My cousins place flooded after the sump pump died… the funeral was held in the Home Depot parking lot. The crew showed up on mass. Cleaned up the water, that was left. Dried out my cousins palace. Very professional. Fun crew to be around too. Happy to leave them a great review. They did a great job…

My toilet clogged last night and my local cleaners refused to clean up the mess. Pat and his team went out this morning and cleaned up the bathroom in less than 15 minutes. Best part is he didn’t even charge me because it was so easy! My company deals with this all over the country and I never once had a vendor not charge me. What a great guy! I’ll be sure to hire his company again.

Pat stopped by and took a look at my water damage. Instead of saying there is an issue when there actually isn't, he pointed a few fans at the damage and recommended keeping them on for a few days. Too many people try to charge people for fake work these days and Pat seems to treat people the way they should be treated.

Antonio and his team did an excellent job with the water mitigation on such short notice. Very informative and transparent, highly recommend!

I feel like I'm just adding to what everyone else said, but from start to finish this company was great. The people I needed to communicate with were friendly, clear, and responsive; it also was well organized, so I had a few touch-point people I know by name. They were flexible and helpful, as well as fast, respectful, and did quality work. Shout outs to Patrick, Brian, and David in particular, but an all-around friendly and high-quality company. :)

Called up to schedule a visit for an estimate on some work. Guy who answered the phone was rude and condescending. Said he’d show up the next day between 10am-12pm (held up my Saturday) and never showed up. No call, just no-show. Take your business elsewhere.

Edit: Person who responded to this review called me late at night and sent several text message trying claim I am lying. Sent screenshots, etc. I did not engage at all, blocked him. I have no reason to lie about this, I just wanted my damn problem solved.

I would highly recommend Pat and his crew. We experienced mold in our basement and Pat was very informative regarding the process. The crew went above and beyond.

We noticed water under our washer. After cleanup, we noticed some unevenness with our tile floors. A representative was out within the hour. He did the assessment and informed us that a fan would be just fine.

I called the company and Patrick setup an appointment the same day. He came by with Agustin and Arturo and assessed the damages for an AC unit leaking from the second floor of my townhome. Pat, Tony, and the whole team, were hands down angels that came to save the day after hurricane Milton. I called late in the evening and the next morning Pat and gang were there to pick up my yard while providing me a quote. I was definitely skeptical at first - as I got quotes from five companies- but boy am I happy I found this amazing team who not only got the job done but were wonderful humans to work with. They understand the concern and worry so many have when emergencies happen in their home and are there to reassure, assess, and to get to work. His prices are fair and he always answers his phone. Hands down this is one of the best companies I've ever worked with. I've worked with thousands of contractors and companies in residential and commercial. Tony and Arturo were amazing! I had a bit of a water leak apparently coming from the roof onto some of the drywall in our house. They were extremely professional and prompt and were able to diagnose, contain, and remediate the problem very quickly. Would recommend them again -- they're awesome!

After coming home from a vacation, I found my basement full with mold. My sump pump failed and flooded my basement. It sat for some time. I had these guys come out for a free estimate after my husband and I were concerned about longstanding moisture after we noticed water getting under our bathroom LVP after a spill. They came out and determined there was no moisture under the LVP and even double checked the ceiling underneath the bathroom to be sure. I appreciate their honesty as we all know how easy it is to be taken advantage of in trades where the layman's knowledge is limited. Hopefully I will never need a water restore company in the future, but if I do I will use these guys!

We had some water damage and mold due to heavy rain and a hole in our roof. We called Pat and his team and they immediately came to the rescue! From the beginning they were very knowledgeable, communicative and approachable. We've used 2nd Chance Water Restoration twice, for two completely separate issues, and both times we've been very pleased with the outcome. We appreciate that you can get ahold of them at any time, day or night, and that they are able to schedule an estimate quickly as well. After completing a gut rehab of our basement less than a year ago, we were understandably panicked when we found water under our floors days after a heavy rain. Pat and his team came out and not only diagnosed where the water was, but gave us a few options on how we might tackle the problem. Pat didn't jump to cutting up our floors and letting us deal with the aftermath, he took his time to look at his options and gave us his professional opinion based on the 25+ years he's been doing this. What we appreciate most wasn't the speed at which he could fix the problem, it was that he understood our predicament and didn't take the fastest or easiest way to address the issue, but the way that would be best for us. He took extra time to solve the burning question of "just where did this water come from?". Watching him work was like watching a savant. He was able to rule out the top places the water usually comes from and after a good amount of investigation, he found the patch that failed from an old furnace vent in our chimney, which was hidden behind our water heater. I hope to never have a water issue again, but if I do I will only call one person - Pat.

