Excellent experience all around. Great product for a fair price. I’m glad I found these guys. Ryan helped me get the right equipment rather than the most expensive. You can tell he wants to help rather than take advantage of the situation.

West Seattle Electric's team was professional, knowledgeable, fair and on schedule. As an architect with substantial experience working with electricians on residential projects, I can confidently state that this is a superior electrical contractor.

Ryan and his team are awesome! They have done several projects for us from small to large. Most recently, Mark reconfigured two light switch boxes so there was enough space to install some smart dimmers. He is always courteous & friendly and really knows his stuff!

Francisco is also top notch! He was the lead person on a big remodeling project that turned out amazing.

Although our job is not yet complete I wanted to give a shout out to how great these guys are. Jay has been so amazing in helping us resolve many problems with our very old electrical and seems quite diligent in making sure everything is safe. Francisco installed a new panel and did such a great job explaining everything that he did and what I would need to know for the future. My only complaint is that PSE took so long to move the service, which had nothing to do with these guys. I hope to be wrapping up this big job soon and am happy to have found someone I can use in the future. These guys are great!

Ryan and his team are in the same industry as my own company and while we are competitors, we have also partnered with West Seattle Solar and Electric on several occasions in order to best serve customers. They are responsive and have done great work where we’ve referred them, and they have referred us on occasion as well. Best electrician in town and it’s not even close. As a small business owner in the trades myself, I have so much appreciation for West Seattle Electric’s honesty, professionalism and quality of work.

I have worked with them for years. I have hired them as subcontractors, referred them to our clients and have never had a single issue to complain about. They are the kind of contractors people wish they could find more easily.

Ryan, the owner is a military vet with a heart of gold. He will quite literally do whatever it takes to make his clients happy and his employees feel valued. He and his dad, run a homeless shelter 4 months out of the year and Ryan is a long standing member of Bikers Against Child Abuse. They are always thinking of ways to give back to the community.

We insulated the attic of the shelter last year and I was overwhelmed watching the volunteers cook breakfast for people that really needed help. Few people take the time out from running a business to help others, the way that Ryan does.

I've known this company for several years now. I've come behind them on countless jobs patching and refinishing the openings that are part of rewiring a home. They're work is first rate. The breaker panels are all tight and the wiring is clean and thorough. His crews leave a clean house with cutouts from the walls neatly stacked, sometimes even labeled making shorter work of closing everything up and leaving the walls new again.
I meet the homeowners after Ryan's guys have finished and his customers love them. They are great to work with. 5 stars all the way.

Francisco came out to diagnose some GFCI problems we were having today. He has worked at our place on both big and small projects and problems, and has always been extremely pleasant, competent, and informative. I highly recommend his work, and West Seattle Electric.

Ryan's crew did a whole house rewire to replace knob and tube. Francisco was a great project lead who walked us through the process and was very transparent throughout. Great customer service and they guarantee their work. I would highly recommend WSES!

This is late, but we recently had an electrical panel installed. The whole process was a great experience. From meeting with Ryan, first at a home show, then to come give an estimate on the work to be done. The crew performing the work was great and very professional and personable. The project lead was Jay. I wish I could remember everyone else's names as they were all great.
Jay also came out this morning after the storm yesterday to check on the panel which had an issue with the power outage. Nothing wrong with the panel but came to check it out for us. To come out on short notice and the great communication with the whole company, to me, says a lot about the company. I can't recommend them enough.

I have the old knob and tube in my home in a cinder block house. One of the breakers went off and would not reset. Of course it was the one with internet while I was on a deadline. Luckily Mark was able to come out in an hour to troubleshoot. They were a bit stumped and had to open up a bunch of old crusty outlets in the line. I finally mentioned the Boiler room which was outside. They quickly found the problem and was able to fix it in that little space. Everyone that I was in contact with was very knowledgeable and super friendly. I felt it was a fair price with no surprises. West Seattle Electric & Solar is a very trustworthly company! I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

I had some issues with circuit breakers, a mystery outlet, and a broken heater. From the time he got here Stephen was personable, helpful and efficient. Also a great conversation. He got everything squared away, and had me back up and running with no mystery left on any outlets, and warm rooms within four hours. Highly recommend these guys, they're great.

I had West Seattle Electric and Solar come out today (11/22/24) to troubleshoot an issue that I and an engineer friend couldn't solve. From start of the process with the person on the phone to finish at my house they were courteous, prompt, and professional.
Francisco came out after calling to confirm the time and listened carefully to my description of the problem. He took care to not track rain/detritus into the house and communicated with me throughout when necessary. Once the issue was identified he asked for my preferences when discussing options to fix and clearly answered my lay-person's questions. After fixing the issue he again explained the issue and what he'd done.
I've used WSE&S twice previously and will call them again if the need arises.

Needed to upgrade an unsafe electrical panel and and some wacky electrical issues. They came through for us. Had 3 companies give us quotes and WS Electrical was the best solution, best price. I would highly recommend working with them, from the owner Ryan, to Francisco, to the office team. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

I highly recommend West Seattle Electric & Solar. I have used them various times for home electrical needs including deck lights installation and interior fixtures installation and repair. Recently Alon installed a fixture and dimmer switch in my home office and repaired a couple aging can lights. He was super friendly, skilled and very efficient. I also really enjoy Naomi in the office who makes scheduling easy and is always kind and communicative.

