I called Advocate out to reroof my back porch, which was a small job. He gave me a quote of $2,700 which covered materials and flashing the facia etc. and let me know they would need to replace some of the plywood and that would be an additional $55 a sheet, so I did expect some overage. The roofers showed up on 5/2 and roofed the house. But didn’t complete the job (soffit and facia) and left scraps and sheet metal all over the yard and had obviously not run a magnet around the yard because I picked up a ton of nails, debris etc in the yard. I let Brian know on 5/5 and didn’t hear back, I contacted him again on 5/8 and was told Jose would show up on 5/10 to complete the facia. Jose was a no call no show. I had to reach out to Brian again to get the job done and they sent a couple guys out to finish the job on 5/12 but unfortunately they didn’t speak English and I don’t speak Spanish and they didn’t know what they were supposed to do so they left. Again, I had to contact Brian to reschedule. 5/24 they showed up and “completed” the job. Upon inspection of their work I found for the soffit, they went over the rotten wood which should have been removed, used white caulk on brown flashing, still hadn’t completed the flashing on the left side of the roof, didn’t secure some flashing, and again left debris all over the yard. So I called Brian again to let him know my findings and in the meantime he sent me a bill that was 57% higher ($4,250) than his original bid! He stopped by 5/26, for which I had to take a day off work to make sure he understood my concerns. The crew came back later that day to finish and rework the soffit and left. Upon inspection I still found some rotten wood where it should have been removed and again debris was everywhere. I talked to Brian again and let him know I was less than satisfied with the job and let him know I’d be leaving a review online to which I just an apology without an attempt to make it right. It’a very apparent him and the crew don’t have pride in their work or care about their customers. I paid him and I can say the only thing he did efficiently was cash my check. If you want a sub standard job and some apologies Brian is your man - otherwise go somewhere else.

The replaced missing metal facia perfectly match the existing facia. There was no evidence his crew was on my property doing roof repairs. Cleanup was very important to me. Brian and his crew did an excellent job last fall changing a screened-in porch into a three-season sunroom with casement windows, LP Smartside lap siding and stained-pine tongue and groove ceiling. They also installed LP trim and cedar siding around new windows (by others), installed new aluminum vented soffits, fascia and gutters (entire house), installed shake siding above the garage and replaced the roof. Brian was very helpful in helping us with our design and was responsive to any concerns we had. He also suggested ways we could save money which was helpful. Brian’s quote was easy to understand in that it offered a detailed breakdown of the costs for each aspect of the project.

got me a new roof. new roof fans to replace the existing. didnt hook up the existing fans but left them dangling with hot wires. You stated they would be hooked up before and after the sale, and before you left I asked if they were hooked up and you stated yes.You have not returned my calls or texts so your response is complete bogus.I do not recommend this business.

What's unexpected is they were able to remove the existing roof fans which worked fine, requiring electrical work to remove, sold me two new ones and claims they weren't installed and left live hot wires hanging because they aren't a licensed electrical. way to build trust!

Brian and his team were quick to respond after some of my shingles were ripped off in a storm. Upon investigating, our roof was covered by insurance. He worked with the insurance company to replace the roof. The work was done professionally and in a timely manner.

I would highly recommend Advocate Contracting! We hired them to reside our home - we chose stone for the front and vinyl siding for the rest. Not only were they the best price of all our estimates they were quick and efficient in their work. We had a few things along the way that needed to be addressed and Brian made sure everything was completed to our standard. Brian and his team are very professional and easy to work with. Great people working for this great company! Very friendly but professional and offered options and details about all the differences in roof types. We also needed a substantial amount of work done to remove some stone chimneys and they were able to get us help for that and still got those removed and roof done in one day! Also removed all materials and trash from old tiles in the same day. Still LOVE our roof and color we chose!

I have a fairly difficult 4 gable 12-12 pitch roof. If you don't know what that means it is a very steep roof. I had 2 layers of old roof removed and new installed. All the work was done without damage and clean up was excellent. I used to build houses as a general contractor and have a fair amount of experience with roofs. I know people who have done as good a job but none any
better. I strongly recommend Advocate Contracting

Brian Scott, the owner of Advocate, is great - as SO easy to work with! He responded within a day to my initial inquiry and arranged to meet at my home for consultation and showing samples. Both old roofs (my home and my mother's - on separate days) were completely removed within hours and a new roof was installed by late afternoon. Brian was very helpful in sharing information about qualities of different shingles and associated warranties. He worked with us to select one that complimented the brick and wood on the house and garage. His workers were very professional and courteous to my family and neighbors. They cleaned up all debris and assured no landscaping was damaged during the roofing process. Brian Scott the President of Advocate provided us with three great quotes based off materials and warranty for our secondary house in the Lake Geneva area to replace the roof. He provided us with detail explanations to help us with our choice. After we made our selection, the job was done by his crew in a very professional manner. After the job was completed, the crew did an excellent job cleaning up all the debris around the house. The job was completed in April 2017.

We are planning on using Advocate for replacement of the roof for our primary home in Northbrook in 2018.

Brian and his crew did an amazing job on my house siding. He came through for me after my initial "contractor", GTS Construction, left the job 3/4 unfinished, and in a condition described by 3 other siding companies, including Advocate, as "the worst siding work they have ever seen".

As stated above,I have Used Brian's Company, Advocate Contracting, in the past for a big siding job. He really helped me out of a bad situation when I got screwed and robbed by GTS Construction (stay FAR away from them). It was mid winter with half my siding off and the other half done incorrectly. Brian's crew was fast and true craftsmen. Saved the day! 5 stars on that job.

This time was a more simple deck patio door. Brian and his assistant got the old door out and the new one in on a very hot day in June, 2018. I had to finish the interior trim work myself (unexpected, but I do a lot of carpentry, so, no big deal) which was a bit of a chore as the new door did not fit in the opening exactly as the old one, but I managed to do it nicely. I think the door is great, and the price was right. I give 4 stars on customer service this time because it took a lot of me calling Advocate to get the job done after the quote. Nevertheless, I do recommend Brian.

In the spring of 2016, we asked Brian and his team to redo our siding, refinish our deck and install all new fascia trim around the house. I am embarrassed it has taken a year to submit this review. Brian and his team were tremendous. They are extremely professional and genuinely seem to care about their clients. Brian came prepared with suggestions, but never tried to oversell. He worked squarely within our budget, and delivered a product that is pretty remarkable. A year later, we are just as impressed with the work. Last year late spring (2015) we contracted Brian and his company Advocate Contracting to replace our siding, windows and doors and I am extremely pleased we did! As small business owners my wife and I get it when it comes to sales, installations and follow up customer service. We give Brian and his employees a rating of A+ on all of three of those most important successful business ingredients. For example: When our new doors and storms arrived Brian's installation crew was tied up he came out himself and installed them to make sure that all went well and it did.