I highly recommend 2nd Chance Water Restoration. Pat and his crew were truly phenomenal. Our intention was to hire them for mold removal in our attic caused by improper ventilation & a roof leak. However, as soon as Pat walked in he immediately said we had issues with our crawlspace. I was shocked as I had already had a company check the crawlspace and I was told there was no mold. After the inspection, I vented to him regarding all of the things we needed to get done throughout our house. We ended up hiring them to address the mold in our attic & crawlspace, removing the tile ceiling in our family room, cleaning our vents etc. The entire crew truly went above and beyond to assist us in any possible way they could including moving heavy items for us and discarding a lot of junk from our attic and construction debris from our crawlspace.
Did I mention they are super affordable? The quote I received from Pat for all of services was less than what other companies were charging me to only remove the mold from the attic. l hope we will not be needing any services any time soon. This is by far the best Company for remediation services in the Chicago metro area. From employees to Management they all did an excellent job.
From start to end they were in constant communication with me. There prices are very reasonable and there customer service is subpar. Don't waste your time calling any other company for your services.

My wife and I noticed a foul odor in our laundry room that smelled like something had died. After some investigation, we realized the smell was coming from a vent and suspected it might be mold. Pat was amazing to work with and went above and beyond to help us out quickly. Entire process was easy from start to finish.

Excellent service and crew members. I had storm water in my basement and they came within a couple hours to inspect it. They gave me an estimate which I agreed to and they started clearing away wet items immediately. Another crew came the next day and started clearing the water but had to stop due to tornado warnings. They came back the next day and cleared all the surface water. They then installed a large dehumidifier and several fans. They said to leave the equipment running for 3 days, which I did. On the third day they picked up all their equipment.
All in all they did a great job and I am very satisfied.
As a side note, I also called Servpro and gave the my particulars, they said someone would call me back within an hour but did not call back for 2 days. Im so glad I called 2nd Chance for a 2nd chance.

Pat and Dave and crew were just awesome. That undersells it, honestly. I had a leak in the kitchen ceiling that I needed fixed ASAP and was expecting this whole thing to be a pretty terrible process. But Pat swooped in and got to work immediately. Very thorough guy. He also did a great job explaining all the issues/angles they were looking at because I know very little. But my favorite part about Pat and Dave were how trustworthy they were. And that’s not to say they didn’t do a phenomenal job on my ceiling, they absolutely did. But they are just good people. our home flooded after the storm last night, I called here due to the great reviews and spoke with a representative that said they were unable to help me as of now due to not having any power which does make sense however, I was still speaking and was hung up on which was extremely unprofessional. I will not be calling back when I do have my power back our home.

I've used 2nd Chance a few times over the years and they have never disappointed. I don't leave too many reviews but I thought it was necessary to really thank them for all the wonderful experiences I've had. Most recently I had a sump pump fail and needed their services to remove water for my carpets, remove damage drywall, and check for mold growth. They were very easy to work with and they made my experience seamless when speaking with my insurance company. The office staff is extremely attentive and the on-site service technicians were knowledgeable and friendly. They took great care of my home and personal belongings even going out of their way to clean up some sentimental items that otherwise might have had to be trashed. Thank you 2nd Chance Restoration. My sump pump gave out and I realized it at about 11p. I contacted Second Chance and they were out in under an hour. Pat came in immediately assessed the situation then had an additional team of two men come in and began the mitigation. They made light of the situation in a professional manner and really made me confident in choosing them through the entire process. While hanging ninja obstacles for my kids, I drilled through a copper water pipe in my basement ceiling. Needless to say, it was quite a wet mess on the carpet and in the ceiling. We had flooding that went from our upstairs bathroom into our downstairs bathroom. 2nd chance came out quickly and dried everything up. It was a long process to get everything figured out with our insurance and rebuild but 2nd Chance did a wonderful job putting everything back together. They made sure to take the time to do it right. We had several members of their team in and out of our house and they were always professional and polite.

