WG Construction

I needed a couple roof vents put in for bathroom fans. I contacted four roofing companies and Walter was by far the best choice. He came by to look at the project and was tremendously kind, professional, and confident in his knowledge of what needed to be done.

He explained the process, showed me pictures of what the new vents would look like, explained that he would be laying down all new ice/water barrier around the vent to ensure that it wouldn't leak (instead of just using silicone), and quoted a great price. He also gave me a heads up that they may not be able to save the old shingles and that there would be a color difference since the existing shingles were close to 20 years old and faded.

Walter was able to start the job within a week. When he came to do the work, he took a look at my existing roof ventilation in the attic (ridge vent and soffits) to make sure it was performing well and gave me some tips for better airflow.

After marking the new vent locations with a nail through the roof (from the attic), his team made quick work out of the project and picked up all the debris. They were also able to save the existing shingles so there's no color difference on the roof.

Once the project was done, Walter sent over picture of the process and offered to come by if I had any questions.

It's now been a few days and we've had a few heavy downpours with no water getting into the attic so all seems good.

Overall, it was an excellent experience and Walter will be my first call if I ever need roofing work done in the future.

WG Construction responded to my call to have a repair made quickly. The call receptionist, Maria was pleasant. Walter came out to my home to see the work and to price. Walter and I discussed the work and I asked for extra nailing and an inspection of the other 3 sides of my home if additional nailing was required. Walter appreciated the photos I sent to the website for his review before he arrived. The work order and the price was sent via email. I was able to approve the work to be done and to receive all related paperwork at the website to printout which I found easy and convenient. The work required ladders. I would recommend WG Construction for homeowners who no longer can do ladder work without risk of falling and who live in a HOA community where the work needs to be addressed sooner than later to avoid conflict and fines. I did not shop around other than first calling a former contractor who was not available. The cost $450.00 to have two men inspect, repair and reenforce where needed at the roofline of my home and done within 48 hours of meeting Walter gave me peace of mind and I know the work was done correctly as a neighbor watched the workers and told me they did everything that Walter and I discussed. Overall I am very satisfied with the work performed. I understand with snow on the ground it was difficult to clean up work debris; nails, broken saw blades & wood scrap, etc. There are a few trim boards that weren't replaced but hopefully can be done when you come back to complete the deck. This was perhaps the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. We lost some shingles in a storm and I called them up and they were out here and fixed our roof within 24 hours. Prices were very reasonable and they are super professional. We will be using them for all our roofing/siding needs going forward. If you need some roof or siding work I'd highly recommend them - you won't be disappointed.

The Company, WG Construction was very polite and very hard working. They did a fabulous job with our one piece gutter. You don't know how nice it is unless you had gutters that were not installed properly and in more than one piece as was the case years ago. WG Construction, put in a proper pitch and increased the size a bit so now it works properly and will not ruin our decks or cause holes in the ground where the water runs through the cracks! We hired this company due to their BBB rating and we are glad that we did!

Due to issues with a previous contractor that neglected to install proper ventilation, we found that we had mold growing in the attic.
I called WG Construction and they were here that same day to evaluate. The cost was more than reasonable and gable vents were installed within a couple of days. The workers were friendly and professional. They wore proper PPE and the area was left clean.

I have been a homeowner for several decades and working with WG Construction was my best experience with a contractor. I needed the siding on a dormer replaced after having a new roof installed. WG Construction (Walter) was very responsive and quickly provided the multiple quotes I had asked for. The job was scheduled within a couple of weeks. The damaged siding was stripped, the wall was covered and the seams were taped before the new siding was installed. The workers did an excellent job installing the new siding and the dormer looks great. Excellent company to work with.

WG Construction recently performed roof repairs on our home. Walter was professional as was his crew. Walter provided us with a written quote that included a copy of his insurance. The work was performed well, the men were in and out in several hours, and there was no litter when they were done. I will certainly use WGC again in the future!

We hired WG Construction to locate where rain water was getting into our garage. Several other contractors were never successful. Walter determined the likely source was around an improperly sealed window. He removed enough clapboard siding to see the extent of the damage then removed/replaced any rotted wood sheathing, insulation, and 2x6 as needed. After wrapping the area with ice and water shield as well as sealing any area water could get in he replaced the exterior with new siding. So far there has been no sign of any more water intrusion.

They did a fantastic job, cleaned up daily and finished the job (gutters/fascia/soffits) earlier than expected (staying daily until it was almost dark). We met with Walter from WG Construction when we found out that we had significant wet rot under our deck to the structures of the house. Walter took our call, and was there the next day due to the priority. Walter and his crew came to our home and improvised a bracing system to move the existing deck off the house to make extensive repairs. They arrived as promised each day and the crew tirelessly worked during incredible summer heat and torrential rains. Walter and his proficient crew solved our issues, and now we have peace of mind that our house back to normal. I would highly recommend WG construction. I was very blessed to have WG Construction repair my leaking chimney. He corrected and completely repaired the rot and further damage done by the previous contractor who did not remove the old flashing and lead but instead put flashing and lead over it. WG Construction was professional and courteous. His crew was polite and considerate of my property and throughly cleaned the roof and grounds of debris. The repair was removal of all materials on and around the chimney. Remove rotten wood and replace with new wood. Placed ice and water shield on roof and wrapped around the base of the chimney. Placed new flashing and lead around chimney, and new shingles on the roof. I highly recommend this company. It's truly refreshing to have a contractor you can trust to get the job done correctly.

