Not only was I overcharged by $1100, but the repair they did also failed in less than a month. I've tried negotiating with them, which worked at first but now they won't even answer my calls. I'm a disabled woman and I think they just thought they could take advantage of me. If I could give negative stars, I would. They won't even come look at what they did.

I wish that I would have read the reviews before contacting this company. 1st and foremost is that you cannot get anyone to answer the phone. Even though they are open for business and it is during regular business hours. I couldn't. I contacted them got no response and I did not leave a voicemail. All of a sudden I got a text message. I spoke back-and-forth with someone and and finally arranged for an appointment at 4 o'clock the next day. Well 430 came around and I had not heard anything or seen anyone. I tried calling the company again and got no response. Big surprise exclamation poit's! So I sent a text message asking what was going on. I got a response that the guy was running late And that he would be over an hour late from the initial appointment tim. I responded back to them and told them to forget it. Whoever was on the phone sending the text messages was extremely rude and did not care about the the job. They gave no excuse whatsoever. Then I read this is a commonplace with this company. And their responses are always the same to every complaint.

Action Building Services just successfully completed 3 building jobs for us -- rebuilding shed and roof behind garage, replacing steps off backporch with composite material and replacing roof on well shed. We are very pleased with results. Workers were hard working and efficient. All old materials removed promptly. Money well spent.

We should have hired ABS years ago for the peace of mind and reliability. Meticulous, exceeded expectations, friendly, very professional team. Beautiful deck too. Adopting ABS for future work small and large projects. Thankful for promptness.

I used action building services to turn my carport into a bedroom. They did amazing. Derek came out and explained the process and offered suggestions we loved and gave a competitive price so we went with ABS and I am so glad we did. Kelly and his crew worked daily and finished much quicker than we imagined was possible . This was a full on project and we are very pleased and impressed .

We hired ABS to take out our car port wall, replace it with a brick wall, and repair our shed out back. What we appreciated most, aside from how great it looks, is that when an error was made that there was an immediate fix. The owner is truly a stand-up guy. Integrity goes a long way for my family. So much so, that we are scheduled to have the inside of our house remodeled by them in June. I recommend them without hesitation.

Action building services built me a bathroom from the ground up. There was nothing there but a concrete slab and they did EVERYTHING from subfloor to brand new plumbing electrical everything. The bathroom is very well done looks great and action building themselves were very professional, on time, and FAST . They gave me a start date and began on time and were here every day until completion which I was amazed at how quickly they finished the bathroom. Would definitely use again they are a jack of all trades !

My experience with folks is you get what u pay for. Rented a dumpster from them to be delivered April 1. The dumpster was to be place in the backyard, they place under my carport. So I call them no answer left a voice mail. They texted me back an ask what was wrong. I told them they place the dumpster in the wrong place. There answer was the driver didn't see the footnote and would move sat. The 2nd. Guess what? Never did happen called them Monday again no answer. Texted them no response so wed. Comes and I texted them to just come get the dumpster. They did that. What a waste of my time and money.

My main need was for changing out old electrical fixtures for new ones I had purchased. Getting an estimate was quick, but I had was put on the work schedule over two months out. Once the date finally arrived they did stay a full two days until everything on my list was completed perfectly.

Both men were so easy to work with and a delight to have in my home for a two day period. I really appreciated the time taken for each job to be completed up to a high standard. One area required a VERY tedious task of creative work to get the new light fixtures that were smaller refitted into a larger space where the old fixtures had been.

I am a retired interior decorator, remodeling designer /consultant and have owned two home and garden retail stores. I highly recommend this company………if you have time to wait.

Recently reached out to company first by phone (no one responded or followed up after I left a voicemail) and later through text but received no response until after sending an additional follow-up message. Whoever responded simply listed a date, did not provide a quote, and did not discuss anything about what would need to be done to repair the issues in the pictures I provided. I will no longer be asking this company for any help due to the very unprofessional way they handled me simply reaching out to them. I don't understand how they are so highly rated since they seem to have (in my experience) such an unprofessionally trained employee handling communication with potential clients.

Follow-up to response left by company:

A couple of things. First of all, I didn't even call on Sunday (it was Saturday). Additionally, your website (at least at the time of my first attempt to communicate with you) claims that the company is open on Saturday, so I had obviously assumed someone was there. Second, why is someone interested in your service, and has taken the time to reach out to you, supposed to assume that there are difficult circumstances surrounding people who work for you. As a company who claims to be "the best," you should have figured out a way to work around circumstances that may interfere with normal functioning (especially after being around for more than 20 years). "The best" company would not have an outwardly rude and clearly insecure owner who seems to be unable to comprehend how to act professionally (or even train those who work for them to act professionally).

