Very nice customer service, they ask if they can help me. I ask yes please. I found what I was looking for and I love it. Thank you everyone there.

This is a really nice hardware store with a wide variety of products and I like that you can shop online for in-store pickup.

I had heard good things about the owner and was excited to meet him. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. I came in for a chat and he escalated a normal conversation into a one-sided confrontation, to the point of yelling out racist comments against me. Then he proceeded to usher me out of the building without ever even listening to what I had to say.

I bought online taking advantage of the promo code. The product I wanted was in stock, available, and ready in 15 minutes. I bought it 8 hours ago and still pending. DO YOUR JOB. This wasn't the first time either. Before, I ordered shipping to store and I check the tracking on a daily basis. It was held in store for 5 days before it was ready for pickup.

I've been profiled plenty of times in my life while shopping, but never so blatantly as when I shopped here. I was searching for a specific bolt to use on a piece of outdoor furniture. While I was searching for it the guy came and stood at the end of the aisle and just stared at me, no words spoken, until I stopped and made eye contact with him, then he asked me what I was looking for, which would have been fine if it wasn't with a tone of irritation and the body language to go with the irritation. I answered his question and kept looking. I proceeded to go to the next aisle, and he quickly appeared at the end of the aisle with the same irritated look and stance. I tried ignoring him for a few seconds but decided to just leave and find it somewhere else. As I was getting up from my crouched over position, he asked in a very rude dry tone if I'm done, I just said ya and walked out. He proceeded to follow me all the way out of the store closely. This store no longer exists for me, and I wish I could give a -5 review on here.

An employee refused service to me and made me leave because of my service dog. She required me to show her documentation, although that is a violation of the Americans with disabilities act and OSHA for trying to force me to disclose my medical history to her. I contacted the, human rights council and they will be able to start my case in about two months.

I let her know that there is a federal statute condemning her inquiry, but she continued to make me leave and even followed me out although I was not acting up or anything, she seemed triggered based on the fact that I know my rights. The employee’s name is Lisa, she’s… maybe halfway to 100, grayish hair, tends to focus on the business of others.

Was told they no longer allow dogs in the store at this location. The hardware run on weekends with the dog is a favorite activity of mine. So you’ve lost a customer. There are other hardware stores we can visit and they keep treats at the counter. I know Ace hardware stores are locally owned so I like supporting those businesses when possible, even if this one is significantly more expensive than the competition. Too bad.

Was in there not more then 5 minutes ago to buy some stakes. First Lady said they would sell them to me individually and took them to the front to be told I had to buy the whole box. That’s fine the box was sitting under a price tag for $18.99 when they can the box it rings up at $26.99 and would not honor the $18.99z not only liar’s but also scammers. I will never shop with Ace again. This was what my experience was with Amber from the Shelton ACE hardware.

Highly recxomend going to any other hardware store in existence over this ace.

I came to the store and as soon as I entered, was told to leave my bag at the counter. I explained it was a diaper bag and the lady told me I had to leave it at the front if I wanted to enter. So I walked out with my kid. It's ridiculous to request a mom with a diaper bag to leave her bag at the counter. I keep my wallet and phone in it and don't often have pockets where I can hold them. I guess you don't need our family's business.

Don't waste your time or hard earned money at this overpriced, Discriminatory hardware store!! If could give Negative amount of stars then I would... I walked into Toziers to buy some shop vac bags. Ok everything in back is behind a Locked gate. Sure I didn't mind waiting 20 mins. for the store employee to unlock it and help get me the vac bags, no prob. I don't mind waiting for customers ahead of me. What I find Extremely Angering is that the employee would Not let me carry the vac bags 20 feet to the checkout register. Ok that was weird. He packs them to the counter and tells the checkout girl Its for that guy. I told him I was more than capable of carrying them to the register myself. He says no its policy because of Shoplifting....

I have never been so belittled, and made out to be a potential Thief by Any store employee anywhere in this country in the 45 years I've lived on this planet! I have never shoplifted anything in my life. I was Completely made out to be shoplifter/theif at this store today.. Un Freaking Called For... I will Never step foot in Toziers Ace Hardware Shelton ever Again.. You All Just lost a Local customer.. The discrimination is almost Lawyer worthy!!

Almost everything you need under one roof. They're getting it opened up in the store. It's getting easier to move throughout the place.

