Chad and his crew were amazing. The quality of work is exceptional. Attention to detail - outstanding. Trustworthiness -unparalelled. Communication- excellent. Price - very reasonable. There are few people I trust with keys to my property - Chad and crew are among those few.

I needed quite a bit of work done on my house, which had been neglected the last ten years....two front decks and a balcony were falling apart and needed complete replacement. Looking for construction candidates online, I came across Upright Construction. They had many reviews, and every single one was five star. So I called them up and Chad came out almost immediately to give the estimates. He had great suggestions for materials and colors that would last well and match the house. In just a couple of months they came out and started the work.

They did such a great job on the decks that I decided to use Upright Construction for all the rest of the maintenance I currently needed done: power washing and staining the entire house, fixing malfunctioning doors, and reinforcing and bringing up to code my loft railing, and many more smaller tasks. They were even able to repair the elevated gas line which I had not known was attached to the bottom of a collapsing porch. (!)

The costs were all very reasonable, especially considering the excellent quality of the work. And these folks were absolutely trustworthy. I had no worries about leaving the house open for them while they worked, and when I had to leave for afternoon appointments they'd even close up my house if I wasn't back when they left.

I'm thrilled to have found this company and I will be using them for all future construction projects!! So here's another five star review for Upright Construction. I'd give more stars if I could.

Highly recommend Upright Construction. Chad and his crew completed a deck build for us. We found his work to be excellent. The deck is very well-built and compliments our home. He is very professional and worked with us when we changed our original design.

Chad was very easy to work with. He was very responsive to all communications. He provided knowledgeable and sound advice during the planning stages of my kitchen remodel. He was always on time, he did what he said he was going to do. He also kept me informed about what he was doing and what was coming next. Anytime I had a question he took the time to make sure my question was promptly and satisfactorily answered. He also did great work. The project came together just as he planned and looked better than expected. He is a true professional and knows what he is doing. I would not hesitate to call on him again, and would recommend him to anyone who needs home remodeling work at a fair price..

We work hard and take great pride in our home as most of us do. We hired Upright Construction after Chad came out to do a thorough bid for the job. Not only did Chad actually follow through with communicating regularly, he was always on time and took great pride in providing us the BEST quality work out there! He did a remodel to our existing patio area, the quality of the supplies he used along with the quality of his work was so appreciated....a true craftsman which is hard to find! When we look at hiring someone to help us keep our home in tip top shape we always look for INTEGRITY in those we hire. Chad went above in beyond...before, during and after the job. In today's world it's just so nice to deal with people you can actually TRUST. People who take pride in their work, have manners, a strong work ethic while producing such a beautiful product. Chad was all of that and beyond. We have and will continue to refer Upright Construction to all of our friends and business associates. We LOVE our patio!

We highly recommend Chad. He took up our old decking (luckily our foundation was still in great shape) and replaced it with Trex. Chad gave us excellent suggestions and we found overall does great work. And he’s a genuinely good guy! We already have him lined up to do another project in a couple of months. We totally trust Upright Construction and offer the highest recommendation.

I can highly and enthusiastically recommend Upright Construction. Chad is a very professional, polite and skilled tradesman. He fixed the rotting soffits on our house, and replaced some rotting boards on our deck. He cleaned up after himself, and communicated with us regularly throughout the job. We will definitely call him again.

Chad came to do a bid to remodel our kitchen and a bathroom and replace some Sheetrock. He was very thorough and we are so glad they are flexible to allow us to do tare outs and supply fixtures in order to stay within a budget. I highly recommend them.
10/28/2024 update. They worked for 2.5 days at our house May 8-10th. They have been too busy to come back and finish. On August 23rd, he said they would be here October 28(a 9 week wait) to finish. They tried to delay again when I asked on October 25th if we were still on for the 28th. With so many excuses and delays we asked to be invoiced for those 2.5 days, and have the rest of what we paid upfront returned to us, so we could get the work finished. Guess what? 2.5 days of labor for 2 guys with this company is over $12,000. Don’t hire them. Our legal counsel has recommended filing complaints with the attorney general’s consumer complaints office and contractor licensing agency, then filing with small claims court. Also if you hire them( not recommended) ask them for an itemized invoice, because Chad is slick in generalizing costs, and making 20 labor hours for 2 people equal $12,000. And we provided all supplies. That’s $300/hour/person. Wow!
11/4/24- Chad is now threatening to place a Lien on our house if we don’t accept his charge of over $12,000 for May 8-10th work. He is changing dates on when he came to work, (but I have dated pictures) claims we caused the delays, doesn’t even admit he gave us the date of October 28th to come finish, but I have it specifically in texts. I’m glad I have all communication in writing, especially this last document threatening to lien our house.

