Sam and his crew did an excellent job replacing my roof and installing siding on my house. They offered a fair price and completed the job quickly. I would recommend their services to anyone needing roof or siding work.

Sam to the Rescue! For the past month, I have been nothing but a wreck after having a major roof leak and trying to find a roofer that I felt was PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE , and most importantly TRUSTWORTHY.

I was referred to Sam by word of mouth after interviewing at least 8 roofers and immediately upon meeting Sam, I was finally AT EASE.

He responded PROMPTLY and gave me a REASONABLE estimate the very next day. He took his time explaining the process and going over the materials. He answered all of my questions PATIENTLY and did not have to give me a sales pitch nor did he rush me.
Overall, I felt that he was a CONSCIENTIOUS person which led me to choose him.

He and his team completed the work and cleaned up together. This a boss that worked alongside his team to ensure a job well done.

I am so HAPPY for being referred to Sam and he will be the FIRST person I call for any future roofing.

When my roof shingles started falling off, a friend recommended A & S Roofing. Sam was my third estimate, and after speaking with him, I knew his company was the right one. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and professional; he was very patient and explained in detail everything that needed to be done as well as the problems we could face once the old roof was stripped off. Sam and his crew arrived on time and went right to work. They were extremely neat, even covered the side of my neighbor’s house, cleaned everything up and took it all away with them. If it was not for the new great looking roof, you would not have known they were there.

Our initial discussion was lengthy and informative where he advised in relative detail about the essential elements of my roofing job, from removing the existing roof, staging the installation of the new roof and the clean-up which left my property without any evidence of the work that was done. The workers were courteous and remained focused on their tasks throughout the long day. At first I hesitated calling because sadly in the past I’ve had experience with long delays or unreturned phone calls from some service providers. Well I shouldn’t have hesitated. Sam returned my phone call 3 minutes after I left a voice mail on the business line. I couldn’t believe it. I had been having a slow leak situation, but the weather forecast was predicting several consecutive days of rain the following week. After hearing my concerns, Sam somehow was able to get here the same day to inspect the roof. I was given a few options for the work that needed to be done. We scheduled the job to be done in a 2 day window. I appreciated the communication to confirm for the morning of the job. Sam and his team arrived very early, started the work immediately. They were so careful of my house and the area surrounding the job. The men worked so well together and the job was completed without too much fuss. Sam was here from beginning to end to make sure everything went smoothly. I was very impressed by the clean up, as well. Every last piece of debris was packed up and taken away. I feel that the price for the work was definitely fair. The 3 men worked so well together, it was like a dance routine. I would definitely recommend them highly to friends and family.

New roof and siding :). October 2022 the company workers came out on time and cleaned up and was ready to work . I was very worried however they communicated to me every step of the way. Even after the roof job was complete I was still worried about leaks coming into my home, Sam ensured me not to worry and I have been happy ever since !!!! Sam called on a rainy day to make sure I did not have any leaks. I highly recommend this company to complete roof work. check in with me about any leaks etc.

Not responsive to multiple calls for repair of their work! Sam installed my roof a few years ago, When I noticed a leak i called for someone to look at it. Someone came and said they fixed it and I was satisfied. The next rain storm i noticed a leak from the same spot,I've since called multiple times for someone to come and fix it and have had two no show appointments and one ignored call.

My husband and I are very pleased with their work. They replaced the old roof and the skylight and installed a new ones. Beginning to end they did an amazing job. After they were done they cleaned up very nicely. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

I found this Company on the web. Spoke with Eli, and he came out promptly and gave us a estimate and competitive price! His pricing was much better than other roofing Contractors that I spoke with in the area. Sam installed my roof about 6 years ago. There have been some pretty tough winters and storms over these years and the roof has been holding up perfectly. The time came for me to change my gutters and naturally it was an easy decision to ask Sam and Eli to do the work. They finished the job in one day and noticed some work that needed to be done on my skylights & took care of that too. They are the real deal! Very professional, experts at what they do and.... completely trustworthy. I totally recommend them for the quality of their work and the peace of mind that you will get!!!!

Original review: Sam and Eli are a father and son company and both of them give excellent service at a good price and are honest people. They have done my roof and fixed my siding and both jobs are done perfectly. I would highly recommend them.

New review: After years of using this company, their warranty got put to the test. Sam Duka is a liar and a thief. I had to get my roof inspected and fixed before having solar installed. Usually the solar company partners with a roofer and offer you this under one package warrantied by the solar company. The company I used, Empower Solar in Long Island, did not have an associated roofer in Staten Island at the time, so they told me to use whomever I could. I asked Sam what the best option was. Best most expensive (2019 price) was $10k to strip shingles and lay new shingle down, $5k to do shingle over shingle. Advise to all solar owners, stick to single shingle because down the road problem troubleshooting is easier and cheaper. Anyway, I went with shingle over shingle, solar company also agreed it was ok to do so (mistake). Sam also had replaced a skylight for me earlier that year. 2022 December, I get a leak in my room, next to and near the skylight. I go up into the attic and could see mold. For the next few months I got batted back and forth between the solar company and Sam about who's fault this was. Sam DID NOT EVEN GO BACK ON MY ROOF (he went to the attic and that's it) and said it wasn't his work that was the problem. Then told me that his warranty was voided the second the solar company drilled into his shingle. I stated to him, that the only reason he was given the job to put new shingle down was because he knew I was getting solar installed. So I asked him, did he lie and say his work would be warrantied, knowing he wouldn't live up to it because his "out" would be blaming it on the solar company? He gave no answer to this. Btw he never gave me any paper work that there is a warranty of his work, so I was doubly screwed. Anyway, I ended up paying $1800 to the solar company for removing, checking and reinstalling 1/3 of my panels. I called another roofer, who found that some shingles around the skylight had shifted, and a few of the nails around the skylight were not caulked. He did a heavy duty caulk job, that even the solar guys were impressed with, and I have had no leak since. So it ended up being the skylight, that Sam Duka installed; he didn't bother to check it out, he didn't fix it, blamed my solar company, did not honor his own verbal warranty (which was also listed on his website), and cost me more money. He is a real POS, and is not a man who is true to his word.

Wow! What an amazing experience. I recently moved to Staten Island from Jersey and after closing on the house, needed some work done on my roof. I didn't know who to trust but a friend of mine recommended A & S Roofing. I gave them a shot and let me tell you I am so glad I did. Sammy was very professional from scheduling an estimate to contracts and really made it simple for me to understand what exactly needed to be done and how they were going to do it. Sammy was always just a call away for any questions and the work was very well done. The before and after pictures are insane. Neat, clean professional work. I would highly recommend A&S to anyone that needs work done.

Called on Wednesday morning got voice mail. Someone called back soon thereafter very nice name was Sam. Spoke to him told him what I needed and was told to text my address to him. I texted my address and he replied that he would see me around 4PM Thursday. Here it is 4:30 on Friday and i am STILL WAITING FOR HIM TO SHOW UP. What a friggin joke. No phone call or nothing. Business is that good you don’t even show up TRY SOMEONE ELSE

I have used A& S roofing since 2010. Sammy the owner was the only roofer who came out after Tropical storm Irene; fixed my roof in 2016 and came out today to fix a leak by my gutters. Although this was a small job he had no problem coming out. Very reliable and fair.