Wow. What an amazing team. They showed up when they said they would, the communication was great and they worked their butts off to get our job done. They stayed until well after 6 both days.I will be recommending them to everyone I know.

Got multiple quotes from at least 4 different companies before I decided to go with Walter and WG Construction. His knowledgable and friendly demeanor coupled with his flexibility is ultimately what helped to seal the deal (and great pricing). Walter and his team were able to accomodate any requests we made such as putting on new exterior lights instead of the old ones, adding ledger boards for a deck roof, etc. His team are absolute workhorses! 12hr days for 6 days a week and the entire project was done in ~3 weeks and the final product looks amazing. I highly recommend using WG construction for siding, windows, framing, etc as they have been great and Walter is highly knowledgable in what he is doing. 10/10 would use them again.

You are in incredible hands with Walter and his team. I have never been so impressed with a company's knowledge, skill, communication and commitment to getting the project done correctly. From the very beginning, Walter stood out from other contractors. He was the only person during our initial consultations who climbed up on our roof to try and assess where our leak/water damage was coming from, and to us that showed his genuine dedication to helping his customers.

We had an extensive project with new siding, window replacements, roof repair, gutters and a new front door. A project of that size and length could quickly become overwhelming, but Walter was in communication with us constantly and was at the job site himself every single day. Any issues that arose during construction (and we had many), Walter made us feel at ease and solved each problem quickly.

WG Construction LLC proved to be exceptionally good at communicating with us, their customer. Walter provided a detailed estimate with insurance cert. attached w/in 24 hours of first seeing our roof in need of replacement. A team of 10 men stripped our old roof, made several needed board and rafter replacements and did preventative procedures to avoid potential leaks. They completed the job in 2 days! WG Construction replaced half our roof in preparation for the installation of solar panels. The owner, Walter, came in person to make the assessment, provided the bid, and worked with his crew during the roof installation. Wa;ter always was available to address concerns (none) and to answer questions. The bid happened to be the lowest of the three we received, but the quality of the roofing materials used in the installation was the of the highest rating. The crew arrived early in the morning and worked straight through to the evening--working hard and thoroughly. The cleanup was very thorough and meticulous.

Really like this company. It’s a family owned local business, they are easy to deal with and very nice. Also…they don’t try to upswell you on things you don’t need.
I need an attic fan installed (which requires cutting a hole into our roof) because our attic gets much too hot in the summer months, and the roof ridge vents just don’t let enough heat escape. I got estimates from three different companies. The other two companies were significantly more expensive and guys who came out were more slick salesmen than roofers. And I got the feeling they were selling me on whatever they could. In fact after one of them left, my wife said “don’t use that company, I don’t trust that guy.”
Anyway, Walter from WG construction was great. He was very knowledgeable, very quick in assessing what needed to be done, and provided a fair estimate before he left. He even explained the install process and showed me the materials he would use.
I’ll provide an update after the work is done by Walter and his team, but so far I feel very comfortable to give them a five star rating based on my experience.

I would reiterate everything John Dacey had to say. Great family business work ethic. Walter better than his word. Did everything he said he would and more. Best quote of any that I received. Came ahead of schedule to accommodate me and was done in no time. Did an excellent job. I fully researched this project and have to say he used specified or better materials in every instance, and went above and beyond requirements on the valleys, ridge, edges, flashing, lower pitched roof sections, and vent pipes. Replaced plywood, siding and trim where needed. Really top-notch work, excellent guaranteee, very efficient, and excellent on the clean-up. With these guys, you get more than what you pay for! I saw Walter and his crew tearing off my neighbors roof with such incredible speed and efficiency! It was impressive.
Needing a new 63 sq roof on an prominent and historical 1840 former mansion, I went to talk to Walter - the owner. I found him to be a very sharp and friendly guy. On his 12:00 lunch break he took a look at my property.

We walked slowly around the home and talked about how to address some things and improve others; polish up the old girl. At this point I wanted him to do the job. He said he’d have a price for me the next day (Sunday!). He did, and it was a good price. Also, my neighbors new roof looked great! He emailed me a clear and detailed contract, told me he’d start in 2 weeks, and finish in 3 - 4 days.

He did everything he said he would!
They all worked hard, and efficiently - with an amazing focus. Their work was pure high quality craftsmanship. The new roof, the crisp white aluminum trim the full length of the carriage house, all four chimneys new lead flashing, and even a very long new gutter. Everything done to absolute perfection!

They finished at 4:00 today and I’m still in awe of what they did for this grand dame.

The only thing I’m sad about is that they’re done. There a family business and I’ve become very fond of this family!
But I’m gonna see them again when they do mom‘s roof.
