound up speaking with 5 or 6 contractors over a 2 year period. AHG was the only company that we felt was capable of the project who ALSO had a balance of "vision" and communication. Several times we found contractors to be excited and with good ideas, but then they'd flake out and communication would break down. OR they would have good communication and the numbers/process all made sense, but the seemed to have no passion or creativity applied to the process.

AHG was different. They had "vision" and helped fine tune the discussion of whats possible, and "is there a better way do to this", but ALSO had fantastic communication. From the very start of getting estimates to the very end of finishing the punch list, we always were kept informed by the AHG team, and brought into discussions about any changes or adjustments that came up along the way. We got regular emails with schedules for the week keeping us informed about who would be in our house and when. The crews were clean and respectful, they we kind to our kids and took extra care to make sure the job site was safe when they left for the day.

The timeline and the budget were very much as expected, and the few things that weren't perfect were corrected without a fuss, sometimes without even involving us. An example, there was a color matching issue on exterior paint and I could see the crew discussing it after it dried. Frankly I didn't see an issue, but they weren't happy with the color match and, without any mention of it to us, they got a new batch of paint, and repainted that area. We didn't have to ask or anything, they wanted it to be right. Period.

All in all, it was a great experience and we are so happy with the extra space. We'll be calling again soon to knock out the kids bathroom! Thanks AHG! - Allen and Sarah

Brian Austin and his team remodeled our kitchen/living space, as well as managed the repair of a major water damage issue we had in another part of our home. Mr. Austin and his team are knowledgeable and consummate professionals. He is prompt to respond and honest and calming in light of any issues that may arise as they do with any project. I would not hesitate to hire him and his friendly and hard working crew again for any future projects. All I can say is get on his calendar fast before it fills up again.

We utilized Mr. Austin and his team to help repair a number of items that needed special attention in our home (Major drywall repairs, electrical additions and lighting upgrades). He was timely with his estimate, he and his team were top notch professionals paying special attention to every detail discussed throughout the process and they exceeded our expectations from a quality perspective. We couldn’t be happier with the final product. We will be calling them in the future for repairs and remodels as they arise.

I contacted AHG Construction and Remodeling to provide my wife and I with an estimate to get our kitchen remodeled. The owner (Brian Austin) came out to our home and provided us exactly what we were hoping for. However, after his initial visit, he failed to follow up with us as he said he would. I waited about three weeks and then gave him a call, but had to leave a message. I then sent him a text and he took several days to reply. Once he replied, he said that he was working on our drawings at the moment and we would receive them in a few days. That was over two months ago. Brian did not even extend the professional courtesy of a phone call or text to share with my wife and I why we had not heard back from him. It was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had since being a home owner for over 25 years. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. I'm thankful that we went with someone else because I would hate to have hired this company and been treated like this after they received my money. I'm giving a rating of one (1) because I cannot go any lower.

AHG Construction and Remodeling is a breath of fresh air in the home improvement business. We had them remodel our master bath and from start to finish Brian Austin (owner) and his crew met our every expectation. Communication throughout the project was clear and prompt, all work was done to our exact specifications, and the quality of the finished product is outstanding. We could not be more pleased with our experience with AHG. Today we had Brian back to give us a quote on our next project. We are looking forward to working with AHG well into the future.