Your response really proves my opinion of you guys even more true, it's unbelievable how unprofessional a company like this can act. Additionally, I am not asking an instant response because obviously that is not realistic in almost all cases, however a response after a few days would be appreciated. The text I received simply listed a date as being the first opening, however there was no effort to explain what work would be involved during appointment or what the appointment would generally encompass. Regarding estimates based on pictures, I had specifically mentioned in my text that I was fully open to having someone visit to make an accurate estimate -- I expected someone to visit for this reason, and I included pictures to give an idea of what to expect prior to coming. Finally, I did not have an issue with the date like you claim I did in your unprofessional follow-up to my review. I had not mentioned my thoughts on the first available opening through text or through phone, so I am not sure where that idea came from.

I really appreciate the rude ending you felt the need to include on your response. It just displays how (once again) unprofessional you are and is an extremely poor way to represent your company. That is what is truly shameful.

We wanted to thank you for a great job that you recently completed for us. We love our new clean Patio. Sure beats the uneven wood deck that we had.  And with the patio now being cement it is basically maintenance free! No painting needed or worrying about loose boards or SLIVERS! We called ABS and they responded quickly & was friendly and easy to work with. They were professional and thoughtful about their work. They did a great job and cleaned up! We are very happy with the completed job and it was done within the estimated time. We will definitely use them again for future projects.”

Love to have worked with them, but after two+ weeks of waiting for the quote I was supposed to get within 24hrs, and after calling and being lied to, had to give up and go elsewhere. Its beyond me why a business would advertise a service, visit a home, promise a quote, and then fall off the earth. I mean, why bother?

Needed extra storage in garage and Action Handyman Services provided that! Had them build a mezzanine or as I call it a She attic !! Will use them again for future projects. Reliable, Affordable, Great craftsmanship!! Thank you Derrick, John, Nick and Kelly!!

I have to say this company and their crew are by far the absolute best handymen I've ever called and used to get some things around my home fixed and redone. The owner was very respectful and punctual
ever once did they show up late, left trash laying around or left a job unfinished, several times the guys stayed well pay five to finish up what're they were doing for me and I truly appreciated that since I've never had a company come do work for me and actually keep their word and do the job right the first time and in a timely manner. Great on pricing the job as well, didn't try and over charge me or take advantage of me at all. They were upfront about everything and when I gave them more than I was supposed to pay, they actually gave me the money back instead of keeping it like several other people would have done. I would recommend this company to anyone that wants some one open and honest and do the job right, call these guys and I'm sure you'll be satisfied and done right!!! One of the most professional contractors I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. The crew that came out was very respectful the guys completed there task in a very timely manner. The work completed was beautiful I will recommend Action Building Services to any and everyone that needs any type of construction done around there house or business. I tried twice to set up an appointment for a kitchen remodel. Had an appointment set for April 12 at 11AM with Derrick. No show. Called to see where he was, lady answered the phone said she would check and get back with me. No call. Called back later that day and the gentleman that answered said he didn't know why Derrick never showed but reset my appointment to 11AM April 30. I verified the date because it was over 2 weeks out. Call this AM to reconfirm and the lady stated I was not scheduled. Oh well..moving on. Dissappointed due to the good reviews.

They were able to send someone out the same day. Very knowledgeable and charged a reasonable price. Would definitely use them again.

I am shocked with the lies that have been relayed on this google review about the situation that took place at my parents residence with the so called technician that showed up this morning, I initiated the appointment on yesterday afternoon where I spoke to the individual directly. This is not a company that sends out technicians this is a personally owned business operation off a cell phone. The same person I spoke with yesterday was the same person that showed up to my mothers residence this morning and the same person I spoke with about the issue with him wearing a mask. My mother called me and stated the individual was at the door with no mask and she ask where is your mask? Not screaming or yelling what would be the point to scream or yell she was aware he was coming. After being asked about the mask the individual proceeded to his truck and left. My mother then informed me of the incident and I called the individual and I stated calmly that my mother stated she ask where was your mask and you just left. The individual stated to me "I did leave she asked me to wear a mask." I then stated that Covid is very serious and my mother is not risking her health. He stated "THAT DOESNT MEAN I HAVE TO WEAR A MASK." The individual then hung up the phone in my face. I am a police officer and work for well respected sheriff's department in Columbia SC. I am in the customer service field everyday. I never yelled never screamed nor did my mother. This individual has no customer skills and is a horrible businessman. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS EVER. I hate to say this but I wonder if we were of another race would the results be the same. What this individual doesn't know is that before I called him I knew it would be an issue about the mask and I recorded the conversation also while my wife was listening on speaker phone. That is who made the original complaint about my situation so WARNING DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. Also he stated in a reply to my wife on google that the person that came to my mothers house (HIM) just recovered from Covid so why didnt you already have on your mask or have a mask with you when you came to the door WOW my family will not be lied on and I will make a google post daily until the truth is told!