WSES was great to work with. Ryan has an excellent crew, they are extremely knowledgeable very professional. Jay was the lead electrician for our job, great guy and very helpful.. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have known about the huge electrical problem our home inspector outright missed. He save us from our new house blowing up. All around a great company. I would have given them 5 stars, but a couple of items have been left up in the air and communication with the office has been difficult since the job has been done.

My electricity in a portion of my house went completely dead, I reached out to Ryan and he had his team out the same day. Within minutes they had the electricity working again. Also, they fixed the wiring in my bathroom and put in a new receptacle. They were quick, and did an amazing job. West Seattle Electric will always be my go to for my electricity needs!

Had a great experience with WS electric and Francisco who installed a new pendant in a tricky spot that required new wiring. Francisco worked quickly and our final price was much less than the original bid. We are so happy with our new lighting!

They were incredibly thorough, responsible and creative in coming up with a solution for our home to avoid investing in a service upgrade above 220. Given our setup, he recommend some options, one of which wasn’t even on our radar. His expertise and honesty was greatly appreciated! I would have no hesitation hiring he and his team in the future.

West Seattle Electric did an amazing job installing my new Leviton Electrical Smart Panel, whole house surge protector, EV chargers for 2 cars, and swapping out all my electrical outlets in my home. All devices are working properly with no issues. His staff was professional and courteous. I recommend installing a whole house surge protector as the solar flares zapped my brand new furnace electrical components and the fix was expensive. Well worth the investment. These days people have so many new digital devices such as shower controls it's a good idea to protect expensive equipment.

And their QuietCool attic system has been a game changer for the hot summer months! Had my house checked out for electrical safety and restored power to some things that hadn't been working for a while, and it was seamless. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Francisco and Jordan recently did an upgrade on my electrical system, just got the permit signed off today. They ran new wire to my out buiding and installed a new panel to replace an old one that was scary and failing. He also cleaned up the mess in my old panel and replaced some outlets, cleared out some old boxes, and properly grounded my system.
Francisco was a great communicator and did very clean and efficient work, was super pleasant to have working here. I appreciate their quality work, they didn't try to sell me work that was not needed.

They came to figure out why I had no electricity in one of my walls. It luckily was super easy and he showed me that the breaker box isn't the only spot to check fuses. He was super educational about it, I appreciate when people do that. He was really nice, and I appreciate the fix.

Sadly, we did not have a good experience with West Seattle Electric. Very poor communication, breaking things without addressing it or offering to fix them, not following through on their word multiple times, going over contract without letting us know ahead of time to sign off on it, while requesting more money, the list goes on. We had high hopes because of how the owner presented himself in the beginning, but unfortauntely, our project with them has turned into a nightmare.

When a rogue tree branch wrecked my meter, Ryan and Jay from West Seattle Electric and Solar swooped in like pros. Ryan met with me the day after the chaos and Jay had my place fixed up the very next day – talk about efficiency.

Ryan's thorough assessment assured me they knew their stuff, and Jay's attention to detail in replacing the meter was downright impressive. No-nonsense communication throughout the process kept me in the loop.

For reliable, fast, and top-notch electrical work, I can't recommend this team enough. They not only fixed the issue promptly but also took the time to educate me on my electrical systems.

I spoke with Ryan of West Seattle Electric on Wednesday 12/20/23 right before the holiday weekend and he was able to get us scheduled 2 days later for that Friday. Francisco contacted us to confirm the time, he was punctual, explained what was wrong with the outlet and what had probably happened, then quickly fixed the outlet. It was great to be able to use our island outlet in preparation for Christmas dinner!

West Seattle Electric was great to work with. They recently installed an electric car charger for myself and my wife.

Our whole experience was positive. The owner, Ryan, is very customer service focused and is kind and responsive. He is also very professional and knows his stuff. All of the staff was great to work with including Amy, and the electricians who came out to do the job. They listened to our needs and delivered.

They installed our charger, and a box to put it in, and we paid additional for the box. They really went above and beyond. They are a West Seattle gem and I highly recommend them and will use them again if I ever need their services again.

We called West Seattle Electric and Solar to install an EV charger. They did a really good job. We were able to work with them to have some extra work done along side the wiring installation for the charger. We had a few technical difficulties during the installation but in the end they got fixed. Thank you Ryan for being so customer service focused.

West Seattle E and S has served me over the past two years with four visits to fix various things...always great and very professional. I feel like I'm in good hands. Fair and competent. Most recent visit from Conner was excellent...did the troubleshooting and ended up going the extra mile to finish the work..much appreciated. I hardly ever recommend a service to friends....but, I've had good experiences with WSE&S which is why I bother to write this review. There are plenty of impostors...or outfits that do average work....WSE&S has been great to work with...

Had a large electrical job for a remodel that included moving the meter and trenching and several panel upgrades, as well as adding solar.