Upright went above and beyond what I expected, with great insight as to what I REALLY wanted!!! I LOVE the outcome!

After what I would call some small communication issues, Chad and Russ arrived on the job, and in less than two days, did outstanding work replacing one of our doors. They were timely, profession and had great craftsmanship. When the job was complete, they even went above and beyond, which was extremely appreciated. We would definitely (and will) hire this company again.

Chad and Kristin repaired a ceiling and wall damaged by a year of leaks in the roof (a result of shoddy workmanship by a previous contractor). Chad and Kristin are professional, punctual and knowledgeable about their craft. Moreover, they are warm and lovely people. We highly recommend Upright Construction for your next project.

We are so happy with the kitchen and bathroom remodelling project that Upright Construction did for us. It was a total remodel with walls being torn down and included everything, fixtures, countertops, flooring, vanity, faucets, cabinets, a window(and even the kitchen sink!) being discarded and replaced! It all was done with an emphasis on quality products and workmanship, attractive and functional designs, while providing up-to-date knowledge of products and trends. Chad and Chris are diligent perfectionists who commit to one job at a time. We have experienced other contractors who disappeared for days at a time to work on other jobs they had going on simultaneously with ours. Chad and Chris were on time every day and worked with an old-fashioned commitment to excellence and serving their customer. At the end of each workday, the house was swept, vacuumed and all debris removed completely from our property. We are gladly rehiring them to do more remodelling in our home this winter. And we are looking forward to having them in our home again, as they are polite, extremely hard-working, honest, responsive, knowledgeable and kind people. Bathroom remodel: I recently had Chad, Kristen and their crew complete a bathroom remodel. They basically took out everything in the bathroom and started from scratch( tub, walls, vanity, etc). They needed to deal with some interesting plumbing issues, but handle it like a pro. Throughout the whole project Chad communicated with me, showed up on time and picked up the pieces ordered for the remodel. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the area they were working in. Great quality work and professionalism. I look forward to our next project together. I will also recommend this company to others. Thanks for the great remodel on the bathroom.

This company has been a pleasure to do business with so far. Chad has been very honest, along with doing a great job on our remodel up to this point. I highly recommend them. When our project is complete I will up load some photos and give a final review.

We highly recommend Upright Construction! Chad and Kristen replaced the siding on our complicated old beat-up garage, which is now much stronger and more functional as well as pleasant to look at. They worked with creativity, attention to detail, and high-level skills, and are not only excellent communicators but also extremely hard workers [even with snow, rain, and hail in one day!] who take pride in their craft. Would we hire them again? We already have!

Upright was the company for us on our kitchen remodel. They came recommended to us from a friend that was very satisfied with her kitchen remodel. They installed new cabinets, appliances (sink/disposal, oven, over the range micro, dishwasher), smoothed out our walls and put cord around. They were great communicators and made sure the job was done right. We would highly recommend them for any project you have a vision for. We already are recommending them to our friends and family.

Chad and his crew did a great job installing interior walls and flooring in my basement remodel! He even came back to fix a few pieces of faulty flooring that was discovered a few months later! Will definitely hire this company to do more work in my home! Thank you guys!!

I cannot recommend upright construction enough. From quote to finish the gazebo and repairs were done beyond my expectations. Chad's construction crew were always extremely friendly and respectful. They showed everyday on time and cleaned up at the end of each work day. What sets them apart is I felt they wanted the project to turnout just as good if not better than I did.

We hired Upright Construction to build a patio cover/porch and they did a fantastic job. Every aspect of the project was customizable and done to our personal preference. The job was done in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the workers followed all necessary precautions. The owner is very responsive and made sure to contact us with any questions to make sure the project came out how we wanted.