The staff seemed helpful but the owner was so mean to the guy helping me, when I asked if he was talking to me or the assistant the owner informed me he owned the store and asked WHAT IF he was talking to me, I sat down my items and will never be back! Then he proceeded to insist on walking me out, to which I stood my ground and the true bully in him froze.... what a piece of work

I'd give it 00000 stars if I could. I went in looking for a sheet of wood to make a wild cat a house for winter.

I found one the perfect size and it had been jammed way back so it was cracked, warped and scuffed with some old lint stuck on one side.

The regular price was $29.00
With all that damage it was MAYBE a $10 piece of wood.

I asked the register lady if she could discount it. She Saif no she had to wait for manager. No problem, and within minutes here comes the manager entering unpleasantly with snide remarks to her staff.

They explain to her that I was looking to see if it could be discounted.

This grouchy gremlin says "can do 10%"

Not even $3! This crabcake then proceeds to say "I'll send it back to the warehouse for a full refund of my money"
Lie lie lie!!! She didn't have the bearing of one who is even marginally proactive. If she was, she'd of known that board was back there ROTTING.

Besides I can't stand that whole "me, mine, i" like she's Mrs. Ace herself!

Anyway I know that board went straight to the dumpster and that unpleasant small minded woman has lost a customer along with such petty behavior

I'll just keep my business at Tractor Supply where the people are pleasant and the prices are better!

This place reminds me of a storefront hardware store in Queens N.Y.. Packed to the rafters with all kinds of various tools, hardware, garden, paint... Everything!! Team of elder experts stocking items and offering assistance & expertise.

So the port orchard ace is a 5star place the shelton ace is a 3 star due to its cramped and tools are all locked up got to wait for some one to let you in the gate then literally hover over you while you are looking. Also they are higher then the port orchard ace Belfair ace is 5 star as well.

I've always wanted to give this store a great review. But I don't like being stood over while I shop and fallowed to the counter like I'm a criminal! Especially when I have NEVER given ANY reason for it. I pay for Every item I get. While I have sympathy and understanding for the uptick in theft and how bad it truly is everywhere . There is a line. You can watch me from afar.. if your that concerned. I mean almost everywhere let's you know you're every move is being watched but at least the other stores do it with a smile . This is a smaller business and I understand the loss is most likely much harder to recover from. But in my opinion there are probably better ways . Just saying.

After looking at 3 other places I was so happy to find dark leafy greens & some herbs. Also love their selection of Milwaukee power tools, I was able to find the hedge trimmer attachment I had been looking for. Staff was very helpful although most of them had no idea what I was looking for/ talking about. They still escorted me around the store & garden center and ensured I found what I was looking for.

This Ace hardware is more expensive than most other places in town and is a little over stuffed with items.
However, the helpfulness of the staff and the friendliness of the cashiers who remember you and your family each time you come in make this feel more like a small town hardware store and give it a welcoming atmosphere.
The stores only draw back; not having very competitive pricing, reducing the amount of business others might do here instead of driving out to Olympia to patron the big box stores.
I will say this location does have a nice selection of plants and other seasonal items that can be very convenient.
The parking is a little tight, but the across the street nursery gravel parking is much easier for larger vehicles and makes up for the on-site parking.

The store Manger was cruel. During my interview
Terrible leader
By the way he talked to others. Spent more time wanting me to get his Linkin profile read. was Terrible be cause my indeed app would not print in his network protection
Printed quicksilver fast when I left the property
Tried to check on a return. I had done his bookkeeper was not only rude. But the queen bee. Employee's spoke low and soft when she was brow beating another deaf customer because she had to call him to her register
Was awful. The owner was kind the tension in the store was sad. I can understand why the were under staffed
And thank God didn't go to work for them

There is ONE helpful/knowledgeable employee. He is the only reason I continue to give this place my money. But to the rest of you… How can you work in a hardware store and not know what a bulkhead fitting is?
How can you charge $25 for a wheel barrow assembly fee when the person who assembled it is already getting paid to do so???
In all my years of buying wheel barrows, I’ve never been charged an assembly fee. That would be like going to Olive Garden, ordering breadsticks, and then being charged extra for having them baked.

Great little hardware store with knowledgeable employees. Very kind and patient, thoughtful and helpful. No one in town except these fine folks here had what I needed. Very grateful for them being there. Recommend coming here for your hardware needs/home repairs, also sometimes they have great deals on bird seed if you have a liking to feeding the wild ones. They even have the cutest bird feeders I've seen when I was there in the spring. I adore this place and the people, I hope you the reader have a pleasant experience here as well.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