Their entire team is great. Sales guy Ryan was actually an electrician and knew what he was talking about. Amy was able to answer the phone/emails when I had questions and they handled everything with the city. The crew on the ground worked quickly and Jay walked me through the installation at the end.

I would happily use them again. Good job folks you should be proud, not every contractor is this on top of things.

West Seattle Electric and Solar did a fantastic job installing my EVSE! My installation tech was able to quickly assess how the installation needed to go and then got it done quickly and very neatly. I will definitely be calling them again if I need any more work.

Hiring West Seattle Electric was one of the best decisions we've ever made. They wired our new-construction DADU and connected the service to the main house. Ryan gave us a very fair and accurate estimate. Mark, Eric, Mohammedi, Jay, and Cameron were all great to work with. They were punctual, friendly, and professional; also, collaborative and good communicators. And the total cost came in under budget, which is always good news! We highly recommend this company.

After multiple attempts and listening to a bunch of sick excuses about why they can't conduct their business in a professional manner I've given up on trying to get them to talk to me about solar for my home. I'll be letting my friend who recommended them know about this. I'll also let others not to waste their time.

Safety focused, modern-day professional, flexible. That is my 3 word, or phrase, review for West Seattle Electric & Solar.
If I go into detail, at first when I got the note from Cali about setting up an Zoom session, l admit I was a little unnerved, but in talking with Ryan even via Zoom, he knows what he’s doing. He was able to assess my needs and give me a “back of the napkin” estimate while finding the parts required, all within the span of our 30min Zoom session. Modern-day professional, knows what he’s doing plus uses today’s latest technology to get the job done.
Then, after I explained my situation, he was able to get a crew scheduled for my installation well ahead of my expectations. I made a point that I did not want to overburden his crews, but he was able to make it work, and for that I am most appreciated. Flexible.
Finally, but by no means the last which is why I put it first in my “3 word” review, Safety! Jay and his apprentice (ashamed to not remember his name for this review), were great. However, the reason I mention Safety focused is while they were working, I could overhear their conservations (small condo so I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop), and what would catch my attention is how Jay responded to questions with regards to safety items. For example, turning off the circuit breaker, when asked if it was off, Jay would respond to the apprentice “yes I did, but you shouldn’t take my word for it.” That is the prime tenet of LOTO (lockout tagout), in which the person working in the area should always verify the situation before proceeding with work - trust but verify. As someone that works in an industry with high-energy and powerful mechanical systems, I live that on a daily basis, but to hear that being coached to an apprentice, naturally, is very endearing, and to me that shows there is a good safety culture within the company.

TLDR: Safety focused, modern-day professional, flexible.

Unethical and deceitful. On two occasions West Seattle Electric sent a trainee (who must be supervised by a licensed electrician) to my house by himself to perform electrical work. On the 2nd occasion a Seattle electrical inspector made an unannounced visit to my home. West Seattle Electric's trainee lied to the inspector - claiming his supervisor had been at the house and just left to go get supplies. In truth, up to that point the required supervisor had never been to my home. On this occasion West Seattle Electric/the trainee was written up by the Seattle code department.

My electrical issue remains unresolved and West Seattle Electric has now attempted to bill me for this fraudulent "work".

Hire anyone else

He was very quick at responding to my issue I posted on Thumbtack and other sites.

He gave me few tips on managing some of the common electrical problems on my own.
He is great at giving advice if you are a rookie homeowner.

After working with Ryan on a reasonably complex photovoltaic project I’m convinced there is no one in our area with a better understanding of solar powered systems. He doesn’t fall into technical jargon and approached my project in a way that saved me tons of money. I highly recommend West Seattle Electric and Solar and will certainly work with them on my next project.

I was excited to work with West Seattle Electric and Solar on a rewire of my house. Ryan came out to do a walkthrough and was very friendly, helpful, and thorough. He said to expect an estimate within a week.

Unfortunately that estimate never came through. I called to ask about it a week and a half after the walkthrough and was told that Ryan hadn't added any notes about his walkthrough to their system for processing. Ok, fine, no big deal. The woman I spoke with said she'd call me back the next day. She never did.

I called the office several more times, leaving voicemails, hoping to get a bid for the work and they never picked up or returned my calls. I assume they're just super busy and didn't intentionally ghost me but this has left me feeling pretty disappointed.

It had gone dark since the storm. In our little west Seattle neighborhood that cross serves as a Beacon of light, and the gentleman she sent to do the electric work to illuminate it again, was speedy, informative and just plain awesome!

This company is very professional and I would highly recommend to anybody that would need their services. Our house was a pending sale and the job got done ahead of schedule. We were totally mislead and ripped off by one of the salesmen, who no longer works there. He straight up lied to us. After $45,000 investment, after 3 years, we still have on going issues with panels that do not work, they came to fix the display panel, it has been 9 months now, nothing fixed, nothing done, and excuses galore. It is beyond frustrating.

Great company all around! Good communication, follow up, and explanation of my questions. The quality of the work, most importantly, was also excellent. I'd definitely use them again and recommend them.
