We have worked with SW Collins over the years, from purchasing materials from them to helping us with local deliveries. Their employees are always welcoming when you walk in and are willing to help with whatever you may need.
This place is great! I travel in between Bangor and Houlton doing carpentry and The customer service at that Houlton store is superlative. You might pay a couple dollars more for some things than lowes; but having a dedicated, friendly, knowledgeable staff that can reliably answer any questions is invaluable. Last time I was in there I watched Brandon, the manager, put out like 4 (figurative) fires while helping me find several different items I needed urgently. All while cracking jokes and smiling. It was incredible. Highly recommend.
As a new customer, I walked into the store not knowing what to expect. The cashier greeted me with a smile and a perky hello, then, as I wandered further into the store, there were plenty of staff around, speaking to and helping customers. One staff member offered his help and when he was unsure, he took me to the back where another member of staff, who worked with tile, was located. She helped reccomend what they like to use, was patient and kind. She even rang me up after I decided. Brilliant store!! Will definately be shopping there again!!!