Action Building Services have done several jobs for me over the last few years: building a dock, repairing my boathouse, repairing my deck, wall-mounting a heavy bookcase, and recently installing a washer and dryer In our laundry room. They are prompt, do excellent work, and work fast. Whenever I need work done around the house, I call them first. I recommend them highly, and only wish i had discovered them 10 years ago. They’re great!

I bought a house in boiling springs a few months ago and needed both repairs and modefications to accommodate medical therapy equipment. I had a hard time finding a contractor until I called ABS. I am very happy with the work they did and am planing on rehighering them to convert a bathroom into a handycap bathroom for a quadriplegic loved one. They were on time did a great job with the home modifications. I highly recommend
them! If you need a good contractor that knows what he is doing then call ABS. I look forward to having them come back to do the bathroom remodel.

I contacted ABS on a Thursday, they sent Kelly out the same day to take a look at what I needed to have done. Kelly was very professional and thoughtful. I am very satisfied with the work that has been done, and will definitely use their services again!

Fantastic & fair & honest company. I had a sun room that was leaking due to some gutters. I mean, the water was really coming through like a mini flood near the door & windows. So I needed someone fast. I reached out to ABS & they responded on the same day & came out to my house to give estimate. Very impressed with their work. Will hire them again.

We had the interior of our home painted by ABS and the painters we had (Robert and Andy) were amazing! The finished project is beautiful. We were very pleased. Another employee, Kelly, is also great for just about any handyman type job. This is the second time we have used this company and will continue to use their services. Kelly came out the same day I requested a quote. He was on time for the job even though his crew wasn't going to make it. He still gave us his word that the job would be done on time and he kept that promise. He is amazing at his job and very knowledgeable. We highly recommend his company and will definitely be calling him for other projects.

I requested a quote to put a piece of siding back up on my house that I could not get to. Kelly came out to give me a quote and just went ahead and did the job on the spot. He told me his hourly rate ahead of time and charged me for exactly the amount of time it took to get it done.

I had a water leak no one could seem to find .come to find out it was my main water line an in a matter of a day in a half it was all fixed... Also had them re-do my bathroom an I am so so happy with the work they did thank u Big Kelly and Kelly Jr they did amazing work

We've used Action Building Services four or five times over the last year. I completely trust and recommend Kelly and his team. Fair prices, reliable and creative solutions for problems. Very polite and respectful as well. They can do anything!

They ACED my project. Built an beautiful, solid fence with a gate, around my deck. Kelly was on time and worked straight through 5 hours. What a wonderful carpenter too! Fairly priced. Exceeded my expectations. I'm so pleased- it's getting so hard these days to find a real craftsman. I will always use this company (and Kelly) to do work for me in the future!

Kelly and Arron did an excellent job on repairing a leak in my roof that cause my livingroom ceiling some water damage. Can out at appointment time and was very helpful.

I searched for months to find a contractor that could build a rather large utility building behind our house. Our lot doesn’t have the ability to have a prefab set in place. I talked to probably 6-7 different contractors, who would either tell me they would come out to quote me (and never show up) or would brush it off like the job was too small for their time. I was just about to give up when I happened to google builders in Spartanburg, which is how I came across ABS. Something about the fact that they had a website made me feel more at ease. Honestly I figured if they invested into their company enough to have a site then there was a good possibility that they would be legitimate and professional. So I took one more try at it and called the number. I wasn’t able to connect with anyone on the call, though it was a Saturday, but I received a follow up text immediately after. I responded to the text, explained a little about what I was looking for and asked if this was something they would be interested in looking at, which they were. We set an appointment for Kelly to come out to meet me that following Tuesday at 6:30pm. On Tuesday Kelly arrived and within minutes I could tell that he knew what he was talking about. We discussed the project and Kelly told me he would have a quote over to me in a couple of days. Maybe three days later I received the quote. I had Kelly return to my house to discuss the specifics once again and to discuss moving forward. We set a start date of two weeks. Kelly and his crew were scheduled to meet me at 8:30 am the morning of their start date. He and his crew were there as expected. We touched base to make sure we were all on the same page and then they went straight to work. Within 5 days they completely built the building, installed the vinyl siding, installed the shingles and had all of the electrical connections made. On the sixth day they came back to button up any minor details and clean up the site. The finished product looks fantastic. There was no “cutting corners” on this one. I received exactly what I asked for and was promised. Kelly and his crew went above and beyond to make sure this project was top notch. Another thing that I was really pleased with was the crews respect level. They were courteous of my surrounding neighbors and of our HOA rules. They were all very pleasant to talk to and made sure that they were extra courteous of my wife, who works from home. Overall I am thankful for Kelly and the ABS group. Should I need any other remodeling or construction services I know exactly who I am going to call.