Amazing company run by amazing people - Pat came out first thing the next morning when we got hit by the recent flooding in Chicago. Jesus and his team at 2nd Chance were able to come the same day after our water tank leaked in our basement. They were very professional and approached the job in a thoughtful way: starting with damage closest to the tank and then working their way out from the tank. They set up fans and dehumidifiers and we were dry after the weekend. They answered all our questions and showed us where the damage was and made solid recommendations for further testing before we refinish the flooring and walls on the basement.

We would use them again and recommend them to anyone with water damage like ours. They have a good work ethic and keep you informed about what they are doing.

UPDATED: 10/23/21

I used them to remove some drywall and insulation after water damage in my basement. They removed everything that they THOUGHT was the problem (leaky foundation) and left. A few days later, the REAL problem showed itself again (leaky pipes above the area they removed) but when asked to return to continue the remediation, they said they would be back... 6 months later... while we sit with wet drywall and insulation. VERY VERY EXPENSIVE WITH NO SOLUTION. I now have to hire ANOTHER contractor to come in and finish the job.

EDIT: After some conversations with their manager, they were able to give us a partial refund. He was very responsive to our texts and calls after our initial call.

I had a water heater blow out causing water damage throughout my lower level. I’m glad that I called 2nd chance. They were out to my house in a half an hour and got the work done fast, which saved me damage and money. I hope your home never floods, but I know who to call if it does.

If you have mold, this is THE company to call! Don’t even waste your time going anywhere else. I’d give them 1000 stars if I could.

I had my house under attorney review in the winter time, ready to sell. The buyers had their inspection. Their inspector found what appeared to be mold in the attic. It surprised the wife and I, as we never went into our attic for anything. Panicked at the potential of loosing our deal, we called several companies. Some wouldn’t even be able to get to us, but a few provided free estimates. 2nd Chance turned out to be the best price, and we’re able to start work immediately. Being the fact that it was winter, conditions weren’t favorable to remove the moisture in the attic, heat it up, and remediate the mold. However, these guys were never deterred. The general manager Brian was there with us from beginning to end. He clearly explained our situation, and what he could do to get us taken care of so we could make our sell. He stood by their original estimate despite having to supply several heaters and a dehumidifier in order to get the process going. Although the process was lengthy, due only to the extremely cold temperatures, these guys had at it and completed the job in the time we needed. Thanks again to everyone at 2nd Chance, you guys are life savers!

This company is definitely top notched... they were hand & hand with me through my entire rebuild of my kitchen...Any questions I had Brian had the answers and his workers that did the actual rebuild were phenomenal... I definitely would recommend them and work with these guys in the future

My wife and I had water damage and mold in our master bathroom and called multiple companies for estimates as the process was new to us. When your house floods, you feel very vulnerable and you need help, fast! 2nd Chance showed up the following day and serviced several homes on our block. They were trustworthy, friendly, did a great job and did exactly what they promised and more. We hope to never need them again, but if we do flood again, I'm so happy to have them in my contacts. Rob, Chris and Russ were especially great. There was a 3rd gentleman, too, that was awesome. Highly recommend!

Very quick, clean and efficient. Rob was very professional and explained everything that he was going to do and answered all my questions and concerns. He also gave me a great plumber referral and the plumber was out within the hour (which was mandatory to replace the sump pump prior to using the drying equipment). Water was pumped out quickly, sump pump was replaced and the drying equipment was positioned and started within a few hours after they arrived. Flooding obviously isn’t a pleasant experience, but Rob and his team helped me get back to normal quickly and other than a few rugs and a cheap faux wood floor, everything was salvaged.

Went above and beyond my expectations. Nothing worse than waking up to water in your basement. Gave pat at call at 6am was out to look at the damage by 8am. Crew had equipment going by 930 am and water was gone very quickly. They were able to mitigate the water damage fast. Had dehumidifying equipment over the weekend to remove any excess water damaged. This is a top notch water restoration company honest advise and super professional.
