I can’t even begin to say how happy and grateful I am at this moment because of this Packwood ACE hardware store. I might sound a little crazy but my husband was nice enough to drive me there over Skate creek RD considering all the potholes all because of my tile project. I decided that I don’t like the black and white tile so he said come on let’s go get some paint. This store was going to close very soon and the men working there were more than nice. They were so helpful and I was able to pick out a color to paint my tile. I just didn’t want to get stuck having to look at the ugly tile every time I have to wash dishes. They mixed the paint and the end result is amazing. I am thrilled with the color. And they were so nice to help us out. Really a big THANK YOU!

We went in and found what we needed. The gentleman there even offered my girls some popcorn, which they enjoyed. They were helpful and friendly.

WORST CUSRIMER SERVICE EVER! Wow, we hurried before the closed and the guy kicked me out because he was having a coversation with a cop. Really? We needed just an extension cord and a hose so we can camp nearby. That was it. He REFUSSED to listen. He couldn't wait 5 minutes? Really? Amazing how rude that was! Now we won't have water or power all weekend. Guess if it doesn't affect you it doesn't matter. Thanks for the compassion.

I always appreciated having the hardware store in town. Its nicely laid out and has most everything you need. It is pricey, but the convenience is worth it and I do like to support the local stores.

I had purchased 5 pieces of lumber and went back the next day to exchange 2 pieces and return one. The young man at the store informed me very loudly that they do not return lumber and it posted 'everywhere'.
#1 On my receipt, well ... at that point I have already purchased.
#2 In the lumber yard, well ... he had gone to the lumber yard, not me, to get my order.
#3 Up high on board between the 2 registers, I had not even walked past that sign and just went straight to paying at the first register inside the door.

The young man was not empathetic and was authoritative toward me. I can understand the policy, to an extent, for wood that has been out of the store for a long time possibly in the elements. I had the wood in my possession less than 24 hours. Maybe make it a practice to verbally inform customers when they buy lumber? Customer service should still be practiced even if you are the only game in town.
As for me, I won't be back. I could, and now wish I had, brought those 5 pieces of wood from Home Depot.

Well organized and kept ACE, as you would expect from the ACE line of stores. Good selection applicable to the location and season. Competitive pricing that garners customers to visit the store vs shop online.

Packwood Ace was very friendly, cleanest store I have ever seen. It was the most well stocked store for its size I've ever seen. They started helping me and never quit until I was completely
satisfied. Their prices were reasonable in today's prices,
I loved it.

Cashier (thin guy, hat, goatee) made a huge fuss that I made a return. I said I still needed to buy several more items, so he knew I was still in the store but proceeded to very loudly (passive-aggressively) complain to another employee about the return.
Surprising to see a grown man, a “professional”, act this way so I called him out. He said he was the store owner, which was surprising because people make returns all the time. It’s a pretty basic function of a retail store and it will happen again lol. Don’t act unprofessional if someone returns something. Or just change your return policy so you don’t have to cry about it. Such an annoying & unnecessary interaction. I will gladly spend my money elsewhere whenever possible.

This hardware store has everything you need. If not, they will get it quick for you. I've gone in for a box of screws and ended up with a Stihl axe. Try and guess which guy has a SS tattoo. It is out of the city. ;(

This store has been recently remodeled and has nearly twice the square footage that it used to have. Great inventory selection and retail help that actually knows their products. So happy to have Ace Hardware in Packwood Washington open and ready to serve its customers.

A good selection, given the location, with most camping essentials. The staff were very friendly and all of them were wearing masks. We'd gone in looking for an air mattress. They were out of stock but an associate recommended checking the Chevron. Thank you for giving this city slicker a comfier time camping.

Never take a bolt or screw into this store. Because the next time you visit this store, they will swear that you not only stoled the bolt the you brought in to match up, but then refuse to allow you to view the video that they say proves it. Not only do i do not take things from anyone. But because theyre employee just couldnt be bothered to help you. We still had to travel almost a 100 miles to get three bolts. It must be nice to not have the sense that must humans do, and watch, and share the experience with everyone, and i live in small apartment. I will never do any business with these people again

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