If you have high expectations for quality, find time management and delivery important, then trust me when I say ABS is the one.

My story is way too long however I have evidence and pictures, I will even let you come to my home and see there work for yourself. All these kudos that have been receiving has been for simple jobs. As my job process, once they knew I wasn’t happy I was treated like a side job. Kelly tried his best, and Derrick is a smooth talker when he is getting you to sign the contract., and he will definitely answer the phone on the first ring if he knows you are giving him money, but don’t except anything more from him. I am grateful to have my room done. That’s the only praise I can give them. I am a firm believer to use mom and pop companies to use local when ever I can. If you have a small project use them. If you have a big add on or a multi room remodel, come see my home first.

My biggest pleasure is that they actually showed up and then returned to complete my project. Hardly ever get that service. Thank you for a job well done. Very responsive!!!!

Called them for a window that was leaking in my house. Derrick promptly returned my phone call and told me that Kelly would come out that evening. Kelly arrived and took a look. He walked me through was he was doing and what he was going to use to fix the issue. He was very polite and a pleasure to work with. He even said if that didn't fix the leak he would come back out and look more into the issue but he didn't see any other way for the water to leak into the house then what he fixed. He caulked around all six windows on the front of my house. I am very pleased and definitely will use them for a few things that are on my to do list.

We had a 16 x 12 foot deck and 10 foot dog ramp from our first deck to the new one they built. It matched perfect and was flawless and we could not be happier. We highly recommend them. Derrick gave us a quote and even added some extras to help us out he was great to work with. We interviewed 4 others but we liked this company the best. He has a Master Carpenter Steven who is awesome. He really took time to put the best quality product on our deck and ramp. He came up with a design that made us the envy of our development and everything was completed in three days!! Amazing! His crew were great, and they cleaned up every night and took time to make sure I was happy as they built it. It was perfect and I would not go anywhere else but with these guys so they will be hearing from us in the future as we do phase two.

We have had a similar experience to the other guy who paid a large deposit and got no response or action. We did the same and have had no contact for several weeks. Two scheduled dates for having work done came and went with no contact. Repeated calls and messages left unanswered. Now checking on small claims court action. These folks should be avoided.

After a bit of a rocky start getting thing scheduled, Kelly (ABS's owner) showed up on time and completed my project quickly and thoroughly. He was very kind and polite and made me, a single woman, feel comfortable and safe. I have already asked about an estimate on another project that's been on my TO DO list for a while!

I came up from Florida to help my dad remodel his house. It was a lot of work. A buddy told me about this company and I. Glad he did. They did amazing work for a great price. Would definitely recommend this company

UPDATE could it get worse....although below they owned up to never doing any of the work, they lied to me twice about sending refund and to this day have never refunded my deposit for NO work. My credit card company is going after them , so to remain factual where they posted that they refunded my money is a lie. Don’t do Buisness with someone who says they will do things and don’t. I have contract, receipts etc...Oh well. be careful.

Entered into a contract in second week of December with this company, project never started after multiple calls, could never get anyone to return my calls to understand what was going on. Paid a large deposit, and in February finally got a hold of Derick one of the owners. He assured me my contract had been lost and he would make it right, start the project, And update me within a week on the progress and rrepeatedly apologized for the poor service. After 2 weeks nothing again no start to the project no one returning my calls and my deposit paid for several months. Horrible follow through and terrible communication. I would highly suggest you look elsewhere with my horrible experience.

Kelley,Derrick & David did a very fine Job remodeling 2 Bathrooms. They stayed on it and were very diligent in their approach. They were friendly, timely, and very customer focused. They did a hard job & knew what they were doing. Kelley is very Talented.

Small Job Done. Recent storms pulled down some siding on ny home. Called ABS. They came out, privided an estimate, pointed out some other minor damage. Within a few days, they were back to make repairs. Done in a few hours, zero hassle. It was worth every penny to me. I will call them again.

Action Building was quick to respond to my inquiry. They were competitively priced and completed the job and the time frame that I needed. I was very happy with them and will use them again with household projects.

Action Builders exceeded my expectations in every way. After being disappointed by other contractors I was very up set. Others would say they were coming and would not show up or even call. Action did everything they said they would in a timely manner and at reasonable prices. I thank Derrick Peck for his patience and compassion. He really cared about helping me to sell my deceased sister's house. I am very greatful. Since I live in Charlotte, NC, and the house is in Spartanburg, SC. It could have been a logistical nightmare.
However, it was not, thanks to Derrick. I have already recommended Action Builders to three people.