We hired Upright Construction as our contractors for a home remodel project. They took down a wall and archway that was blocking our main living area restricting us of a open concept living area, and built new archways tying in our dining room, and the finished product was more than we could ask for. Upright Construction did an impeccable job. Their crew was professional, punctual, and worked expeditiously and safely. They asked for our feedback from start to finish, and they made sure we were happy with every choice. They listened to our voices, heard us, and worked through some hiccups. In one wall we were surprised by a pipe, but they were able to resolve the problem, and rerouted the pipe safely. They also rerouted all electrical boxes, and let us pick where to reinstall. The archway came out beautiful and we are very thankful for their hard work. We are now enjoying the work they did for us, and we strongly recommend Upright Construction. We are happy and satisfied customers!

They did such good work with our gazebo we hired Upright Construction for a second job. Replaced sliding glass door for a french door and closed off a second door. Job was done perfectly!!!! Will be using them for any upcoming projects and already reccomended them. Thanks again guys!!!!!

Work done:
Close off opening into office with 2x4 framing, drywall, tape, mud, texture and paint to match existing walls. Frame in closet, drywall, tape, mud, texture and paint, install shelving, closet rods and closet doors. Remove drywall and framing and add new door from hallway into bedroom. Will relocate electrical outlets as needed and add a new outlet and extra blocking for mounting TV on living room wall. Remove existing light switch and add new switch next to new door. Add another outlet in bedroom. Remove drywall and insulate wall with soundproof insulation. Costed $5291.

The good:
Chad was quick to respond, kept us informed through the process, and understood what we wanted from the remodel.
They got us an estimate scheduled right away and a price estimate given to us quickly (a couple of days).
They are lisenced and insured.
Chad,his wife, and Gerald were very respectful, professional, and kind. It is hard to have strangers coming into your home, but they seemed genuine and trustworthy.
They got us scheduled within 2 weeks
Project took less than expected, 5 days vs. 1 week, they stayed later on the last day to finish.
They were on time.
They worked hard and made the most of the work days.
They answered all questions and concerns that were brought up throughout the project.
Gerald was here more than Clay, he was a great and always working.
They cleaned up after themselves indoors very well (they were considerate that we had little kids in the house and made sure things stayed safe or they would point out what to be careful with when they left for the day).
Kind to our kids and patient, even though they wanted to watch the work being done.
Insulation was installed thoroughly.
Very understanding with last minute additions (soundproof insulation, moving light switch, etc)
Considerate of our home, Gerald tried to never slam the door, which I appreciated with napping kids in the house.
The bedroom looks amazing!
The closet was made almost identical to inspiration photo I sent Clay.
I brought up the request mid-project of how we could sound proof the wall, Clay's suggestion of insulation worked wonderfully for our needs. He had to make an additional trip for material but was willing to do it, which we appreciated.
Moved the light switch from its original spot to right by the new door
2 outlets were added and 1 was moved, all done quickly and efficiently
The new door added was the same size as the other bedrooms & the location we wanted
Carpet was added under where the new door was made (due to no carpet being under where the wall previously was), and it blends together well.
Wall that was closed off looks amazing on the bedroom side. I can't tell any color difference or see any tape.
The texture on the walls looks really great.
They left the final day with garage and new bedroom cleaned up.
They patched, textured, & painted a hole our kids made years ago, which was a nice surprise!

The bad:
Tape shows through on the living room side pretty significantly. We hoped it would have blended as well as the bedroom wall did.
Paint color was not an exact match (it was close, but some lighting shows the difference a lot). I wish the entire walls where work was done was painted instead of part of it painted.
Closet doors were closed when wet, so paint messed up.
Two holes that were patched in the bedroom ceiling were not textured exactly the same.
The texture splattered a little on some areas in the living room and bedroom, leaving white spots (In the bedroom each spot was painted, but the paint color wasn't identical)
They accidentally spilled some lamp oil that we had in our garage, which caused a mess and a very strong smell in the garage for days. Gerald helped me clean it as much as we could. It still smells slightly.
They asked to use our mop to clean up the garage, i had to buy a new mop head afterwards.
Chad accidentally ran over one of our bushes, he was trying to move over so we could have room to back out of our driveway

Overall they were still a great company to work with.
