Scott Cleven of Timber Ridge is an excellent inspector. We contracted him concerning an older Victorian style house we were considering buying in Racine. He has expertise in knowing the pitfalls of older houses and hidden safety concerns to look for. He was so complete walking us through everything he found with a full explanation. He spent over 3.5 hours on the location and was very informative every step of the way. With over 30 years in the business and previously a carpenter, I would highly recommend!!!

Scott does a great job, I’ve had 2 inspections done by him, super nice guy and didn’t mind me hovering around a bit to see what he was on the look out for, highly recommended.

I am not happy with this home inspector at all. He endangered the life of my family. I was the seller, so I didn’t hire him. While doing his inspection he found a carbon monoxide leak with my water heater in the basement. He left no notes warning me when I came back to my house. I found out through my realtor several hours after I came home. I rushed my wife and son outside and called a professional to take care of the problem. Scott, you put my family’s life at risk! What kind of person does that? Next time you find a carbon monoxide leak in a home where someone is still living make sure to notify them immediately!

Scott did an excellent job inspecting our new home. His inspection report was very easy to read and access. He also got it back to us on the same day as the inspection. Would recommend him to others and would use him again.

We were to very happy and satisfied with the home inspection provided by Scott. We were there when he performed the inspection and pointed out many things that we did not see.

Regretfully we did not purchase the property due to a rodent problem that the seller was not willing to resolve along with some safety issues.

Scott truly gives a full inspection with leaving no rock unturned. Truly a professional with attention to the details of all areas of the home. The home inspection also educates the buyer as to how things work and could be repaired. I have never seen such a thorough home inspection as this. Timber Ridge Inspections will be my forever go to.

Scott Cleven conducted an inaccurate and inappropriate inspection on our home which resulted in a lost sale and much inconvenience. First, Scott stated that the laundry tub leaked which was not the case. I used it almost every day. Second, he also turned up the refrigerator and freezer temperature and never turned it down. Thus, the defrost could not keep up which caused it to run very hard and over frost. Third, he moved one of our very tall garage flood lights to a 30-degree angle which caused our light not to turn on. We had to drive three hours to our other home to get a ladder to move it back. We also had to use that ladder to try to put back several pieces of siding on our house and garage that Scott moved and did not put back properly. Since when is a home disassembled for an inspection? Finally, Scott inaccurately measured the basement walls. We had to hire a contractor to confirm this. There were many other “little things” that Scott had on his numerous page report. Most would be considered non-issues that should not have even been pointed out. Scott seems to have a habit of doing this from some of the other reviews I’ve read from others. Realtors, please don’t use this unprofessional individual! He’s going to cause you to lose sales from his extreme inaccurateness!!

Scott Cleven was referred by my Realtor. Both my Realtor and Scott were working against me not hearing my concerns that I had about environmental issue of possible dog feces, urine stains (carpet smelled) and carpet not stretched which was a trip hazard. Scott said inspections does not address carpets but other inspectors I talked to said inspections does include carpet issues; especially trip hazards in which he refused to note. He said those could be coffee stains. He knew it was not coffee stains so I fired him on the spot as I could not trust his judgment. He presented passive aggressive, rude, argumentative and not competent.

Scott went above and beyond for us during our home inspection. His report was very thorough and his recommendations were taken to heart. I cannot recommend him and his services enough.

Can I just say, that I had two prior home inspections. The buyer of my home who clearly offered way over asking in hopes to drive my home price down, especially when he brought in his inspector. The owner of this company. I had previously had a pre home inspection done by a very reputable company. The repairs were modest and I was willing to get them done. Scott came in and delivered around 40 pages of utter nonsense. To my surprise, I reached out to my inspector that inspected prior to me listing my home, asked why there was so much confusion on the reports? Let’s just say Scott, every used home isn’t going to be perfect and it isn’t your job to absolutely desecrate and put things on an inspection report things that apparently are against “code”. I thought you were an inspector not a code enforcer? By the way, my home passed inspection when it was built without “window flashings”. When I purchase my new home, I will make sure to avoid your business at all costs. The offer fell through as your clients goal was literally to bleed me dry me due to your nonsense reporting. Those whose homes you inspect will be in need of an inspector and I guarantee they won’t be using you. I spent thousands of unnecessary dollars to appease your home inspection report in a sellers market for NOTHING.

Scott did a fantastic job inspecting my duplex before I bought it. I’ve had other inspectors in the past do a fast and sloppy job, 15 or 30 minutes and they’re on to the next job. It's a problem, since inspectors get paid by how many jobs they can squeeze in. With Scott, I felt like he was inspecting as if it was his own life savings on the line. He spent hours on the property, and found problems that I know would have been missed by other inspectors. Stuff like toilets that needed to be secured to the floor. He was punctual, and courteous to the occupants. His notes were clear, and he took plenty of pictures for his report. With his report, we were able to negotiate plumbing repairs from the seller, which would have cost us close to $2,000. Scott is worth every penny, and I highly recommend him to anyone buying a house in Southeast Wisconsin.

Scott is an extremely nice and honest person. I have actually used him twice, after having neutral experiences with other home inspectors. Scott isn't flashy, he isn't stuck-up, and he treats every home inspection as if it would be for a home he would be living in. He was friendly to all questions, and he had no qualms getting dirty and taking dozens of pictures. I really can't say anything negative about him; His inspection reports are incredibly thorough and informative. I had made a couple special requests in the past and he has also worked around my schedule even to his own ability to "squeeze me in" for two hours or so at last minute notice. Honestly I will always use him as long as he is in business.

Scott got back to us right away and was very easy to schedule with. He worked around my schedule and not just his. He did our radon and home inspection. While he was doing our inspection, he walked us through everything we missed before we got there and everything throughout the rest of the inspection.
